On Potentially Abelian Geometric Representations

The finiteness is proved of the set of isomorphism classes of potentially abelian geometric Galois representations with a given set of data. This is a special case of the finiteness conjecture of Fontaine and Mazur.     

Minimal Submanifolds in a Locally Symmetric and Conformally Flat Space

We study minimal submanifolds in the locally symmetric and conformally flat Riemannian manifold and generalize Yau's result obtained in J. Amer. Math. 97 (1975), 76–100.     

Ricci and Matter Collineations of Locally Rotationally Symmetric Space-Times

A new method is presented for the determination of Ricci Collineations (RC) and Matter Collineations (MC) of a given spacetime, in the cases where the Ricci tensor and the energy momentum tensor are non-degenerate and have a similar form with the metric. This method reduces the problem of finding the RCs and the MCs to that of determining the KVs whereas at the same time uses already known results on the motions of the metric. We employ this method to determine all hypersurface homogeneous locally rotationally symmetric spacetimes, which admit proper RCs and MCs. We also give the corresponding collineation vectors. These results conclude a long due open problem, which has been considered many times partially in the literature.     

Hamiltonian N2‐locally connected claw‐free graphs

A graph G is N₂‐locally connected if for every vertex ν in G, the edges not incident with ν but having at least one end adjacent to ν in G induce a connected graph. In 1990, Ryjá?ek conjectured that every 3‐connected N₂‐locally connected claw‐free graph is Hamiltonian. This conjecture is proved in this note. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ON THE PRODUCT OF GATEAUX DIFFERENTIABILITY LOCALLY CONVEX SPACES

A locally convex space is said to be a Gateaux differentiability space (GDS)provided every continuous convex function defined on a nonempty convex open subset D of the space is densely Gateaux differentiable in D.This paper shows that the product of a GDS and a family of separable Frechet spaces is a GDS,and that the product of a GDS and an arbitrary locally convex space endowed with the weak topology is a GDS.     

The Convergence and Stability of Splitting Finite-Difference Schemes for Nonlinear Evolutionary Equations

We consider a splitting finite-difference scheme for an initial-boundary value problem for a two-dimensional nonlinear evolutionary equation. The problem is split into nonlinear and linear parts. The linear part is also split into locally one-dimensional equations. We prove the convergence and stability of the scheme in L ₂ and C norms. Riemannian Manifolds in Which Certain Curvature Operator Has Constant Eigenvalues along Each Circle

Riemannian manifolds for which a natural curvature operator has constant eigenvalues on circles are studied. A local classification in dimensions two and three is given. In the 3-dimensional case one gets all locally symmetric spaces and all Riemannian manifolds with the constant principal Ricci curvatures r ₁ = r ₂ = 0, r ₃= 0 , which are not locally homogeneous, in general.     

Infinite-dimensional linear groups with restrictions on subgroups that are not soluble <Emphasis Type="Italic">A</Emphasis><Subscript>3</Subscript>-groups

We are concerned with infinite-dimensional locally soluble linear groups of infinite central dimension that are not soluble A₃-groups and all of whose proper subgroups, which are not soluble A₃-groups, have finite central dimension. The structure of groups in this class is described. The case of infinite-dimensional locally nilpotent linear groups satisfying the specified conditions is treated separately. A similar problem is solved for infinite-dimensional locally soluble linear groups of infinite fundamental dimension that are not soluble A₃-groups and all of whose proper subgroups, which are not soluble A₃-groups, have finite fundamental dimension. __________ Translated from Algebra i Logika, Vol. 46, No. 5, pp. 548–559, September–October, 2007.

A natural criterion for dimensional full-valuedness of locally compact spaces with finitely generated local homology is given.
