A reflective fiber temperature sensor based on the optical temperature dependent characteristics of a quantum dots (QDs) thin film is developed by depositing the CdSe/ZnS core/shell quantum dots on the SiO2 glass substrates. As the temperature is changed from 30 to 200°C, the peak wavelengths of PL spectra from the sensing head increase linearly with the temperature, while the peak intensity and the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of PL spectra vary exponentially according to the specific physical law. Using the obtained temperature-dependent peak-wavelength shift, the average resolution of the designed fiber temperature sensor can reach 0.12 nm/°C, while it reaches 0.056 nm/°C according to the FWHM of PL spectrum. 相似文献

Dynamic wind loads, thermal expansion and other mechanical reasons cause optical platform mounts to sway. The sway distorts the alignment between transmitters and receivers, causing random pointing jitter, the outcome of which is the phase fluctuation of optical waves from the transmitter. Furthermore, atmospheric turbulence causes fluctuations in the phase of those optical waves. By using the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle, both phase fluctuations are considered and an analytic formulation for the angle-of-arrival variance of optical waves propagating through turbulent atmosphere in the presence of motion-induced pointing jitter is derived. The result shows that the angle-of-arrival variance of optical waves under the combined impact of motion-induced pointing jitter and atmospheric turbulence is the sum of the angle-of-arrival variances induced by them independently. 相似文献

By means of the weakly guiding approximation, the mode spot sizes Wx and Wy of the fundamental mode along the semimajor (x-direction) and semiminor (y-direction) axes of the fiber core in elliptical core twomode fiber are discussed. The variation of their ratio value Wx/Wy with the operation wavelength λ and the length ratio a/b between the semimajor axis and the semiminor axis of the fiber core is analyzed. Based onthis analysis, the distribution figures of two-lobe interferential mode patterns are evaluated and simulated quantitatively for different phase difference changes between LPo1 and LPeven11 modes. The two-lobeinterferential mode patterns have the same profile and distribute symmetrically when the phase differenceequals π/2. Their central distance S becomes larger when WX/Wy augments gradually. Furthermore,the equation about the central distance S of the two-lobe interferential mode patterns is given when the operation wavelength varies between 0.65 and 1.31 μm, which is important to applications shuch as sensors and coupling devices between different fibers. 相似文献

This article is concerned with characterizing the first extremal point, b0, for a Riemann–Liouville fractional boundary value problem, Dα0+y + p(t)y = 0, 0 < t < b, y(0) = y′(0) = y″(b) = 0, 2 < α ≤ 3, by applying the theory of u0-positive operators with respect to a suitable cone in a Banach space. The key argument is that a mapping, which maps a linear, compact operator, depending on b to its spectral radius, is continuous and strictly increasing as a function of b. Based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle, the mutual coherence function of quasi-monochromatic electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model (EGSM) beams propagating through turbulent atmosphere is derived analytically. By employing the lateral and the longitudinal coherence length of EGSM beams to characterize the spatial and the temporal coherence of the beams, the behavior of changes in the spatial and the temporal coherence of those beams is studied. The results show that with a fixed set of beam parameters and under particular atmospheric turbulence model, the lateral coherence of an EGSM beam reaches its maximum value as the beam propagates a certain distance in the turbulent atmosphere, then it begins degrading and keeps decreasing along with the further distance. However, the longitudinal coherence length of an EGSM beam keeps unchanging in this propagation. Lastly, a qualitative explanation is given to these results. 相似文献

A sinusoidal phase-modulating (SPM) laser diode (LD) interferometer for real-time surface profile measurement is proposed and its principle is analyzed. The phase signal of the surface profile is detected from the sinusoidal phase-modulating interference signal using a real-time phase detection circuit. For 60 × 60 measurement points of the surface profile, the measuring time is 10 ms. A root mean square (RMS) measurement repeatability of 3.93 nm is realized, and the measurement resolution reaches 0.19 nm. 相似文献
