This article contains proofs of the results announced by Panin and Smirnov (http://www. math.uiuc.edu/k-theory/0459/2000) in the part concerning general properties of oriented cohomology theories of algebraic varieties. It is constructed one-to-one correspondences between orientations, Chern structures and Thom structures on a given ring cohomology theory. The theory is illustrated by motivic cohomology, algebraic K-theory, algebraic cobordism theory and by other examples. 相似文献

New compactifications of symmetric spaces of noncompact type X are constructed using the asymptotic geometry of the Borel–Serre enlargement. The controlled K-theory associated to these compactifications is used to prove the integral Novikov conjecture for arithmetic groups. 相似文献

We augment Restorff's classification of purely infinite Cuntz–Krieger algebras by describing the range of his invariant on purely infinite Cuntz–Krieger algebras. We also describe its range on purely infinite graph C?-algebras with finitely many ideals, and provide ‘unital’ range results for purely infinite Cuntz–Krieger algebras and unital purely infinite graph C?-algebras. 相似文献

All C*-algebras of sections of locally trivial C* -algebra bundles over ∏i=1sLki(ni) with fibres Aw Mc(C) are constructed, under the assumption that every completely irrational noncommutative torus Aw is realized as an inductive limit of circle algebras, where Lki (ni) are lens spaces. Let Lcd be a cd-homogeneous C*-algebra over whose cd-homogeneous C*-subalgebra restricted to the subspace Tr × T2 is realized as C(Tr) A1/d Mc(C), and of which no non-trivial matrix algebra can be factored out.The lenticular noncommutative torus Lpcd is defined by twisting in by a totally skew multiplier p on Tr+2 × Zm-2. It is shown that is isomorphic to if and only if the set of prime factors of cd is a subset of the set of prime factors of p, and that Lpcd is not stablyisomorphic to if the cd-homogeneous C*-subalgebra of Lpcd restricted to some subspace LkiLki (ni) is realized as the crossed product by the obvious non-trivial action of Zki on a cd/ki-homogeneous C*-algebra over S2ni+1 for ki an integer greater than 相似文献

We give some structure to the Brown–Peterson cohomology (or its p-completion) of a wide class of spaces. The class of spaces are those with Morava K-theory even-dimensional. We can say that the Brown–Peterson cohomology is even-dimensional (concentrated in even degrees) and is flat as a BP*-module for the category of finitely presented BP*(BP)-modules. At first glance this would seem to be a very restricted class of spaces but the world abounds with naturally occurring examples: Eilenberg-Mac Lane spaces, loops of finite Postnikov systems, classifying spaces of most finite groups whose Morava K-theory is known (including the symmetric groups), QS2n, BO(n), MO(n), BO, Im J, etc. We finish with an explicit algebraic construction of the Brown–Peterson cohomology of a product of Eilenberg–Mac Lane spaces and a general Künneth isomorphism applicable to our situation. 相似文献

Hurewicz-Radon theorem [1] gives a sufficient and necessary condition about the existence of an orthogonal multiplication f:Rk×Rn→Rn. In this paper,we shall discuss two extensions of the theorem.that is,the sufficient and necessary conditions about the existence of an orthogonal multiplication f:Rk×Rn→Rn 1or f:Rk×Rn→Rn 2 相似文献

In the 2-local stable homotopy category the group of left-bu-module automorphisms of bu ∧ bo which induce the identity on mod 2 homology is isomorphic to the group of infinite, invertible upper triangular matrices
with entries in the 2-adic integers. We identify the conjugacy class of the matrix corresponding to 1∧ ψ3, where ψ3 is the Adams operation.

Abstract In this paper we give an explicit formula for the Riemann-Roch map for singular schemes which are quotients of smooth schemes by diagonalizable groups. As an application we obtain a simple proof of a formula for the Todd class of a simplicial toric variety. An equivariant version of this formula was previously obtained for complete simplicial toric varieties by Brion and Vergne (Brion M. and Vergne M. ([1997]). An equivariant Riemann-Roch theorem for complete simplicial toric varieties. J. Reine. Agnew. Math.482:67–92) using different techniques. 相似文献

We construct a new compactification of a noncompact rank one globally symmetric space. The result is a nonmetrizable space which also compactifies the Borel–Serre enlargement X of X, contractible only in the appropriate ech sense, and with the action of any arithmetic subgroup of the isometry group of X on X not being small at infinity. Nevertheless, we show that such a compactification can be used in the approach to Novikov conjectures developed recently by G. Carlsson and E. K. Pedersen. In particular, we study the nontrivial instance of the phenomenon of bounded saturation in the boundary of X and deduce that integral assembly maps split in the case of a torsion-free arithmetic subgroup of a semi-simple algebraic Q-group of real rank one or, in fact, the fundamental group of any pinched hyperbolic manifold. Using a similar construction we also split assembly maps for neat subgroups of Hilbert modular groups. 相似文献
