Studying the electrophysical parameters of a holographic microscope

In this work, the main parameters of a holographic microscope are studied with the aim of optimizing them. The optimum positions for the monochromatic electron-beam source with respect to the subject of research and for the screen detecting the interference pattern (the distance is 100 nm and 10 cm, respectively) are determined. The limiting thickness of the thin film of the subject of study (30 Å) at which the interference pattern can be observed is estimated. The main parameters of the coordinate-sensitive detector providing signal gain up to 105 at the output are calculated.

Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis of arylamine-containing 2,2′-bipyridine derivatives

The structures of six 2,2′-bipyridine derivatives containing aromatic amine moieties, namely N-aryl-4-aryl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[c]pyridine-3-amines, were studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The molecular structures and the effect of the substituents of these compounds on the crystal packing are discussed.

     

Search for tetrylene structures that can exhibit catalytic activity: a quantum chemical approach

We present the results of a quantum chemical study of a series of tetrylenes (silylenes, germylenes, and stannylenes), aimed at identifying structural and electronic factors affecting the width of the HOMO—LUMO energy gap. Compounds considered in this work contain atoms of Group 14 elements in both di- and tricoordinate states due to additional transannular interaction. They bear substituents bonded to the atom of the Group 14 element through atoms with and without lone electron pairs. It was found that tetrylenes stabilized by both additional transannular interaction and direct bonds between the atom of the Group 14 element and the heteroatom containing a lone electron pair (in this situation the ligand acts as n-donor) are characterized by wide HOMO—LUMO energy gaps, the gap in stannylenes always being narrower than in the related silylenes and germylenes. Localization of the HOMO and LUMO in certain tetrylenes is analyzed.

Effect of nonequilibrium processes in the infrasonic and ultrasonic regions of a nozzle on population inversion in flow of CO2 - N - O2 - H2O gas mixtures

The processes of oscillatory relaxation in flow through nozzles of CO₂, N₂, O₂, H₂O gas mixtures are studied. The effect of various oscillatory-oscillatory and osciallatory-translational exchange channels between mixture components and CO₂ intermode energy-exchange Channels on population inversion is examined. The importance of considering nonequilibrium processes in the infrasonic region of the nozzle is noted. The effect of inclined shock waves on flow characteristics in the supersonic nozzle region and population inversion is studied.
