A novel greener glycosidation using an acid-ionic liquid containing a protic acid

The glycosidations of glucopyranosyl diethyl phosphite and alcohols using an ionic liquid, 1-n-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonimidide (C₆mim[NTf₂]) containing a protic acid, trifluoromethanesulfonimide (HNTf₂), as a novel solvent-catalyst system, effectively proceeded under mild conditions to give the corresponding glycosides in good to high yields. Furthermore, this acid-ionic liquid combination could be reused many times for the glycosidations without any loss in efficiency.     

A novel layered bimetallic phosphite intercalating with organic amines: Synthesis and characterization of Co(H2O)4Zn4(HPO3)6·C2N2H10

A new layered cobalt-zinc phosphite, Co(H₂O)₄Zn₄(HPO₃)₆·C₂N₂H₁₀ has been synthesized in the presence of ethylenediamine as the structure-directing agent. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group Cc (No. 9), a=18.2090(8), b=9.9264(7), c=15.4080(7) Å, β=114.098(4)°, V=2542.3(2) Å³, Z=4, R=0.0323, wR=0.0846. The structure consists of ZnO₄ tetrahedra, CoO₆ octahedra and HPO₃ pseudopyramids through their vertices forming bimetallic phosphite layers parallel to the ab plane. Organic cations, which reside between the inorganic layers, are mobile and can be exchanged by NH₄⁺ cations without the collapse of the framework.     

Syntheses and characterization of two new zinc phosphites with 1D chains decorated by Zn-centered complexes

Two inorganic-organic hybrid solids, Zn₂(phen)(HPO₃)₂ (1) and Zn(phen)(HPO₃) (2), have been synthesized under solvothermal conditions in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands. Their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and further characterized by FTIR, elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and fluorescent spectra. Compound 1 crystallizes in the triclnic system, space group P-1, , , , α=75.609(1)°, β=79.145(2)°, γ=67.157(2)°, , Z=2. Compound 2 is monoclinic, C2/c, , , , β=94.175(4)°, , Z=8. Both structures consist of 1D chains constructed from strictly alternating ZnO₄ and HPO₃ polyhedra through sharing vertices. The chains are further decorated by Zn-centered complex architectures, [Zn(phen)]²⁺ for 1 and [Zn(phen)₂]²⁺ for 2. The 2D and 3D supramolecular arrays for 1 and 2 are stably stacked via strong π-π interactions of the phen groups, respectively.     

A simple TiCl4 promoted arylation of orthoformate and benzyl ethers by N,N-dialkylarylamines

N,N-Dialkylarylamines react with trimethyl orthoformate and TiCl₄ under ambient conditions to give the corresponding formyl derivatives in 75-89% yields, whereas the corresponding arylated products are obtained from benzyl ethers and acetals in 42-78% yields.     

Efficient esterification of carboxylic acids and phosphonic acids with trialkyl orthoacetate in ionic liquid

An operationally simple, inexpensive, efficient, and environmentally friendly esterification of various carboxylic acids, phosphonic acids, and phosphinic acids with triethyl orthoacetate or trimethyl orthoacetate under neutral conditions in a typical room temperature ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, was successfully carried out to provide the corresponding ethyl esters or methyl esters in high yields.     

Ga3(HPO3)4F4(H3DETA) (DETA=diethylenetriamine): A new open-framework fluorinated gallium phosphite with pentameric building unit

Ga₃(HPO₃)₄F₄(H₃DETA) is a new open-framework fluorinated gallium phosphite obtained by mild hydrothermal synthesis using diethylenetriamine as templated agent and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, the powder X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, TGA, ICP and elemental analyses. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c, a=12.741(6) Å, b=12.068(6) Å, c=11.988(5) Å, β=94.902(8)^o, V=1836.6(15) Å³, Z=4. The construction of 3D open-framework structure in the title compound may be viewed as the assembly of pentameric building units and HPO₃ groups. The pentameric building unit is the first to be found, which lead to form the three types of channels along a-, b- and c-axes, respectively, in gallium phosphite. The triprotonated DETA cations are inserted within the 10-membered ring channels and interact with anions of the framework via hydrogen bonds.     

Facile one-pot synthesis of BINOL- and H8-BINOL-based aryl phosphites and their use in palladium catalysed asymmetric allylation

Novel P-monodentate aryl phosphite ligands have been synthesised in one step from (R)-BINOL, (R)-H₈-BINOL and (R)-H₈-3,3′-dibromo-BINOL. With the new aryl phosphites, up to 86% ee was observed in the asymmetric Pd-catalysed amination of 1,3-diphenyl-2-propenyl acetate with sodium diformylamide. In the enantioselective alkylation of 1,3-diphenyl-2-propenyl acetate with dimethyl malonate, up to 97% enantioselectivity was achieved.     

Synthesis and properties of novel poly(amide-imide)s containing pendent diphenylamino groups

A new dicarboxylic acid, 2,4-bis(N-trimellitoyl)triphenylamine, bearing two preformed imide rings was synthesized from the condensation of 2,4-diaminotriphenylamine and trimellitic anhydride at 1:2 molar ratio. A series of poly(amide-imide)s (PAIs) with inherent viscosities of 0.38-0.66 dl/g were prepared by triphenyl phosphite-activated polycondensation from the diimide-dicarboxylic acid with various aromatic diamines. All the resulting PAIs were readily soluble in a variety of organic solvents and formed strong and tough films via solution casting. These PAIs have useful levels of thermal stability associated with moderately high glass-transition temperatures (259-314 °C) and 10% weight loss temperatures in excess of 530 °C in nitrogen or in air.     

Mild and efficient Cs2CO3-promoted synthesis of phosphonates

A mild and convenient synthesis for phosphonates using cesium carbonate (Cs₂CO₃), tetrabutylammonium iodide (TBAI) and DMF was developed at room temperature. Numerous dialkyl phosphites were screened using a diverse array of alkyl halides and these reaction conditions were found to be highly efficient producing various phosphonates exclusively in moderate to high yields.     

Phosphan-, Phosphit- und Phosphido-Komplexe des Vanadiums(V)

Phosphane, Phosphite, Phosphido, Complexes of Vanadium(V) Complex formation of tert-butylimidovanadium(V)trichloride ( 1 ) with phosphanes und phosphites has been studied. Syntheses of phosphidovanadium(V) compounds ^tC₄H₉N?VCp(NH^tC₄H₉)[P(SiMe₃)₂] and ^tC₄H₉N?VCp(NⁱProp₂)(PR₂) (R?SiMe₃, Ph) are described starting from the corresponding chlorovanadium(V) complexes. The reaction of 1 with silver hexafluorophosphate yields a bis(fluoro)phosphidovanadium(IV complex [(μ-PF₂)₂V₂Cl₂)(N^tC₄H₉)₂]; as primary intermediate product of the unknown redox reaction a cationic vanadium(V) complex [^tC₄H₉N?VCl₂ · PPh₃]⁺PF₆^? has been isolated. 1 reacts with an excess of diisopropylamine forming ^tC₄H₉N?V(NⁱProp₂)Cl₂ ( 16 ); in addition the following diisopropylamido-tert-butylimidovanadium(V) compounds ^tC₄H₉N?VCp(NⁱProp₂)Cl ( 3 ) and ^tC₄H₉N?V(NⁱProp₂)X₂ (X?CH₂CMe₃, O^tC₄H₉, CH₃COO) has been prepared. All compounds obtained are characterized by ¹H, ⁵¹V, ³¹P NMR spectroscopy. The X-ray diffraction analysis of 16 and 3 indicate a planar coordination sphere of the amido nitrogen atom.
