This paper is concerned with the flapping characteristics and the structure dynamics of insect wings. The flapping behavior of some insects is studied using a threedimensional motion analysis system. The experimental system is composed of two high-speed video cameras, a motion grabber, and a personal computer. The three-dimensional representation of insect flapping can be gained by the system. The extrinsic skeleton vibration produced by insect flapping is examined with the optical displacement detector system. The structural properties of some insect wings are also studied by a three-dimensional, optical shape measurement system. Some functional principles underlying insect wing design are revealed by the measurements of surface roughness and flapping analysis.  相似文献

Transition metal-catalyzed monoreduction of dichlorooligosilanes with Grignard reagents is reported. Among the examined catalysts, group 4 metal chlorides such as TiCl4 and Cp2TiCl2 gave the highest reactivity and good selectivity. The reducing power is effectively controlled by changing the catalysts and Grignard reagents to achieve sufficient selectivity depending on the oligosilane substrates.  相似文献

Under the hypothesis that photo-irradiated proanthocyanidin could accelerate wound healing through reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation, we examined the effect of proanthocyanidin on 3T3-L1 mouse fibroblasts with or without photo-irradiation. As a result, irrespective of presence or absence of photo-irradiation, only 1 min exposure of the cells to proanthocyanidin resulted in accelerated proliferation of the cells in a concentration-dependent manner. Similarly to proanthocyanidin, 1 min pretreatment with catechin, caffeic acid, and chlorogenic acid accelerated the proliferative response, but gallic acid, epicatechin gallate, epigallocatechin, and epigallocatechin gallate failed. If incorporated active ingredient such as proanthocyanidin for such a short time as 1 min accelerates the proliferation response, a bioassay was conducted by utilizing antioxidant potential of proanthocyanidin. That is, intracellular oxidation of 2′,7′-dichlorodihydrofluorescin induced by H2O2 was significantly inhibited when the cells were pretreated with proanthocyanidin for 1 min, suggesting that incorporated proanthocyanidin into the cells exerted antioxidant effect. This was also supported by a liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry analysis in which incorporation of proanthocyanidin components such as catechin monomers and dimers into the cells within 1 min was confirmed. These results suggest that active polyphenolic compounds such as proanthocyanidin, catechin, caffeic acid, and chlorogenic acid incorporated into the cells in such a short time as 1 min could accelerate the proliferative response of the cells.  相似文献

A series of cis-preferential aromatic N-methyl amides was designed and synthesized, and acid-induced conformational alteration of these compounds was investigated by means of NMR measurements in solution and X-ray crystal structure analysis. Compounds with a terminal N-methyl-N-(2-pyridyl) amide unit showed acid-induced conformational change from cis to trans, while those with a terminal N-methyl-2-pyridinecarboxamide unit showed a change of the carbonyl orientation from anti to syn with retention of cis conformation.  相似文献

This paper describes the retention behavior of oligolysine and oligoarginine peptides of different lengths as a function of heptafluorobutyric acid (HFBA) concentration in ion-pairing reversed-phase chromatography in isocratic elution. A mixture of oligolysine and a mixture of oligoarginine with number of amino acid residues (dp) from two to eight were conveniently prepared by one-pot protease-catalyzed synthesis. Analysis of the logarithm of the retention factor k as a function of [HFBA] for each oligopeptide component, using a closed pairing model, provided values for (1) number (n) of paired HFBA anions per peptide molecule, (2) equilibrium constant (K ip,m) for ion pairing between oligopeptides and HFBA anions, and (3) product of the phase ratio and the distribution constant of the paired oligopeptide between the mobile and stationary phases (βK d,ip). We found that βK d,ip of oligoarginine is larger compared with oligolysine having the same dp. A linear relationship was obtained for ln βK d,ip as a function of n?+?g?·?dp. By optimizing constant g separately for oligolysine and oligoarginine, we determined that g is larger for oligoarginine, in agreement with the higher hydrophobicity of arginine residues. Plotting the fraction of paired oligoarginine and oligolysine as a function of [HFBA] shows that the cooperative effect in forming ion pairs is greater for oligoarginine than oligolysine.
