Oxygen Reaction at Carbonaceous Materials with Different Structure in Electrolytes Based on Lithium Perchlorate and Aprotic Solvents

The powder X-band electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy of septet pyridyl-2,4,6-trinitrene

The first X-band EPR spectrum containing only non-overlapping signals of septet pyridyl-2,4,6-trinitrene and triplet pyridylnitrenes is reported. This spectrum was recorded after photolysis of 2,4,6-triazidopyridine in solid argon at 5 K. The zero-field splitting (ZFS) parameters of this trinitrene as well as of intermediate triplet mononitrenes and quintet dinitrenes formed at early stages of the photolysis were determined using the combination of modern computer line-shape spectral simulations and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. It was found that septet pyridyl-2,4,6-trinitrene has the record negative parameter D_S = −0.1031 cm⁻¹ among all known to date septet pyridyl-2,4,6-trinitrenes and may be of interest as a model multi-qubit spin system for investigations of quantum computation processing.     

Efficiency of the Detection of a Specific Wideband Signal under a Priori Parametric Uncertainty

A quasi-plausible algorithm is synthesized for detection of ultrawideband quasi-radio-signal with arbitrary shape and unknown amplitude, initial phase and duration. Statistical characteristics of the efficiency of the proposed algorithm (false-alarm and signal-omission probabilities) are determined. A decrease in the detection efficiency due to a priori ignorance of the signal parameters is characterized.     

Degradation processes in hydrogen–air fuel cell as a function of the operating conditions and composition of membrane–electrode assemblies

The optimal composition of membrane–electrode assemblies and operating conditions of hydrogen–air fuel cells, which provide a high efficiency and stability of catalytically active cathode layers and the fuel cell as a whole are determined for commercial monoplatinum electrocatalysts on the highly dispersed carbon support containing 60–70 wt % Pt. The degradation processes in the Pt/C catalysts are studied by a complex of electrochemical methods and the methods of structural analysis.

Preparation of nickel nanopowder through evaporation of the initial coarsely dispersed materials on an electron accelerator

The experimental studies have shown that, during evaporation of coarsely dispersed carbonyl nickel, a nanodispersed powder of high purity can be obtained, which is promising for use in different technological applications. The process has a high efficiency and a relatively high output (of the order of 100 g/h). The specific feature of the synthesis is the separation of obtained nanoparticles into two fractions with average sizes of approximately 100 and 200 nm. The computer analysis of the system evolution has demonstrated that this separation can occur as a result of the aggregation of the initial clusters of sufficiently large sizes.
