A convergent total synthesis of the marine natural product dysiherbaine was accomplished. The key steps of the synthesis are an alkylation at the gamma-carbon of a protected glutamate with a highly substituted pyran derived from mannose, which was followed by a ring-contraction cascade reaction, which simultaneously gave the tetrasubstituted carbon and the hexahydrofuro[3,2-b]pyran ring system of the natural product.  相似文献

Droop, the decrease of efficiency with increased power density, became a major topic with InGaN LEDs, after its introduction in 2007. This paper provides insight into droop in localized center luminescence phosphors, exemplified here by Eu2+ doped materials. This topic is of increasing importance, as high brightness blue LEDs have reached outputs >1 W/mm2. The nonlinearities in phosphor quantum efficiency result in drive‐dependent color point shift and reduction of overall efficiency of phosphor converted white LEDs which utilize Eu2+ activated phosphors. The efficiency quenching can be traced back to two processes, well‐known in laser physics, excited state absorption or/and cross relaxation by Foerster/Dexter transfer. Both processes lead to reduction in phosphor efficiency, but they can be differentiated. Understanding the root cause of efficiency quenching opens ways to minimize the practical consequences. The synthesis of porphyrins having high solubility in organic solvents requires the presence of long chain aliphatic substituents. Such substituted porphyrins are readily prepared in good yields by extension of our general procedure1 which involves the synthesis of α,β-unsaturated ketones, conversion of these to 3,4-disubstituted pyrroles followed by acid catalyzed condensations of these pyrroles with formaldehyde in the presence of air.  相似文献

The reaction of cyclo-l-cystine with thiolate is examined at the B3LYP/6-31+G level. The two isomers of cyclo-l-cystine differ in their dihedral angle about the disulfide bond; the M isomer (with dihedral angle of -90.1 degrees) is found to be slightly lower in energy. The nucleophilic substitution reaction at sulfur follows the addition-elimination mechanism, exemplified by the hypercoordinate sulfur intermediate on the reaction surface. The reaction is exergonic (DeltaG = -6.16 kcal mol(-1)), and both the entrance and exit transition state lie below the reactant energies.  相似文献

The tricyclic title compound, a symmetrical dispiro oxygen heterocycle, was isolated as a byproduct in the hydrogenation of furfuryl alcohol in the presence of hydrochloric acid. NMR studies and single crystal X‐ray analysis have established the relative stereochemistry of the two ketal carbons. Formation of the observed trans stereoisomer under equilibrating conditions is attributed to the anomeric effect.  相似文献

In learning and memory tasks, requiring visual spatial memory (VSM), males exhibit superior performance to females (a difference attributed to the hormonal influence of estrogen). This study examined the influence of phytoestrogens (estrogen-like plant compounds) on VSM, utilizing radial arm-maze methods to examine varying aspects of memory. A series of low-spin, six-coordinate complexes [Fe(TBzTArP)L(2)]X (1) and [Fe(TBuTArP)L(2)]X (2) (X = Cl(-), BF(4)(-), or Bu(4)N(+)), where the axial ligands (L) are HIm, 1-MeIm, DMAP, 4-MeOPy, 4-MePy, Py, and CN(-), were prepared. The electronic structures of these complexes were examined by (1)H NMR and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy as well as density functional theory (DFT) calculations. In spite of the fact that almost all of the bis(HIm), bis(1-MeIm), and bis(DMAP) complexes reported previously (including 2) adopt the (d(xy))(2)(d(xz), d(yz))(3) ground state, the corresponding complexes of 1 show the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) ground state at ambient temperature. At lower temperature, the electronic ground state of the HIm, 1-MeIm, and DMAP complexes of 1 changes to the common (d(xy))(2)(d(xz), d(yz))(3) ground state. All of the other complexes of 1 and 2 carrying 4-MeOPy, 4-MePy, Py, and CN(-) maintain the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) ground state in the NMR temperature range, i.e., 298-173 K. The EPR spectra taken at 4.2 K are fully consistent with the NMR results because the HIm and 1-MeIm complexes of 1 and 2 adopt the (d(xy))(2)(d(xz), d(yz))(3) ground state, as revealed by the rhombic-type spectra. The DMAP complex of 1 exists as a mixture of two electron-configurational isomers. All of the other complexes adopt the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) ground state, as revealed by the axial-type spectra. Among the complexes adopting the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) ground state, the energy gap between the d(xy) and d(π) orbitals in 1 is always larger than that of the corresponding complex of 2. Thus, it is clear that the benzoannelation of the porphyrin ring stabilizes the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) ground state. The DFT calculation of the bis(Py) complex of analogous iron(III) porphyrinate, [Fe(TPTBzP)(Py)(2)](+), suggests that the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) state is more stable than the (d(xy))(2)(d(xz), d(yz))(3) state in both ruffled and saddled conformations. The lowest-energy states in the two conformers are so close in energy that their ordering is reversed depending on the calculation methods applied. On the basis of the spectroscopic and theoretical results, we concluded that 1, having 4-MeOPy, 4-MePy, and Py as axial ligands, exists as an equilibrium mixture of saddled and ruffled isomers both of which adopt the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) ground state. The stability of the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) ground state is ascribed to the strong bonding interaction between the iron d(xy) and porphyrin a(1u) orbitals in the saddled conformer caused by the high energy of the a(1u) highest occupied molecular orbital in TBzTArP. Similarly, a bonding interaction occurs between the d(xy) and a(2u) orbitals in the ruffled conformer. In addition, the bonding interaction of the d(π) orbitals with the low-lying lowest unoccupied molecular orbital, which is an inherent characteristic of TBzTArP, can also contribute to stabilization of the (d(xz), d(yz))(4)(d(xy))(1) ground state.  相似文献
