The convection of an isothermally incompressible fluid in a horizontal layer with free undeformable boundaries kept at a constant
temperature is considered. Under the fairly common assumptions of the temperature dependence of the specific volume, it is
shown that the monotonicity principle holds and that the spectrum of critical Rayleigh numbers is countable and prime. Models
with linear and quadratic temperature dependences of the specific volume are given as examples. The results on the spectrum
of the critical Rayleigh numbers are also valid for some other boundary conditions.

A variant of electroosmotic thin-layer chromatography is suggested with the use of low volatility compounds as mobile phases aimed at drastically decreasing the evaporation of the mobile phase and improving the reproducibility of the method. The linear movement velocity of zones of separated compounds is experimentally shown to increase 2-12-fold in electroosmotic chromatography (compared to similar values in traditional TLC). The separation efficiency is also considerably increased. 相似文献

Information is given on the influence of fluorene and fluorenone derivatives on the melting point of thymus DNA and their interferon-inducing activity. The substances investigated form complexes predominantly with the AT pairs of DNA. A comparative electro-phoretic study of complexes of the substances investigated and of ethidium bromide has shown that the fluorene and fluorenone derivatives do not intercalate into the DNA double helix. The change in the melting point of DNA correlates with the chemical structure of the compounds investigated and depends on the volume of the substituent on the nitrogen atom of the side chain.V. I. The spectral properties of a class of tridiagonal matrices are investigated. The reconstruction of matrices of this special class from given spectral data is also studied. Necessary and sufficient conditions for that reconstruction are found. The obtained results extend some results on the direct and inverse spectral problems for periodic Jacobi matrices and for some non-self-adjoint tridiagonal matrices. 相似文献

Complexes of native and denatured DNA with model tripeptides containing phenylalanine or tyrosine residues flanked by lysine or arginine residues, respectively have been investigated by pulsed Fourier1H NMR spectroscopy. The existence of shifts into the strong-field region of the signals of aromatic protons of the model tripeptides in the complexes both with native and with denatured DNA has been shown.
