Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopic study of order-disorder-phase transition with increase in the content of Gd in Nd2−yGdyZr2O7 solid solution is being reported. It has been observed from Rietveld analysis that with increase in concentration of Gd in Nd2−yGdyZr2O7, the value of the x parameter of the 48f oxygen changes from 0.332(1) to 0.343(1) with a sudden change in the slope for y=1.8, which indicates that the structure is transforming from ordered pyrochlore to disordered pyrochlore. In addition to that a sudden and drastic change in the Raman spectra including changes in the position and width of several Raman modes beyond y?1.8 has also been observed which has been correlated with increasing disorder. Based on these studies, it is suggested that there is a discontinuous order-disorder transition from ‘perfect pyrochlore’ to ‘defect pyrochlore’ phase in Nd2−yGdyZr2O7 solid solution.  相似文献

Despite being technically possible, splitting water to generate hydrogen is still practically unfeasible due mainly to the lack of sustainable and efficient catalysts for the half reactions involved. Herein we report the synthesis of cobalt‐embedded nitrogen‐rich carbon nanotubes (NRCNTs) that 1) can efficiently electrocatalyze the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) with activities close to that of Pt and 2) function well under acidic, neutral or basic media alike, allowing them to be coupled with the best available oxygen‐evolving catalysts—which also play crucial roles in the overall water‐splitting reaction. The materials are synthesized by a simple, easily scalable synthetic route involving thermal treatment of Co2+‐embedded graphitic carbon nitride derived from inexpensive starting materials (dicyandiamide and CoCl2). The materials’ efficient catalytic activity is mainly attributed to their nitrogen dopants and concomitant structural defects.  相似文献

Hydrogenated nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si:H) thin films were deposited using HW-CVD technique at various deposition pressures. Characterisation of these films from Raman spectroscopy revealed that nc-Si:H thin films consist of a mixture of two phases, crystalline phase and amorphous phase containing small Si crystals embedded therein. We observed increase in crystallinity in the films with increase in deposition pressure whereas the size of Si nanocrystals was found ∼2 nm over the entire range of deposition pressure studied. The FTIR spectroscopic analysis showed that with increasing deposition pressure the predominant hydrogen bonding in the films shifts from, Si-H to Si-H2 and (Si-H2)n complexes and the hydrogen content in the films was found in the range 6.2-9.3 at% over the entire range of deposition pressure studied. The photo and dark conductivities results also indicate that the films deposited with increasing deposition pressure get structurally modified. It has been found that the optical energy gap range was between 1.72 and 2.1 eV with static refractive index between 2.85 and 3.24. From the present study it has been concluded that the deposition pressure is a key process parameter to induce the crystallinity in the Si:H thin films using HW-CVD.  相似文献

Superparamagnetic nickel ferrite single phase nanoparticles with the average crystallite size of ∼9 nm have been synthesized at a low temperature (220 °C) by the sol-gel auto-combustion method. In the present study the as prepared powder was further calcined at different temperatures for 4 h, resulting in nanoparticles of larger size. The nanoparticles exhibited superparamagnetic behavior and changes in cation distribution as revealed by the Mossbauer, Raman and X-ray diffraction studies. The Mossbauer spectra collected at 5 K and under 5 T applied magnetic field showed mixed spinel structure and canted spin order for the nanoparticles, whereas there is collinear spin order with inverse spinel structure for larger particles. The vibrational spectra of the nanoparticles showed a redshift and broadening in the Raman line shape due to confinement effects.  相似文献

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are harmful even at trace level in the environment, and they are difficult to detect. This work presents a simple method for preparation of glutathione (GSH) functionalized gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) (GSH-Au NPs) for the detection of PCBs and its isomers based on surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The prepared Au NPs show the surface plasmon band around 533 nm. The crystallinity and formation of GSH-Au NPs were confirmed by using X-ray diffraction and vibrational studies. Transmission electron microscopic analysis showed the average particle size of GSH-Au NPs is around 16 nm. The morphology of the GSH-Au NPs indicates dumbbell-shaped structures with “hot spots” present. These hot spots increase the SERS activity significantly. Gas chromatography–mass spectrum showed that the soil extract contained PCBs, which, has also been detected using SERS. SERS based detection is simple and powerful for identifying the PCBs, as established here for PCBs in the real soil sample.Hence, from this investigation, a rapid, sensitive, cost-effective sensing method for detecting toxic PCBs in the environment was demonstrated.  相似文献

The simple recrystallization process is innovatively used to obtain the nanoparticles of copper phthalocyanine by a simple method. Liquid-liquid interface recrystallization technique (LLIRCT) has been employed successfully to produce small sized copper phthalocyanine nanoparticles with diameter between 3-5 nm. The TEM-SAED studies revealed the formation of 3-5 nm sized with beta-phase dominated mixture of alpha and beta copper phthalocyanine nanoparticles. The XRD, SEM, and the UV-vis studies were further carried out to confirm the formation of copper phthalocyanine thin films. The cyclic voltametry (CV) studies conclude that redox reaction is totally reversible one electron transfer process. The process is attributed to Cu(II)/Cu(I) redox reaction.  相似文献

Tin oxide submicronwires doped with Fe element were prepared by the thermal evaporation method. Morphological and structural characterizations revealed wires with sub micron size and crystalline in nature. The field electron emission from the single Fe:SnO2 wire was carried out in conventional field emission microscope. The Fowler–Nordheim plot obtained from IV characteristics of the wire showed a linear behavior typical that of metal. The field enhancement factor estimated from the slope of the F–N plot is 7455 cm?1, indicating that the field emission is from nanometric features of the emitter. A current density of 10 A/cm2 has been obtained at an applied field of 4.845 × 103 V/μm. The field emission current–time record at a current level of 1 μA for more than 3 h duration is promising for various field emissions based applications.  相似文献
