vic‐Tricarbonyl Compounds of Quinolines: Analogues of Ninhydrin: A Short Review

Derivatives of ninhydrin are extensively used in the field of forensic sciences as important latent fingerprint reagents. Many works have been performed upon their synthesis and reactivity, but there are many spaces to work on the compounds of quinoline‐2,3,4(1H)‐triones—analogues of ninhydrin, in both dimensions: synthesis and reactivity, and according to the best of our knowledge, not a single detailed or short compiled article has been published for these compounds. This review briefly summarizes the chemistry of quinoline‐2,3,4(1H)‐triones.

Facile,eco-friendly,one-pot protocol for the synthesis of indole-imidazole derivatives catalyzed by amino acids

An efficient, convenient green approach for the synthesis of indole-based 2,4,5-trisubstituted and 1,2,4,5-tetrasubstituted imidazoles by multicomponent reaction of substituted 2-arylindole-3-carbaldehydes, benzil, substituted anilines, and ammonium acetate using catalytic amino acid (glycine) in ethanol is described. Several amino acids have also been evaluated as organic catalysts for these reactions. The structures of the compounds have been established on the basis of infrared, mass, and ¹H NMR spectral data. The mild reaction conditions, inexpensive/economical reagents, and good yield show the usefulness of this approach.     

Facile synthesis of silver doped-copper oxide nano materials utilizing areca catechu (AC) leaf extract and their antidiabetic and anticancer studies

The present research highlights physical significance of green combination of metal oxide nanomaterials utilizing medicinal plant which has widely analyzed in different medical applications i.e., medicinal science, therapeutics. In this paper, we discussed environmentally benign approach for synthesizing silver doped copper oxide nanoparticles (Ag–CuO NPs) utilizing (ACLE). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) were utilized to confirm the size, crystalline structure and surface morphology of the obtained nanomaterials. The monoclinic crystalline structure of the Ag–CuO NPs as produced was revealed by XRD patterns. Morphological analysis disclosed the nano-based spherical configuration of Ag–CuO NPs, as well as their morphology and elemental composition. The anti-diabetic effect of Ag–CuO NPs was further investigated utilizing a yeast cell model and amylase inhibition. Here, a decrease in intracellular glucose and a delay in carbohydrate digestion indicate promising antidiabetic action. Furthermore, the prepared nanomaterial showed anticancer potential against the MCF-7 cancer cell line, with an IC ₅₀ value of 11.21 g/ml.     

Thermal radiation impact on magneto-hydrodynamic heat transfer micropolar fluid flow over a vertical moving porous plate: A finite difference approach

For this research, an examination on the magnetohydrodynamic flow of a micropolar fluid across a moving vertical porous plate for the presence of thermal radiation is achieved. It is necessary to translate the partial differential equations regulating the flow, heat, & mass transfer into dimensionless form employing proper non-dimensional variables, which are then cracked numerically by utilizing the Finite difference approach. Graphs are used to represent numerical values of various flow profiles; however, tables are used to represent the simulated values of rate coefficients. The velocity rises when the value of Grashof number, dimensionless viscosity ratio is raised, and the opposite effect is seen when the value of magnetic parameter, micro-gyration factor is raised. The result in skin friction coefficient improves when the values of magnetic parameter, micro-gyration factor, Prandtl number, and radiation are raised higher.     

Studies towards the total synthesis of hygrocins A and B

The western segment of hygrocins A–B has been synthesized through the coupling of a chiral C5–C13 synthon with the sterically demanding hexasubstituted naphthalenic core. The C5–C13 chiral fragment has been assembled via a stereoselective Johnson orthoester rearrangement of an optically pure allylic alcohol derived from d-glucose. Our studies lay the platform for the determination of the absolute configuration of the unassigned C8-stereocenter of the title compounds in addition to the completion of the total synthesis of the unique ansamacrolides hygrocins A and B.     

Studies toward the total synthesis of eletefine: an efficient construction of the AB ring system

Synthetic studies toward eletefine, a novel stephaoxocane alkaloid, were undertaken in an attempt to provide a general methodology to aid in the synthesis of other novel stephaoxocanes. An efficient construction of the AB ring system with increased functionality is described which presents a flexible approach to synthesizing the C and D rings of eletefine.     

Four-dimensional parameter estimation of plane waves using swarming intelligence

This paper proposes an efficient approach for four-dimensional(4D) parameter estimation of plane waves impinging on a 2-L shape array. The 4D parameters include amplitude, frequency and the two-dimensional(2D) direction of arrival,namely, azimuth and elevation angles. The proposed approach is based on memetic computation, in which the global optimizer, particle swarm optimization is hybridized with a rapid local search technique, pattern search. For this purpose,a new multi-objective fitness function is used. This fitness function is the combination of mean square error and the correlation between the normalized desired and estimated vectors. The proposed hybrid scheme is not only compared with individual performances of particle swarm optimization and pattern search, but also with the performance of the hybrid genetic algorithm and that of the traditional approach. A large number of Monte–Carlo simulations are carried out to validate the performance of the proposed scheme. It gives promising results in terms of estimation accuracy, convergence rate, proximity effect and robustness against noise.
