Synthesis of 2‐Aryl‐5‐oxo‐4‐[2‐(phenylmethylidene)hydrazino]‐2,5‐dihydro‐1H‐pyrrole‐3‐carboxylates by the Reaction between Hydrazones,Acetylenedicarboxylates, and 1‐Aryl‐N,N′‐bis(arylmethylidene)methanediamines

An efficient approach for the preparation of functionalized 2‐aryl‐2,5‐dihydro‐5‐oxo‐4‐[2‐(phenylmethylidene)hydrazino]‐1H‐pyrroles is described. The four‐component reaction between aldehydes, NH₂NH₂?H₂O, dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates, and 1‐aryl‐N,N′‐bis(arylmethylidene)methanediamines proceeds in EtOH under reflux in good‐to‐excellent yields (Scheme 1). The structures of 4 were corroborated spectroscopically (IR, ¹H‐ and ¹³C‐NMR, and EI‐MS, and, in the case of 4f , by X‐ray crystallography). A plausible mechanism for this type of reaction is proposed (Scheme 2).

(N-Isocyanimino)triphenylphosphorane-Mediated,One-Pot,Efficient Synthesis of Sterically Congested 1,1,1-Trifluoro-2-(5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)-2-propanol Derivatives via Intramolecular Aza-Wittig Reaction

Reactions of (N-isocyanimino)triphenylphosphorane with 1,1,1-trifluoroacetone in the presence of aromatic (or heteroaromatic) carboxylic acids (3-methylbenzoic acid, 1-naphthalenecarboxylic acid, 2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid, 2-furancarboxylic acid, and 2-thiophenecarboxylic acid) proceed smoothly at room temperature and in neutral conditions to afford sterically congested 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-(5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)-2-propanol derivatives in high yields. The reaction proceeds smoothly and cleanly under mild conditions, and no side reactions were observed.

MAGNESIUM HYDROGEN SULFATE POWDER CATALYZED STEREOSELECTIVE CONVERSION OF DIALKYL 2-(IMIDO-N -YL)-3-(TRIPHENYLPHOSPHORANYLIDENE)- BUTANEDIOATES TO ELECTRON-POOR (Z)-N -VINYLIMIDES IN SOLVENT-FREE CONDITIONS

Magnesium hydrogen sulfate powder was found to catalyze stereoselective conversion of dialkyl 2-(imido-N-yl)-3-(triphenylphosphorany-lidene)butanedioates to electron-poor (Z)-N-vinylimides in solvent-free conditions at 95°C 1 h in high conversions. Microwave also was found to catalyze the same reactions in the presence of magnesium hydrogen sulfate powder in solvent-free conditions in 3 min.

The synthesis of 3-(4-alkyl-4,5-dihydropyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoxalin-4-yl)-2H-chromen-2-one derivatives by a three-component reaction of salicylaldehyde, β-keto esters, and 1-(2-aminophenyl)pyrrole using piperidine–iodine as a dual system catalyst is reported. Good yields, mild reaction conditions, and ease of handling are the main aspects of the method. The structural assignments are supported by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, and X-ray crystallography data.
