Dynamic polarizabilities of the clock states of Al+

The dynamic polarizabilities of ${\rm 3s}^2\,^1{\rm S}_0$ and ${\rm 3s}{\rm 3p}\,^3{\rm P}_0^{\rm o}$ states of Al$^+$ are calculated using the hybrid configuration interaction and many-body perturbation theory method, and multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock method in this work. Five ultraviolet magic wavelengths for the Al$^+$ clock transition ${\rm 3s}^2\,^1{\rm S}_0$-${\rm 3s3p}\,^3{\rm P}_0^{\rm o}$ are predicted. Although the suitable lasers are not available presently, the potential precision measurement on these magic wavelengths for the Al$^+$ clock transition would be used to extract the ratios of several certain transition matrix elements with high accuracy, and then help to improve the precision and reliability of the estimate of the BBR shift of the Al$^+$ clock transition. The differential dynamic polarizabilities at certain wavelengths are evaluated, which are useful to assess the ac Stark shift of the Al$^+$ clock transition frequency and helpful in the clock experiments to suppress the ac Stark shift of the clock transition as possible as it can.     

Charge State Evolution of Uranium in Electron Beam Ion Trap

We present a calculation scheme with significant modifications and improvements for determining the ionization balance and the ion temperature evolution in an electron beam ion trap (EBIT). The scheme is applied to uranium and nitrogen ions using a specific set of EBIT operating parameters. The calculation results are compared to the experimental data. Rates for the individual atomic processes in EBIT, especially single and multiple charge exchange processes, are discussed. The time evolution of the ion temperatures for uranium and its coolant nitrogen are also given.     

Effects of Configuration Interaction on Dielectronic Recombination of Cu-Like Gold Ion through 3d+ e →4l''l'''' Capture Process

Effects of configuration interaction on dielectronic recombination of Cu-fike gold ions through the 3d ＋ e→4l′4l″ capture process are studied in the models of isolated configurations approximation, configuration mixing within 3d^94s4l′4″, and configuration mixing within 3d^94l4l′4l″ （l≥ 0）, employing a relativistic distorted-wave approximation. Nonresonant raditive stabilizing transitions and decays to autoionizing levels followed by radiative cascades, as well as resonant stabilizing transitions from the resonant levels, are taken into account. The additional mixing with 3d^94l4l′4l″ （0 〈 l 〈 l′ 〈l″≤ 3） shifts slightly the peaks of cross section towards low energy. The rate coefficient at low temperature is dramatically changed. The rate coefficient at temperature above 100 eV is enhanced by a factor between 26% and 13%.     

KLn Dielectronic Recombination Process of B- Through He-like Cu Ions

The KLn dielectronic recombination processes of trapped highly charged B-like through He-like Cu ions are studied theoretically, and the theoretical results are used to analyse our previous experimental data at Heidelberg electron beam ion trap （EBIT）. The theoretical resonant positions agree with the experimental resonant positions to a precision of 0.4%, in comparison with the resonant positions of those highest peaks between theory and experiment. The experimental spectra are then fitted using a formula with the theoretical resonant energies and strengths, the result shows good overall agreement between theory and experiment over a wide electron energy range. The distribution of highly charged states is obtained from the fitting parameters.

Photon Angular Distribution and Polarization of Radiative Recombination

A systematic study is carried out on the angular distribution and polarization of photons emitted following radiative-recombination of bare and He-like ions of Ne, At, Ni and Mo with a unidirectional electron beam. In order to incorporate the screening effect due to inner-shell electrons, a distorted wave method is used. Scaling rules for polarization of the photon following radiative recombination to both bare and He-like ions are given for the incident energy regions up to six times the ionization threshold energy of the final state.
