The fluorescence lifetimes decays and picosecond time-resolved fluorescence spectra were measured to investigate the dynamics of the excited state of sulforhodamine B (SRB) molecules adsorbed in the mono- and multilayered Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of octadecylamine. Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy reveals that the fluorescence lifetimes and contents of the monomer and dimers in the molecular organizates depend upon the concentration of the dye in the solution and the adsorption process. SRB dye molecules adsorbed in LB films have been imaged with scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM). This information is exploited to map the distribution with molecular spatial resolution. SNOM provide the visual evidence of the monomers and dimers of SRB in cationic LB films.  相似文献

In 5-benzyl-1,7-di­methyl-4,5,6,7-tetra­hydro-1H-pyrazolo­[3,4-d]­pyrimidine-4,6-dione, C14H14N4O2, which crystallizes in space group P, weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate dimers. The isomeric compound 1-benzyl-5,7-di­methyl-4,5,6,7-tetra­hydro-1H-pyrazolo­[3,4-d]­pyrimidine-4,6-dione, C14H14N4O2, crystallizes in space group P21/n, and shows no such dimerization. Instead, it exhibits C—H⋯π interactions with the phenyl ring. In both structures, the mol­ecules are linked by aromatic π–π-stacking interactions.  相似文献

Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence (MEF) has become an important method in biomedical sensing. In this paper, we present the distance-dependent MEF of sulforhodamine B (SRB) monolayer on silver island films (SIFs). SRB is electrostatically incorporated into the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) layers of octadecylamine (ODA) deposited on glass and SIFs substrates. The distances between SRB and SIFs or glass surfaces are controlled by depositing a varied number of inert stearic acid (SA) spacer layers. SRB is incorporated into positively charged LB layers of ODA by immersing the ODA deposited substrates into aqueous solution of SRB. Dye incorporated ODA layers with 10 nm separation distance from the SIFs surface show maximum metal-enhanced fluorescence intensity; ~7-fold increase in intensity as compared to that from the glass surface. The corresponding enhancement factor is reduced with increasing or decreasing the probe distance from the SIFs surface. Additionally, SRB on SIF surfaces show reduced lifetimes. We observed the shortest lifetime from the SRB with 5 nm distance from the SIF surfaces and the lifetime increased consistently with increasing the distances between the fluorophore and the SIFs surface. These observed spectral changes, increase in fluorescence intensity and decreased fluorescence lifetimes, are in accordance with the expected effects due to near-field interactions between the silver nanoparticles and fluorophores. We have also analyzed the complex fluorescence heterogeneous decays on metallic nanostructured surfaces using continuous distributions of decay times. The decay-time distributions appear to be sensitive to the distance between the metal and fluorophore and represent the underlying heterogeneity of the samples. The present systematic study provides significant information on the effect of fluorophore distance on the metal-enhanced fluorescence phenomenon.  相似文献

We describe here a multicomponent reaction that converts aryl/heteroaryl aldehydes efficiently into arylmethylene 2-thiohydantoins. 3-Formylindole behaves exceptionally giving a gem-diacetylthio derivative. Magnetic microspheres are used as mobile substrates in micro-total-analysis systems (μTAS), since the particles can be selectively functionalized to attach different bioconjugates and can be precisely manipulated using external magnetic field gradients. A large number of MEMS-based bio-analytical devices employ magnetophoretic separation as an important step during their operation. An analytical technique is proposed in this paper that describes the magnetophoretic transport of magnetic microspheres under an imposed magnetic field when there is a pressure-driven or electroosmotic flow through a microchannel. Successful magnetophoretic capture occurs if the strength of the field-inducing magnetic dipole exceeds a critical value, or if the particles are larger than a critical size. The magnetophoretic separator performance is characterized in terms of capture efficiency. The analysis shows that the capture efficiency is a function of two independent non-dimensional parameters, λ and γ that in turn involve all the physical design and operating parameters of the microfluidic separator, e.g., the dipole strength, particle size and susceptibility, fluid viscosity and velocity, channel height, and the separation of the dipole. Parametric plots of capture efficiency as function of λ and γ helps in choosing the right design and operation parameter of a practical microfluidic separator for a target level of performance.  相似文献
