When dibenzo[b,f]-1-azapentalene dianion (3) was allowed to react with either iron (III) chloride or ethylene bromide, a one-electron transfer from3 took place readily to give the radical anion11. Further electron transfer from11 did not occur presumably due to the antiaromatic character of dibenzo[b,f]-1-azapentalene (1) that would have resulted. The radical anion11 underwent further transformation by hydrogen abstraction from the solvent to give 5,10-dihydroindeno[1,2-b]indole (2) and by dimerization to themeso and (R,S) isomers of 5,5,10,10-tetrahydro-10,10-biindeno[1,2-b]indole (4 a and4 b) respectively.

Zusammenfassung Die Reaktion von Dibenzo[b,f]-1-azapentalen-Dianion (3) mit Eisen (III) oder Ethylenbromid ergab einen Ein-Elektronentransfer zum Radikalanion11. Ein weiterer Elektronentransfer fand nicht statt, vermutlich wegen des antiaromatischen Charakters von Dibenzo[b,f]-1-azapentalen (1), das dabei entstehen müßte. Das Radikalanion11 ergab unter Wasserstoffentzug aus dem Lösungsmittel 5,10-Dihydroindeno[1,2-b]indol (2), das weiter zummeso- bzw. (R,S)-5,5,10,10-tetrahydro-10,10-biindeno[1,2-b]indol (4 a bzw.4 b) dimerisierte.

The reaction of LuCl3(THF)3 with Na(1,3-Ph2C5H3) followed by the in situ reaction with Na2[Ph4C2] produced (1,3-Ph2C5H3)Lu(Ph4C2)(THF) (1). The structure of 1 was established by X-ray diffraction. In the crystal structure of 1, the bis-allyl η6-coordination of the tetraphenylethylene dianion to the lutetium cation was observed. The structures of (1,3-Ph2C5H3)LuCl2(THF)3 and (C5H5)LuCl2(THF)3 were determined by X-ray diffraction. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Bis(cyclopentadienyl)methane-bridged Dinuclear Complexes, V[1]. – Heteronuclear Co/Rh-, Co/Ir-, Rh/Ir-, and Ti/Ir Complexes with the Bis(cyclopentadienyl)methane Dianion as Bridging Ligand* The lithium and sodium salts of the [C5H5CH2C5H4]- anion, 1 and 2 , react with [Co(CO)4I], [Rh(CO)2Cl]2, and [Ir(CO)3Cl]n to give predominantly the mononuclear complexes [(C5H5-CH2C5H4)M(CO)2] ( 3, 5, 7 ) together with small amounts of the dinuclear compounds [CH2(C5H4)2][M(CO)2]2 ( 4, 6, 8 ). The 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra of 3, 5 , and 7 prove that the CH2C5H5 substituent is linked to the π-bonded ring in two isomeric forms. Metalation of 5 and 7 with nBuLi affords the lithiated derivatives 9 and 10 from which on reaction with [Co(CO)4I], [Rh(CO)2Cl]2, and [C5H5TiCl3] the heteronuclear complexes [CH2(C5H4)2][M(CO)2][M′(CO)2] ( 11–13 ) and [CH2(C5H4)2]-[Ir(CO)2][C5H5TiCl2] ( 17 ) are obtained. Photolysis of 11 and 12 leads almost quantitatively to the formation of the CO-bridged compounds [CH2(C5H4)2][M(CO)(μ-CO)M′(CO)] ( 14, 15 ). According to an X-ray crystal structure analysis the Co/Rh complex 14 is isostructural to [CH2(C5H4)2][Rh2(CO)2(μ-CO)] ( 16 ).  相似文献

A simple and efficient synthesis of previously unknown benzosubstituted dioxaphosphonines containing a quinoxaline subunit is described. Reasonably good yields of the products, mild reaction conditions, and convenient work-up are the advantages of this method. The procedure does not require any catalyst or activator and can be efficiently achieved via dianion cyclization. All the synthesized compounds have been characterized by satisfactory elemental analyses and spectral (IR, 1H, 13C, 31P NMR, and mass) studies.

Naphthalene and biphenyl dianions are interesting compounds that can be obtained by double reduction of the corresponding arenes in solution with certain alkali metals. These dianions are highly reactive and rather elusive species with very high laying and highly delocalized electrons. They share many aspects of the reactivity of the alkali metal they originated from and consequently behave primarily as strong electron transfer (ET) reagents. We report here kinetic evidence for a different type of reactivity in their alkylation reactions with alkyl fluorides. By using cyclopropylmethyl fluoride (c‐C3H5CH2F) as a very fast radical probe, we were able to settle that this alkylation does not involve the classical electron transfer reaction followed by radical coupling between diffusing radicals, but supports the alternative SN2 concerted mechanism, discerning thus this mechanistic SN2‐ET dichotomy. Polymerization of acrylamide has been initiated by the photochemical reactions of the dianions of croconic acid (1,2-dihydroxycyclopentenetrione) and rhodizonic acid (1,2-dihydroxycyclohexenetetrone) in the presence of various acceptor molecules. Photoinitiation was most efficient with croconic acid where a maximum quantum yield for polymerization of 2 x 103 was observed in neutral solution. Kinetic studies using this initiator showed that the rate of polymerization was a linear function of the concentration of monomer and proportional to the square root of the light absorbed by the croconate dianion. The rate of initiation of radicals calculated from the rate of polymerization was compared with the rate of production of radicals calculated from previous studies of the photochemistry of the croconate dianion and the mechanism of photoinitiation is discussed. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献
