Phase equilibria and distribution constants of metal ions in diantipyryl alkane-organic acid-hydrochloric acid-water systems

The ability of antipyrine and its derivatives (diantipyryl alkanes) to form separating systems in the presence of salicylic (sulfosalicylic) acid and hydrochloric acid and water is studied. The optimum volume of the organic phase, the composition of complexes, and the mechanism for the distribution of metal ions are determined, depending on the concentrations of the main components and the salting-out agent. The complex distribution and extraction constants are calculated.

Extraction of zirconium and hafnium from hydrochloric acid solutions with derivatives of diantipyrylmethane

Zirconium and hafnium are extracted quantitatively into chloroform, dichloroethane or nitrobenzene in the presence of hexyl-, nonyl- and o-nitrophenyl diantipyrylmethane from hydrochloric acid solutions ( 8 M) in the form of RMeCl₄ ,complexes. New methods of determining up to 1·10⁻⁴% zirconium in materials containing Mg, Be, Al, Y, Sc, La, Ce, Ti, Th, Cr, Ni, and other elements are suggested.

Classes of subsets of positive integers based on the notion of selector functions similar to the Jockusch selector of a semirecursive set are studied.     

Extraction of cobalt(ii) and zinc ions by the molten mixtures of diantipyrylalkanes and benzoic acid

The extraction of cobalt(II) and zinc ions with the molten mixtures of diantipyrylalkanes and benzoic acid from thiocyanate solutions was studied. Optimum conditions for phase separation, the formation of a melt, and the extraction of the metal ions were determined. The composition of the extracted complex compounds was found, and the mechanism of extraction was proposed.     

Extraction of mercury(II) ions with antipyrine and its derivatives from chloride solutions to chloroform

The extraction of 0.01 mol/L mercury(II) ions from chloride solutions to chloroform is studied in the presence of antipyrine (AP) and its condensed derivatives (diantipyrylmethane (DAM), propyldiantipyrylmethane (PDAM), and hexyldiantipyrylmethane (HDAM)). The optimal mercury extraction conditions are determined for AP and its derivatives. The composition of the extracted complexes is determined. With respect to their pH_1/2 and extraction capacities, the extractants are arranged in the following order: AP < DAM < PDAM < HDAM. The calculation of partial equilibrium constants and approximate partition constants is proposed.
