A highly efficient non-linear optical organometallic compound zinc cadmium thiocyanate (ZCTC) single crystal was grown by solvent evaporation method. The as grown single crystals were implanted with 45 keV N5+ ions having energy at various fluencies of 1 × 1015, 5 × 1015, 1 × 1016 and 5 × 1016 ions/cm2. The surface modification induced by the ion implantation was studied using scanning electron microscopy. The UV spectrum shows an increase in absorbance with the increase in the dosage of the ions implanted. There is a red shift in the cut off wavelength due to implantation which may be attributed to the lattice damage produced during implantation. From the Raman spectra, it is observed that there is no shift in the peak positions or any extra peaks due to implantation confirming that the nitrogen ions are not substituted into the lattice. The FWHM, area and intensity of the Raman peak corresponding to CN stretching vibration were calculated and the influence of ion implantation on these parameters was discussed. The effect of implantation on the PL spectra was analysed and discussed in detail. The change in refractive index of the sample due to implantation was reported.  相似文献

Atomic force microscopy is used to investigate the surface morphology of the prismatic (100) face of ZCTC crystal grown at 30°C at a supersaturation of 0.16. This surface is distinctly formed by periodic “macrosteps” that advance along different directions and join with each other leading to the interlaced growth layers with an inclination of about 137°. These two “macrostep” trains well correspond to the pyramidal faces of (0 ) and (01 ) in orientation, therefore they probably propagate from the edges of these faces. The “macrosteps” are practically formed by highly dense steps at the front with regular elementary steps in between. The alternation of “macrosteps” and elementary steps vividly reflects Chernov's “kinematic waves of steps” theory (Chernov , (1984)) on a nanometer scale. Wide indentations and long clefts are generated at the “macrosteps”. The former is generated by twodimensional nucleation growth at a relatively faster growth rate than that of the underlying layer. The latter is probably caused by step trains generated by individual growth sources that have not merged.  相似文献

Violet 404-nm radiation is generated by type-I single-pass frequency doubling of the output of an GaAlAs diode laser in critically phase-matched ZnCd(SCN)4 (ZCTC) crystal, a metallo-organic complex crystal. In this paper, its refractive index and second-harmonic generation phase-matching angles are reported. Using a 3-mm-long ZCTC crystal, a diode laser power of 473 mW generated 390 μW of second-harmonic radiation. More recently, 380-nm, 20 μW ultraviolet (UV) radiation is also realized by frequency doubling of the 100 mW output of a continuous-wave Ti:sapphire laser at 760 nm. ZCTC is a promising UV nonlinear optical candidate material for frequency doubling of diode lasers.  相似文献
