Relaxation dynamics of plasmons in Au−SiO2 core-shell nanoparticles have been followed by femtosecond pump-probe technique. The effect of excitation pump energy and surrounding medium on the time constants associated with the hot electron relaxation has been elucidated. A gradual increase in the electron-phonon relaxation time with pump energy is observed and can be attributed to the higher perturbation of the electron distribution in AuNPs at higher pump energy. Variation in time constants for the electron-phonon relaxation in different solvents is rationalized on the basis of their thermal conductivities, which govern the rate of dissipation of heat of photoexcited electrons in the nanoparticles. On the other hand, phonon-phonon relaxation is found to be much less effective than electron-phonon relaxation for the dissipation of energy of the excited electron and the time constants associated with it remain unaffected by thermal conductivity of the solvent.  相似文献

We consider three dimensional finite element computations of thermoelastic damping ratios of arbitrary bodies using Zener’s approach. In our small-damping formulation, unlike existing fully coupled formulations, the calculation is split into three smaller parts. Of these, the first sub-calculation involves routine undamped modal analysis using ANSYS. The second sub-calculation takes the mode shape, and solves on the same mesh a periodic heat conduction problem. Finally, the damping coefficient is a volume integral, evaluated elementwise. In the only other decoupled three dimensional computation of thermoelastic damping reported in the literature, the heat conduction problem is solved much less efficiently, using a modal expansion. We provide numerical examples using some beam-like geometries, for which Zener’s and similar formulas are valid. Among these we examine tapered beams, including the limiting case of a sharp tip. The latter’s higher-mode damping ratios dramatically exceed those of a comparable uniform beam.  相似文献

We demonstrate the method of averaging for conservative oscillators which may be strongly nonlinear, under small perturbations including delayed and/or fractional derivative terms. The unperturbed systems studied here include a harmonic oscillator, a strongly nonlinear oscillator with a cubic nonlinearity, as well as one with a nonanalytic nonlinearity. For the latter two cases, we use an approximate realization of the asymptotic method of averaging, based on harmonic balance. The averaged dynamics closely match the full numerical solutions in all cases, verifying the validity of the averaging procedure as well as the harmonic balance approximations therein. Moreover, interesting dynamics is uncovered in the strongly nonlinear case with small delayed terms, where arbitrarily many stable and unstable limit cycles can coexist, and infinitely many simultaneous saddle-node bifurcations can occur.  相似文献

Nanosheets of nickel with thickness equal to 0.6 nm have been grown within the interlayer spaces of Na-4 mica. The sheets are made up of percolative clusters of nanodisks. Magnetization characteristics indicate a superparamagnetic behavior with a blocking temperature of 428 K. The magnetic anisotropy constant as extracted from the coercivity data has been found to be higher than that of bulk nickel by two orders of magnitude. This is ascribed to a large aspect ratio of the nickel nanophase. The Bloch exponent is also found to be considerably different from that of bulk nickel because of a size effect. The Bloch equation is still found to be valid for the two dimensional structures.  相似文献

Simulations of three different 3-bed 3-step pressure swing adsorption (PSA) cycles were carried out to study the enrichment and recovery of 14CO from an isotopic mixture of 14CO, 13CO and 12CO using NaX zeolite. Each PSA cycle included feed pressurization/feed (FP/P), heavy reflux (HR) and countercurrent depressurization (CnD) steps; they differed only in the way the CnD step was carried out: PSA Cycle I was carried out under total reflux (i.e., with no 14CO heavy product production); PSA Cycle II was carried out with discontinuous 14CO heavy product production; and PSA Cycle III was carried out with continuous 14CO heavy product production. The effects of the CnD step valve coefficient (c v ), heavy reflux ratio (R R ), and cycle time (t cyc ) on the PSA process performance were determined in terms of the 14CO enrichment, 14CO recovery and CO feed throughput. The results showed that there was essentially no limit to the extent of the 14CO enrichment, despite the inherently low 14CO/12CO (1.05) and 14CO/13CO (1.12) separation factors for these isotopes on NaX zeolite. Under total reflux an optimum c v was found for the CnD step and 14CO enrichments as high as 152 were obtained. Using the optimum c v under finite reflux, a 14CO enrichment approaching 20 and a 14CO recovery approaching 100 % were easily achieved with discontinuous (PSA Cycle II) or continuous (PSA Cycle III) 14CO heavy product production. There was essentially no difference in the performance of PSA Cycles II and III, a counterintuitive result. The 14CO enrichment and the 14CO recovery both increased with decreasing CO feed throughputs and higher R R , which were always very close to unity.  相似文献

ZnO nanocrystals are synthesized using the quenching method. The properties of the grown nanocrystals are studied using ultraviolet-vis spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, photoluminescence, electron diffraction, energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. Current-voltage characteristics of the prepared samples are studied for investigating the possible application of the samples as switch and memristor.  相似文献

Patterning of sol gel based silica and silica–titania films has been developed at room temperature by soft lithographic technique. Corresponding metal alkoxides have been utilized for the preparation of precursor sols. Elastomeric stamps of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) are used to emboss patterns of a master grating on the as-prepared silica and silica–titania films obtained by sol gel process. Pressure-less capillary force lithography has been used to fabricate both 1-D and 2-D ordered structures of simple stripe patterns. A modified solvent assisted lithography and micro-molding in capillaries yielded stable and high fidelity 1-D structures for silica and silica–titania films over a large area.  相似文献
