The incorporation of acrylic functionality into caffeine enables the preparation of a vast array of novel thermoplastics and thermosets. A two‐step derivatization provided a novel caffeine‐containing methacrylate monomer capable of free radical polymerization. Copolymers of 2‐ethylhexyl methacrylate and caffeine methacrylate (CMA) allowed for a systematic study of the effect of covalently bound caffeine on polymer properties. 1H NMR and UV‐vis spectroscopy confirmed caffeine incorporation at 5 and 13 mol %, and SEC revealed the formation of high molecular weight (co)polymers (>40,000 g/mol). CMA incorporation resulted in a multistep degradation profile with initial mass loss closely correlating to caffeine content. Differential scanning calorimetry, rheological, and thermomechanical analysis demonstrated that relatively low levels of CMA increased the glass transition temperature, resulting in higher moduli and elucidating the benefits of incorporating caffeine into polymers. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This study describes the first palladium-catalyzed, site-selective α- and γ-arylation of α,β-unsaturated ketones with (hetero)aryl halides. A wide range of hetero(aryl)halides coupled with α,β-unsaturated ketones, and transformation into the arylated products proceeded with excellent to good yields. The site selectivity of the reaction is switchable by simply changing the phosphine ligand to access either α-arylated or γ-arylated products in good to excellent yields by using a low catalyst loading, and the method demonstrates good functional-group compatibility.  相似文献

We study arbitrage opportunities, market viability and utility maximization in market models with an insider. Assuming that an economic agent possesses an additional information in the form of an \(\mathscr {F}_T\)-measurable discrete random variable G, we give criteria for the no unbounded profits with bounded risk property to hold, characterize optimal arbitrage strategies, and prove duality results for the utility maximization problem faced by the insider. Examples of markets satisfying NUPBR yet admitting arbitrage opportunities are provided. For the case when G is a continuous random variable, we consider the notion of no asymptotic arbitrage of the first kind (NAA1) and give an explicit construction for unbounded profits if NAA1 fails.  相似文献

Abstract

The new 1,1-disubstituted 3-diphenoxy(thio)phosphoryl-(thio)ureas, R1R2NC(X)NHP(0Ph)2, HA, with X,Y = O,S, were synthesized by addition of secondary mines to the corresponding P-iso(thio)cyanates. This reaction is reversible if X,Y = S. (PhO)2P(Y)Cl reacts with H2NC(X)NR2 in the presence of an HCl acceptor only if X,Y a 0. Side reactions are observed. Phosphorylated derivatives of biuret were isolated from such a reaction mixture.  相似文献

Halothane binding to hydrated dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC) bilayer membranes has been examined over a wide range of pressures from 105 to 4?×?108?Pa. We show that the solvation of halothane by the membrane and bulk water are both pressure dependent, with an increased pressure driving halothane into the membrane. Analysis of these results shows that this pressure dependence is not the cause of pressure reversal, the process whereby general anaesthetics lose their efficacy at pressures of about 8?×?106 to about 2.5?×?107?Pa.  相似文献

With a coating of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and Chinese herbal medicine granules in KBr pellets could be analyzed by Fourier Transform Infra-red (FT-IR) spectroscopy and Surface-assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization mass spectrometry (SALDI-MS). FT-IR spectroscopy allows fast detection of major active ingredient (e.g., acetaminophen) in OTC drugs in KBr pellets. Upon coating a thin layer of AuNPs on the KBr pellet, minor active ingredients (e.g., noscapine and loratadine) in OTC drugs, which were not revealed by FT-IR, could be detected unambiguously using AuNPs-assisted LDI-MS. Moreover, phytochemical markers of Coptidis Rhizoma (i.e. berberine, palmatine and coptisine) could be quantified in the concentrated Chinese medicine (CCM) granules by the SALDI-MS using standard addition method. The quantitative results matched with those determined by high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection. Being strongly absorbing in UV yet transparent to IR, AuNPs successfully bridged FT-IR and SALDI-MS for direct analysis of active ingredients in the same solid sample. FT-IR allowed the fast analysis of major active ingredient in drugs, while SALDI-MS allowed the detection of minor active ingredient in the presence of excipient, and also quantitation of phytochemicals in herbal granules.  相似文献

One new β-carboline alkaloid 7-methoxy-(9H-β-carbolin-1-il)-(E)-1-propenoic acid (1) together with 9-methoxycanthin-6-one (2) and 9-hydroxycanthin-6-one (3) were isolated from the hairy-root cultures of Eurycoma longifolia. The effects of these compounds on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW264.7 cells were investigated. Compound 1 strongly inhibited the production of NO while 2 and 3 having weak or inactive effect. Consistently, compound 1 decreased the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthase.  相似文献
