We discuss the peculiarities of the Seebeck effect in stabilized electrolytes containing the colloidal particles. Its unusual feature is the two stage character, with the linear increase of differential thermopower as the function of colloidal particles concentration n during the first stage (“initial state”) and dramatic drop of it at small n during the second one (“steady state”). We show that the properties of the initial state are governed by the thermo-diffusion flows of the mobile ions of the stabilizing electrolyte medium itself and how the colloidal particles participate in the formation of the electric field in the bulk of the suspension. In its turn, we attribute the specifics of the steady state thermoelectric effect the massive colloidal particles undergoing slow thermal diffusion and the break down of their electro-neutrality in the vicinity of electrodes.  相似文献

Interactions between carbonyl groups are prevalent in protein structures. Earlier investigations identified dominant electrostatic dipolar interactions, while others implicated lone pair n→π* orbital delocalisation. Here these observations are reconciled. A combined experimental and computational approach confirmed the dominance of electrostatic interactions in a new series of synthetic molecular balances, while also highlighting the distance-dependent observation of inductive polarisation manifested by n→π* orbital delocalisation. Computational fiSAPT energy decomposition and natural bonding orbital analyses correlated with experimental data to reveal the contexts in which short-range inductive polarisation augment electrostatic dipolar interactions. Thus, we provide a framework for reconciling the context dependency of the dominance of electrostatic interactions and the occurrence of n→π* orbital delocalisation in C=O⋅⋅⋅C=O interactions.  相似文献

Ketoreductases were utilized for the stereoselective synthesis of δ-hydroxy-β-keto esters, β-hydroxy-δ-keto esters, and β,δ-dihydroxy esters. Seven out of eight possible stereoisomers were obtained from the enzymatic reduction of the corresponding β,δ-diketo ester in high enantio- and diastereomeric excess.  相似文献

Many species of bacteria employ a mechanism of intercellular communication known as quorum sensing which is mediated by small diffusible signalling molecules termed autoinducers. The most common class of autoinducer used by Gram-negative bacteria are N-acylated-L-homoserine lactones (AHLs). Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a clinically important bacterium which is known to use AHL-mediated quorum sensing systems to regulate a variety of processes associated with virulence. Thus the selective disruption of AHL-based quorum sensing represents a strategy to attenuate the pathogenicity of this bacterium. Herein we describe the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of a collection of structurally novel AHL mimics. A number of new compounds capable of modulating the LasR-dependent quorum sensing system of P. aeruginosa were identified, which could have value as molecular tools to study and manipulate this signalling pathway. Worthy of particular note, this research has delivered novel potent quorum sensing antagonists, which strongly inhibit the production of virulence factors in a wild type strain of this pathogenic bacterium.  相似文献

We implemented a singly resonant optical parametric oscillator based on adhesive-free-bonded periodically inverted KTiOPO4 plates. It has major advantages such as walk-off compensation and oscillation at four wavelengths. The threshold of the oscillation was measured to be 8 MW/cm2, which is about a factor of 4 lower than that based in two separate KTiOPO4 crystals. By frequency-mixing the dual-wavelength output in GaP stacks, we generated the terahertz radiation at 2.54 THz. The tuning range of the terahertz output was demonstrated to be 2.19-2.77 THz.  相似文献

We report our results on effective third-harmonic generation (THG) by cascading quasi-phase-matched second-harmonic and sum-frequency generation in a dual-period-periodically-poled KTP crystal. Significant improvement of the output powers were achieved for the 440 nm blue light and 660 nm red light based on Q-switched frequency-tripling and frequency-doubling 1319-nm radiation inside an adhesive-free bond composite Nd:YAG laser. The highest output powers of 197 mW and 1.19 W were achieved for the blue and red light at the corresponding input powers of 12.9 and 17.1 W for the diode laser.  相似文献

Two new metabolites including a new aszonalenin analogue (1c) and a new meroditerpene (3) were isolated, together with aszonalenin (1a), acetylaszonalenin (1b), 13-oxofumitremorgin B (2), aszonapyrone A (4b) and helvolic acid, from the culture of the soil fungus Neosartorya fischeri (KUFC 6344). While the ethyl acetate extract of the culture of the diseased coral-derived fungus Neosartorya laciniosa (KUFC 7896) furnished aszonapyrone B (4a), aszonapyrone A (4b), tryptoquivaline L and 3′-(4-oxoquinazolin-3-yl) spiro[1H-indole-3,5′-oxolane]-2,2′-dione, the ethyl acetate extract of the culture of the marine sponge-associated fungus Neosartorya tsunodae (KUFC 9213) yielded a new analogue of chevalone C (5) and helvolic acid. The structures of the new compounds were established based on 1D and 2D NMR spectral analysis as well as HR-ESIMS. Compounds 1ac, 2, 3, 4a, 4b and 5 were evaluated for their in vitro growth inhibitory activity on the MCF-7 (breast adenocarcinoma), NCI-H460 (non-small cell lung cancer) and A375-C5 (melanoma) cell lines by the protein binding dye SRB method.  相似文献

The relative configuration of acyclic alpha-alkyl-beta-hydroxy carbonyl compounds can be determined by using (1)H NMR spectroscopy. The assignment can be achieved by recording the (1)H NMR spectrum of the syn-anti mixture. A biocatalytic cascade reaction was designed for the stereoselective synthesis of optically pure 2-alkyl-1,3-diols employing two enzymes. The cascade process consists of two consecutive steps: a stereoselective diketone reduction and a hydroxy ketone reduction. Chiral diols were formed by the addition of ketoreductases in the same vessel, in high stereoselectivity and chemical yield, without the isolation of the intermediate β-hydroxy ketones.  相似文献

We have demonstrated a compact and portable terahertz (THz) source, based on difference-frequency generation in a GaSe crystal. The two input frequencies, required for achieving frequency mixing, are generated by a single Q-switched Nd:YLF laser incorporating two laser resonators. The average power of the THz output reaches 1 μW at 1.64 THz (182 μm) within a linewidth of 65 GHz. Such a THz source can be packaged into a compact and portable system.  相似文献
