Interfacing anisotropic gold nanostructures with graphene can open up new avenues for modifying the light–matter interaction of graphene. A chemical route is explored to synthesize branched gold nanostructures on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) layers by in situ reduction, assisted by binary surfactant mixtures containing tetraoctylammonium bromide with cetyltrimethy­lammonium bromide, sodium dodecylsulfate, or sodium citrate. The hybrid material self‐assembles at a liquid/liquid interface forming a free‐standing film. Electron microscopy studies reveal the morphology, microstructure, and crystallinity of the hybrids. The gold nanostructures are branched in three dimensions and possess various shapes, such as irregular stars, multipods, and spiky features, interspersed with rGO layers. The hybrids exhibit plasmon modes in the visible and near‐infrared region due to the shape anisotropy. The enhancement effect of the spiky features is also observed in the Raman spectra. The growth mechanism of the branched nanostructures is followed by kinetic studies and indicates that the formation of multiple twinned crystals is the key factor for branching.  相似文献

Napier grass is a high-productivity perennial grass that is a very important forage for animals in the tropics. In this research work, fiber strands from Napier grass were extracted and the effect of acetic acid treatment on their chemical composition, morphological and structural changes, and tensile and thermal properties was studied. The acid treatment was carried out using glacial acetic acid solution at three different concentrations (5, 10, and 15%) for 2 h. Chemical analysis indicated lowering of amorphous hemicellulose content on acid treatment. FT-IR spectroscopic studies revealed variation of functional groups on acid treatment. Scanning electron micrographs indicated roughening of the surface of the fiber strands due to the removal of the hemicellulose layer on acid treatment. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated an increase in crystallinity of the fiber strands on acid treatment. The thermal stability and tensile properties of the fiber strands increased on acid treatment. This fiber has competitive advantages when evaluated with other natural fibers and can be developed further as a potential reinforcement in polymer matrix composites.  相似文献

An efficient, simple, ecofriendly and cost-effective method has been developed for the synthesis of benzimidazole/benzothiazole derivatives by a two-component reaction, involving 1,2-diamino benzene/2-amino thiophenol and substituted aromatic aldehydes using recyclable nano-Fe2O3 catalyst (10 mol%) in water afforded with excellent yields (75–85%). The most important feature of this protocol is short reaction times, high yields, aqueous reaction medium, efficient recycling and high stability of the catalyst.  相似文献

Simple synthetic modifications that tune the molecular structures, thereby the properties of the molecules, are of topical interest. Herein, we report the synthesis of two novel cationic rosaniline-based conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) from identical monomers via simple acid modulation (Acetic acid and BF3 ⋅ Et2O). The condensation reaction of rosaniline with 2,4,6-triformylphloroglucinol in acetic acid renders β-ketoenamine-linked CMP ( CMP-A ) while changing the acid to BF3 ⋅ Et2O, the linkages transform to enol and undergoes BF2-complexation, leading to boranil CMP ( CMP-B ). BF2-functionalities in boranil CMP significantly modified the optical and functional properties compared to β-ketoenamine-linked CMP. The cationic-delocalization along with the extended π-delocalization supported by chromophoric BF2-groups allow CMP-B to exhibit broad absorption spanning the visible to Near-Infrared region (NIR). The absorption red-edge of CMP-B appears around 1277 nm (optical band gap ∼1.58 eV) while CMP-A displays at 981 nm (optical band gap ∼1.83 eV). Most interestingly, as a photocatalyst, CMP-B catalyzes hydrogen evolution with a superior rate of 252 μmol g−1 over CMP-A (100 μmol g−1). It is about 2.5 times higher performance. The transient photocurrent measurements, electrochemical impedance data, and in-depth mott-Schottky analysis demonstrate that the BF2-group in CMP-B generates photoinduced charge carriers and their migration towards the active sites for photocatalysis. These polymers show significant photocatalytic H2 generation without any supportive metal co-catalyst. The BF2 complexed building blocks are a unique class of metal-free photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution through green and cost-effective approach.  相似文献

To obtain cellulose microfibers from Palmyra palm fruit fibers, a new succession of specific chemical treatments including acidified chlorination, alkalization, and acid hydrolysis have been developed. Cellulose microfibers obtained were characterized by different techniques. The chemical analysis indicated an increase in α-cellulose content and decrease in lignin and hemicellulose for the cellulose microfibers over raw fibers. Fourier transform infrared and 13C NMR spectra confirmed the removal of non-cellulosic (lignin and hemicellulose) components after chemical treatments. The X-ray diffraction results revealed that the cellulose I was partly transformed into cellulose II by chemical treatments and the crystallinity index of cellulose microfibers was significantly increased as compared to raw fibers owing to removal of non-cellulosic components. Thermogravimetric analysis results demonstrated that the thermal stability was enhanced noticeably for cellulose microfibers than for the raw fibers. The scanning electron micrographs illustrated cleaner and rough surfaces for the cellulose microfibers when compared to those of raw fibers.  相似文献

Napier grass fiber strands were used as reinforcement to obtain composites with epoxy resin as matrix. To improve the surface, these fiber strands were treated with alkali solution. The composites were prepared by means of hand lay-up molding, then the effects of Napier grass fiber strand loading on mechanical properties such as tensile, flexural and impact, interfacial bonding, and chemical resistance were investigated. The composite with 20 wt.% Napier grass fiber strands gives excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance, showing that it has the best bonding and adhesion of the composites. SEM micrographs of fractured and worn surfaces clearly demonstrate the interfacial adhesion between fiber and matrix. Alkali-treated Napier grass fiber strand–reinforced composites have better resistance to water and chemicals than the untreated fiber strand composites.  相似文献

Simple, sensitive and selective methods are proposed for the spectrophotometric determination of drugs, viz., tetracycline HCl, nifurtimox, ethionamide, propranolol HCl and isonicotinic acid hydrazide, based on their reactivity withN-bromosuccinimide (NBS). The method involves the addition of excess NBS of known concentration in the presence of 0.25M HCl and the unreacted NBS is determined by the measurement of the decrease in the absorbance of the dye celestine blue (max 540 nm), which was found to be the most suitable of several dyes tested. This method was applied for the determination of drug contents in pharamaceutical formulations and enabled the determination of the drugs in microgram quantities (0.2 to 5 g/ml). Standard deviations were typically 0.5mg per dose (RSD 0.1–1.0%). No interferences were observed from excipients and the validity of the method was tested against reference method. Recoveries were 99.8–101.1%.  相似文献

The specification of colour changes of nitritometric indicators, viz., cresyl fast violet acetate, amethyst violet, safranine O, neutral red, methylene violet, neutral violet, phenosafranine, brilliant cresyl blue and lissamine blue BF, in the titration of sulphanilamide has been carried out with the help of tristimulus colorimetry. Apart from the determination of true colour co-ordinates and complementary colour co-ordinates, the quantitative parameters specific colour discrimination (SCD), total colour difference (E*) values of CIE La*b*, CIE Lu*v* and LAB HNU colour spaces together with the standard deviation of colour matching (S) were also evaluated for all the indicators at different concentrations ratios of nitrite and sulphanilamide, for a quantitative measure of quality of colour change. The quality of colour change of many of the studied indicators is further improved by screening with appropriate inert colorants to obtain a colour transition between complementary colours through colourlessness at the equivalence point.  相似文献

Carbon dots (CDs) have become one of the most emerging materials as an alternative solar light-induced photocatalyst in contrast to traditional metal-based systems. However, one of the major challenges is the lack of visible light absorption. Herein, we have fabricated unique N, P-co-doped CDs with a self-assembled onion-like layered structure by using a bottom-up facile synthesis technique from chitosan gel and phosphoric acid as molecular precursors. This typical layered structure of N, P-co-doped carbon nano onions (N, P-CNOs), with an average size of 25–50 nm, displays an enhanced visible light absorption. Detailed structural and elemental characterizations confirm the extensive aromatic domain with P-containing surface functionalities, while electrochemical study clarifies the lowering of band gaps as well as the creation of new electronic states in comparison to the pristine N-CDs. Furthermore, the intrinsic structural features are correlated with the underpinning photophysical processes by steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. In addition, steady-state polarized emission and thermo-responsive PL properties have been carried out to unveil further the structure-property correlation of N, P-CNOs, and their comparative study with pristine N-CDs at the different excitation wavelengths. Finally, N, P-CNOs exhibit efficient visible-light-induced photocatalysis, and the detailed mechanistic study is carried out by trapping the photogenerated species in an aqueous medium. The prepared N, P-CNOs displayed an excellent visible-light photocatalytic performance over MB dye with a degradation efficiency of 75.8% within 120 min along with a degradation rate constant of ∼0.0109 min−1. It is concluded that the easy to synthesize and low-cost N, P-CNOs with a unique morphology hold great potential for application in visible-light photocatalysis.  相似文献

This article presents the extraction and effect of alkali treatment on the physical, chemical, tensile, and thermal characteristics of fiber strands obtained from Napier grass, a renewable biomass. In order to improve these properties, the Napier grass fiber strands were treated with sodium hydroxide. The alkali treatment was carried out using NaOH solution at three different concentrations (5, 10, and 15%) for 2 h. Characterization of untreated and alkali-treated Napier grass fiber strands was carried out by studying the chemical composition, surface morphology, functional group variation, crystallinity, and tensile and thermal behavior. It was found that untreated fiber strands have lower cellulose content, crystallinity, tensile properties, and thermal stability than alkali-treated fiber strands. Napier grass fiber strands treated with 10% NaOH showed optimum tensile strength, modulus, and percentage elongation with an improvement of 51.9, 47.3, and 12.1% respectively. Based on the properties determined for alkali-treated Napier grass fiber strands, we expect that these fibers will be suitable for use as a reinforcement in natural fiber composites.  相似文献
