A novel hydrogen bonded liquid crystal (HBLC) complex is synthesized from non-mesogenic benzylmalonic acid (BMA) and mesogenic 4-nonyloxybenzoic acid (9OBA). Structural properties and optimized vibrational frequencies of BMA + 9OBA have been studied by FT-IR spectrum. The weak intermolecular interaction between the molecules is proved by NBO and Mulliken charge distribution analysis. The optical and thermal properties are investigated by POM, DSC, UV-Visible and PL techniques. The present HBLC complex exhibits schlieren textures of nematic, broken focal conic texture of smectic C and multicolored mosaic texture of smectic G phases respectively which is not observed in the pure mesogen (9OBA). The HBLC complex geometry is optimized by DFT method at the level of B3LYP basis set 6311G (d, p). The electronic properties of HBLC complex such as, NBO, HOMO-LUMO, ESP and Mulliken charge distribution are also studied. A noteworthy observation is brought out by identifying the presence of photoluminescence in nematic phase due to the variation in intermolecular interaction of the mesophase. The utility of the same complex is discussed. The phase width, thermal stability factor, tilt angle, phase transition temperature and its enthalpy values are reported.  相似文献

The effect of two strong salting-out salts (Na2SO4 and K2SO4) on the temperature-induced phase-separation process in aqueous solutions of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPA) was examined by attenuated total reflectance/Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and viscosity measurements. On the basis of these measurements, a detailed scenario of the phase-separation process was deduced. The phase-separation scenario of solutions containing PNIPA and water was altered in the presence of sulfate ions. Here, the sulfate ions induced partial intrachain collapse, manifested by a relatively compact structure well below the lower critical solution temperature. This led to a more gradual, smooth phase transition, with temperature-resolved intrachain collapse and interchain aggregation and a lesser extent of hysteresis. Although at the macrolevel one may not be able to differentiate among various scenarios altering the solvent into a poor solvent, the aforementioned microlevel measurements provided a way to expose the difference between raising the temperature and adding cosolutes. Adsorbed ionic NOx species formed upon the interaction of NO2 with dehydrated or hydrated Na- and Ba-Y, FAU zeolites were characterized using FT-IR/TPD, solid state NMR, and XANES techniques. NO2 disproportionates on both dehydrated catalyst materials forming NO+ and NO3 species. These ionic species are stabilized by their interactions with the negatively charged zeolite framework and the charge compensating cations (Na+ and Ba2+), respectively. Although the nature of the adsorbed NOx species formed on the two catalysts is similar, their thermal stabilities are strongly dependent on the charge compensating cations. In the presence of water in the channels of these zeolite materials new paths open for reactions between NO+ and H2O, and NO2 and H2O, resulting in significant changes in the adsorbed ionic species observed. These combined spectroscopic investigations afforded the understanding of the interactions between water and NO2 on these zeolite catalysts.  相似文献

The first poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers tethered with both (η5-cyclopentadienyl) rhenium tricarbonyl (CpRe(CO)3) units and polyethylene glycol (PEG) chains were prepared and characterized by combining NMR spectroscopy and Fourier-transform IR spectroscopy. Grafting of CpRe(CO)3 units was achieved by reductive amination of formyl-CpRe(CO)3 with the peripheral amines of generation 3 and 4 PAMAMs to yield dendrimers labeled with a variable number of CpRe(CO)3 units, ranging from 8 to 14 for PAMAM-G3 and 17-30 for PAMAM-G4. PEG chains of different lengths were then attached to some of the remaining peripheral amines, and their respective ability to improve the solubility of the metallodendrimers in aqueous buffered media was evaluated. These metallodendrimers represent new infrared probes designed to be coupled to immunological reagents for the amplification of the IR signal in carbonyl metallo immunoassay (CMIA).  相似文献

采用静态水热法分别以正丁胺、四丙基溴化铵为模板剂合成ZSM-5分子筛及Fe-ZSM-5杂原子分子筛;利用XRD与FT-IR对其结构进行表征;考察了Mo改性后分子筛催化剂上甲烷脱氢芳构化的反应性能。结果表明,Fe部分进入了分子筛的骨架,导致分子筛的结晶度及表面酸强度的下降,使Mo/Fe-ZSM-5催化剂的反应性能较Mo/HZSM-5显著下降。  相似文献

Fundamental vibrational modes have been identified and assignments tentatively made in comparison with the work of Janda and Heller, and Li Jun. A direct and reagent free procedure has been developed to monitor the fermentation process of pine apple nectar using Attenuated Total Reflectance Fourier-transform mid-infrared spectrometry (FT-IR) and multivariate analysis. A classical 42 design for standards was employed for calibration using the information in the spectral range from 907 to 1531 cm−1 of the first order derivative spectra after mean centering of infrared data. The root mean square error of calibration (RMSEC) of 0.040, 0.021, 0.063 and 0.074% w/w were obtained for glucose, fructose, saccharose and ethanol, respectively, and a mean relative validation error of 2.9, 2.1, 2.6 and 3.6% was achieved for glucose, fructose, saccharose and ethanol. Results obtained by the proposed procedure for the alcohol content at different fermentation levels were statistically comparable with those obtained by a reference spectrometric method. So, FT-IR spectrometry provides a fast alternative to long and tedious classical procedures to ethanol determination and sugar enzymatic analysis.  相似文献

Proteins obtained from agricultural sources represent a unique feedstock from which to prepare thermally processable polymers. In this study, thermally processed feather keratin films were composted with three-month-old compost inoculum in self-heating laboratory composters for 30 days and temperature and carbon dioxide development monitored. About 24% of the available carbon in the feather keratin polymer (FKP) was metabolized in this time and this may not be high enough for some applications. Degradation of the feather keratin polymers was observed within 10 days with concurrent molecular weight reduction measured using FT-IR. Visual inspection of the polymers also showed destruction of the films. A change in crystallinity was observed in DSC analysis and some degradation processes could be inferred from this as well.  相似文献

Three di-Schiff bases of 2-hydroxy-5-methyl-isophthalaldehyde with 4-R-anilines (R=H, CH3, OCH3) and their 1:1 complexes with HClO4 were studied by FT-IR, 1H, and 13C NMR spectroscopy in acetonitrile and [2H3]acetonitrile solutions, respectively. In di-Schiff bases intramolecular OH…N hydrogen bonds have been detected; however, they show no proton polarizability. Hydrogen-bonded systems with fast proton fluctuation and large proton polarizability have been found in the 1:1 complexes of di-Schiff bases with HClO4.  相似文献
