We consider the dynamics of the lowest order transversal vibration mode of a suspension bridge, for which the hangers are treated as one-sided springs, according to the model of Lazer and McKeena [SIAM Review 58, 1990, 537]. We analyze in particular the multi-stability of periodic attractors and the basin of attraction structure in phase space and its dependence with the model parameters. The parameter values used in numerical simulations have been estimated from a number of bridges built in the United States and in the United Kingdom, thus taking into account realistic, yet sometimes simplified, structural, aerodynamical, and physical considerations.  相似文献

Two insect colonies of Elasmopalpus lignosellus were reared in our laboratory, the first being initiated from pupae obtained from a cornfield in the region of Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais and the second from a cornfield in the region of Goiania, Goiás. From the two colonies, two extracts were prepared from the pheromone glands of virgin E. lignosellus females. The extract obtained from the first colony was designated as extract 1 while the extract obtained from the second colony was designated as extract 2. Extract 1 was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with (Z)-9-hexadecenyl acetate [(Z)-9-HDA] and (Z)-11-hexadecenyl acetate [(Z)-11-HDA] being identified and confirmed by the formation of DMDS derivatives. In addition, a third acetate, which could be either (E)-8-hexadecenyl acetate [(E)-8-HDA] or (E)-9-hexadecenyl acetate [(E)-9-HDA] was detected by GC-MS. Extract 2 was analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-electroannetography (GC-EAD) revealing the presence of (Z)-11-HDA and (Z)-9-TDA. In addition, the same compounds elicited a response with the E. lignosellus male antenna obtained from the second insect colony. Electroantennography (EAG) screening with the male E. lignosellus antenna (obtained from the second insect colony) was conducted with the 23 possible tetradecenyl acetates (TDA) and 22 hexadecenyl acetates (HDA) as standards. Out of the 23 TDA isomers evaluated, only (Z)-9-TDA elicited a response and out of the 22 HDA [(Z) and (E) isomers gamma2 to delta13] evaluated only (Z)-11-HDA elicited a response. The acetate compositions of two extracts obtained from insects originating from the two states (Minas Gerais and Goiás) of Brazil were different from one another as well as from that obtained from insects in Tifton, GA, USA. The bioactivity data (GC-EAD) of the extract 2 differed from those reported for the Tifton, GA, USA population. These data suggest polymorphism in relation to the insect populations found in Brazil and in the USA. The possibility of the existence of an E. lignosellus sub-species cannot be ruled out.  相似文献

Two-electron reduction of some substituted 1,2-dithiole-3-thiones 1 followed by alkylation of the dianionic intermediates leads through electrosynthesis to mixture of Z and E isomers of the corresponding substituted alkyl-(3-thioalkyl)-2-propenedithioates 2, 3 in satisfactory yield. The structure of those products was established by 13C and 1H nmr and mass spectroscopy. The isomers ratios were determined by nmr spectroscopy.  相似文献

A detailed NMR study and full assignments of the 1H and 13C spectral data for two novel triterpenoid saponins isolated from the stem bark of Pentaclethra macroloba (Willd.) Kuntze are described. Their structures were established using a combination of 1D and 2D NMR techniques including 1H,1H-COSY, TOCSY, NOESY, gs-HMQC and gs-HMBC, and also electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and chemical methods. The structures were established as 3beta-O-([O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->2)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->3)-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->2)]-[O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->3)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)])-alpha-L-arabinopyranosylhederagenin (1) and 3beta-O-)[O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->2)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->3)-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->2)]-[O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->3)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)])-alpha-L-arabinopyranosyloleanolic acid (2).  相似文献

Ultraviolet (UV) spectrophotometric and nonaqueous volumetric methods are described for the determination of carvedilol in pharmaceutical formulations. Linearity, precision, and accuracy were evaluated according to the validation guidelines of the International Conference on Harmonization and the United States Pharmacopeia for both methods. The UV spectrophotometric procedure was performed in ethanol at 244 nm. Good linearity was obtained between 2 and 7 microg/mL with a correlation coefficient of 0.9999. The intra- and interday precision values were <2% for all samples analyzed. The accuracy, determined from recovery studies, was between 97.5 and 102.2%. The other procedure was based on the volumetric quantitation of carvedilol in a nonaqueous medium with 0.01 M perchloric acid and 1% violet crystal as the indicator. The validation of the volumetric method yielded good results that included linearity (r of > 0.999), precision (relative standard deviations of <2% for intra- and interday precision), and accuracy (96.4-102.4%). The methods were applied to tablets and compounded capsules. Statistical analysis by analysis of variance showed no significant difference between the results obtained by the proposed methods.  相似文献

The liquid‐phase esterification of acetic acid and isoamyl alcohol has been studied to develop a kinetic model using a sequential experimental design based on the divergence criterion. Data come from batch reactor experiments, performed in the temperature range of 316–363 K. Discrimination among 36 possible kinetic models, written in terms of activity, mole fractions, and molar densities, is possible through the deviance information criterion, as estimated by a Markov chain Monte Carlo technique. The obtained results indicate a negligible heat of reaction and a clear autocatalytic effect of acetic acid on the esterification rate. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Many networks of physical and biological interest are characterized by a long-range coupling mediated by a chemical which diffuses through a medium in which oscillators are embedded. We considered a one-dimensional model for this effect for which the diffusion is fast enough so as to be implemented through a coupling whose intensity decays exponentially with the lattice distance. In particular, we analyzed the bursting synchronization of neurons described by two timescales (spiking and bursting activity), and coupled through such a long-range interaction network. One of the advantages of the model is that one can pass from a local (Laplacian) type of coupling to a global (all-to-all) one by varying a single parameter in the interaction term. We characterized bursting synchronization using an order parameter which undergoes a transition as the coupling parameters are changed through a critical value. We also investigated the role of an external time-periodic signal on the bursting synchronization properties of the network. We show potential applications in the control of pathological rhythms in biological neural networks.  相似文献

Thermogravimetric analysis (TG) curves of cement pastes and mortars are obtained by default on their respective initial sample mass basis. This fact does not allow a direct comparison of TG data of percentual mass losses due to the dehydration of a same hydrated component of differently aged pastes or mortars of same cement because the initial masses of the differently aged sample usually have different initial compositions. To solve this problem, one can transform the original thermal analysis curves from the initial sample mass basis to the initial cement mass basis, to have the same composition basis for any hydration time. This paper presents in detail how this can be done graphically and analytically and applies the method to study the evolution of cement hydration during the first 28 days of pastes and mortars prepared from the same type II cement. It also shows how to compare quantitatively the main cement hydrated phases formed during solidification and setting processes of pastes and mortars with different initial compositions as a function of hydration time.  相似文献

This work reports the use of matrices containing Cratylia mollis lectins (Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose and Cramoll 3-Sepharose) for isolation of glycoproteins from fetal bovine serum, human colostrum, hen egg white, and human blood plasma. Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose was able to bind a glycoprotein from fetal bovine serum which showed the same fetuin electrophoretic profile. The data indicate that this protein adsorbed to the matrix by interaction with Cramoll 3. Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose was not efficient to retain glycoproteins from human colostrum or commercial ovalbumin. Cramoll 3-Sepharose bound ovalbumin, and the support retained protein from hen egg white. Protein peaks eluted from the column with 1.0 M NaCl or 0.3 M galactose showed apparent molecular mass of ovalbumin. Two main proteins from blood plasma with apparent molecular mass 67 (similar to albumin) and 50 kDa (similar to fetuin) adsorbed on Cramoll 3-Sepharose and were eluted with 1.0 M NaCl as a single peak. Elution of adsorbed plasma proteins with 0.3 M galactose was less selective than with 1.0 M NaCl as revealed by SDS-PAGE. In conclusion, the Cramoll 1,2,3-Sepharose and Cramoll 3-Sepharose matrices were useful to separate glycoproteins from complex protein mixtures, and the adsorption phenomena was a carbohydrate-dependent event.  相似文献

In two Portuguese agricultural areas, "Beira Litoral" and "Ribatejo e Oeste", several pesticides regularly applied in vineyards, maize, potato, tomato for industry, apple, pear and rice were detected in ground water. Atrazine was the most frequently detected, being found in 70% of the total of 79 sites selected in the year 2000, followed by its metabolites desethylatrazine and desisopropylatrazine with frequencies of detection, respectively, of 56% and 48% and by simazine (37%), alachlor (25%), metolachlor (24%) and metribuzin (15%). Other pesticides and metabolites i.e. 3,4-dichloroaniline, dimethoate, f and g -endosulfan, lindane, molinate and prometryn were also detected but at lower occurrences. Pesticides were detected mainly in ground water wells used for irrigation purposes, although in some locations they were also found in water wells used for human consumption. In this study, it was also observed a seasonal variation of pesticide residues in ground water of shallow and deep wells.  相似文献
