Mono-Aryl/Alkylthio-Substituted (Hetero)acenes of Exceptional Thermal and Photochemical Stability by the Thio-Friedel–Crafts/Bradsher Cyclization Reaction

The highly substituted mono-aryl/alkylthio-(hetero)acenes prepared in this study have been found to be thermally more stable (T_decomp.=331–354 °C) than the known di-aryl/alkylthio-substituted acenes by an average of 25 °C. They are also much more photostable at 254 and 365 nm (in both argon and air) than the parent anthracene and other reported anthracenes. The most photostable aryl/alkylthio-anthracenes at 254 nm were found to be 60–70 (in air) and 130 (in argon) times more stable in solution than the unsubstituted anthracene, and much more stable than known EDG/EWG-substituted anthracenes (EDG=electron-donating group, EWG=electron-withdrawing group) with an extended aromatic core. Furthermore, the acenes showed significantly higher photostability at 365 nm in both air and argon. The anthracenes were obtained by the novel thio-Friedel–Crafts/Bradsher cyclization reaction of hitherto unknown [o-(1,3-dithian-2-yl)aryl](aryl)methyl thioethers. The developed approach provides a general access to mono-aryl/alkylthio-substituted (hetero)acene frameworks containing at least three fused (hetero)aromatic rings. The characteristic feature of this approach, which leads to highly substituted acenes, is that the substituents, unlike in other methods, may be introduced at an early stage of the synthesis. DFT and TD-DFT calculations confirmed the stabilizing role of the aryl/alkylthio substituent in the mono-aryl/alkylthio-substituted anthracenes, which are the most stable anthracenes prepared to date. Their high photostability is mainly due to the quenching of singlet oxygen by the acene and the quenching of the acene S₁ state by molecular oxygen.

面向远海岛礁群的双向物流网络规划

针对若干远海岛礁群系统封闭性的分布特点,将中心岛礁选址、各岛礁建设泊位数量和规模、仓库储存量、运输船型和数量以及航线设置、班期组织等作为规划内容,以整个运输网络系统总成本最低为原则,综合考虑了仓库存储理论,建立了兼顾“选址-库存-路径”的规划模型。结合所建模型特点,提出了双层并行搜索遗传算法,构建了以海上运输为基本交通方式的双向物流系统。最后,以我国南海为例进行建模并求解,采用不同算法并通过多组不同规模的算例进行演算比较,验证了所建模型和算法的有效性与合理性。     

On the difference spaces of almost convergent and strongly almost convergent double sequences

In this paper, we study the difference spaces \({\mathcal {F}}(\varDelta )\), \({\mathcal {F}}_0(\varDelta )\), \({\mathcal {[F]}}(\varDelta )\) and \({\mathcal {[F]}}_0(\varDelta )\) of double sequences obtained as the domain of four-dimensional backward difference matrix \(\varDelta \) in the spaces \({\mathcal {F}}\), \({\mathcal {F}}_{0}\), \({\mathcal {[F]}}\) and \({\mathcal {[F]}}_{0}\) of almost convergent, almost null, strongly almost convergent and strongly almost null double sequences; respectively. We examine general topological properties of those spaces and give some inclusion theorems. Furthermore, we deal with their dual spaces.

     

BP neural network recognition algorithm for scour monitoring of subsea pipelines based on active thermometry

Scour monitoring is an important concern for subsea pipeline systems. The active-thermometry-based scour monitoring is based on the difference of heat transfer properties between sediment and sand, recognizes the surrounding media though temperature changing patterns during heating and cooling processes, and hence detects the free spans. Based on the scour monitoring system, a two-layer BP neural network was employed to process the monitoring data and achieved media recognition. The network's inputs were normalized temperature time histories. The network's outputs denoted different media: sediment and water. To validate the method, three experiments were conducted; one was used for training the network and the other two for testing. Also, the effect of noise on the network's performance was studied through simulation. The results demonstrated the feasibility and robustness of the neural network.
