Ten enantiomerically pure hydroindene-derived compounds obtained by the transformation of (+)-carotol, the main constituent of carrot seed essential oil, were examined for their ability to inhibit the growth of myeloid leukaemia (HL-60) cancer cell lines. All compounds showed significant activity, which was comparable to the most active volatile organic compounds, such as transtrans-farnesol, citral and nerolidol. Based on the bioactivity and molecular modelling, a 3D QSAR pharmacophore model was generated.  相似文献

A novel method, recently proved useful for the synthesis of nanoparticles, has been now used for the preparation of very stable silver iodide–trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium chloride ionanofluids. Only the ionic liquid and the AgI bulk powder were needed. Synthesized nanofluids are much more stable than those obtained by simple dispersion of the nanoparticles in the base fluid. The ionanofluids were synthesized at different concentrations (up to 50 % w/w) and characterized in terms of physical, electrical, and thermal properties (density, viscosity, refractive index, electric conductivity, and specific heat capacity). A very high increase in the electric conductivity of the base ionic liquid was expected due to the high concentration of nanoparticles achieved. Nonetheless, it was not found, probably due to the reduction of ions mobility caused by the increase of the viscosity in ionanofluids with concentrations over 20 % w/w. An appropriate characterization of nanoparticles composing the nanofluids was carried out (UV–Vis absorbance, shape and size distribution). The diameter of the particles was measured and calculated by different techniques and approximations, obtaining a value of 2–4 nm. They were spherical, well-defined, and not agglomerated, with a narrow size distribution. The X-ray powder diffraction confirmed that no structural change took place in the transformation of the bulk solid to nanoparticles.  相似文献

Laser light reflection during the laser transmission welding (LTW) of thermoplastics has the potential to overheat and/or cause unintentional welding of adjacent features of the part being welded. For this reason, and in order to assess how much light is being absorbed by the transparent part (after measurement of the light transmitted through the transparent part), it is important to be able to quantify the magnitude and distribution of reflected light. The magnitude and distribution of the reflected light depends on the total laser input power as well as its distribution, the laser incidence angle (angle between the normal to the transparent part surface and the laser beam), the laser light polarization as well as the surface and optical properties of the transparent part. A novel technique based on thermal imaging of the reflected light was previously developed by the authors. It is used in this study to characterize the magnitude and distribution of reflected light from thermoplastics as a function of thickness (1–3.1 mm), laser incidence angle (20–40°) and surface roughness (0.04–1.04 μm). Results from reflection tests on nearly polished nylon 6 (surface roughness between 0.04 and 0.05 μm) have shown that, for the various thicknesses tested (1–3.1 mm), the total reflection was larger than the specular top surface reflection predicted via the Fresnel relation. From these observations, it is conjectured that, in addition to top surface reflection, the bulk and/or bottom surface also contribute to the total reflection. The results also showed that reflection decreased slightly with increasing thickness. As expected, for the p-polarized light used in this study, the reflection decreased with increasing angle of incidence for the range of angles studied. It was also found that when the surface roughness was close to zero and when it was close to the wavelength of the input laser beam (i.e. 940 nm), the reflectance values were close and reached a minimum between these two roughness values.  相似文献

Colorimetric peroxidase-coupled procedures for the determination of several cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) lipid classes are described. These methods were modified to increase the effectiveness of each cerebrospinal fluid lipid assay by using the sample as the primary diluent for a highly concentrated reagent in an inverse concentration technique. Direct enzymic assays for the determination of CSF cholesterol (free and total), choline phospholipids, and triglycerides were adapted from existing assays to require less than 0.5 ml of sample per assay. This made determinations of the several lipid analytes possible even when samples were from pediatric specimens. In a study model, 51 pediatric CSF samples were analyzed for these lipid constituents. Mean values and standard deviations were determined. Within and between-run studies were performed by sampling from a pool of cerebrospinal fluid specimens. Within-run coefficients of variation for the several proposed procedures were less than 3% while the between-run findings for all of the procedures were less than 5%.  相似文献

A capillary electrophoresis method has been developed to measure fenofibrate in capsules based on micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography with detection at 280 nm using a borate buffer containing sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). However, the metabolite of this drug (fenofibric acid) in serum and whole blood was analyzed by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) in a borate-carbonate buffer using acetonitrile stacking. The analysis is rapid, < 7 min with no interferences. Incubation of fenofibrate in whole blood caused hydrolysis of the ester bond with the release of fenofibric acid.  相似文献

A new Li-Al-N-H system for reversible hydrogen storage   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Complex metal hydrides are considered as a class of candidate materials for hydrogen storage. Lithium-based complex hydrides including lithium alanates (LiAlH(4) and Li(3)AlH(6)) are among the most promising materials owing to its high hydrogen content. In the present work, we investigated dehydrogenation/rehydrogenation reactions of a combined system of Li(3)AlH(6) and LiNH(2). Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of Li(3)AlH(6)/3LiNH(2)/4 wt % TiCl(3)-(1)/(3)AlCl(3) mixtures indicated that a large amount of hydrogen (approximately 7.1 wt %) can be released between 150 degrees C and 300 degrees C under a heating rate of 5 degrees C/min in two dehydrogenation reaction steps. The results also show that the dehydrogenation reaction of the new material system is nearly 100% reversible under 2000 psi pressure hydrogen at 300 degrees C. Further, a short-cycle experiment has demonstrated that the new combined material system of alanates and amides can maintain its hydrogen storage capacity upon cycling of the dehydrogenation/rehydrogenation reactions.  相似文献
