Understanding the details of the electronic structure in face‐to‐face arranged tetrathiafulvalenes (TTFs) is very important for the design of supramolecular functional materials and superior conductive organic materials. This article is a comprehensive study of the interactions among columnar stacked TTFs using trimeric (trimer) and tetrameric (tetramer) TTFs linked by alkylenedithio groups (‐S(CH2)nS‐, n=1–4) as models of triple‐ and quadruple‐decker TTF arrays. Single‐crystal X‐ray analyses of neutral trimeric TTFs revealed that the three TTF moieties are oriented in a zigzag arrangement. Cyclic voltammetry measurements (CV) reveal that the trimer and tetramer exhibited diverse reversible redox processes with multi‐electron transfers, depending on the length of the ‐S(CH2)nS‐ units and substituents. The electronic spectra of the radical cations, prepared by electrochemical oxidation, showed charge resonance (CR) bands in the NIR/IR region (1630–1850 nm), attributed to a mixed valence (MV) state of the triple‐ and quadruple‐decker TTF arrays. In the trimeric systems, the dicationic state (+2; 0.66 cation per TTF unit) was found to be a stable state, whereas the monocationic state (+1) was not observed in the electronic spectra. In the tetrameric system, substituent‐dependent redox processes were observed. Moreover, π‐trimers and π‐tetramers, which show a significant Davydov blueshift in the spectra, are formed in the tricationic (trimer) and tetracationic (tetramer) state. In addition, these attractive interactions are strongly dependent on the length of the linkage unit.  相似文献

A treatment of cobalt oxide supported gold nanoparticles (Au/Co3O4) under syngas atmosphere effectively generated a cobalt carbonyl-like active species in the reaction vessel. The preparation of Au/Co3O4 was quite simple and the in situ generated cobalt species could be used as a stable and easy handling alternative for dicobalt octacarbonyl without bothersome purification prior to use. The reactions, which are sensitive to the purity of the dicobalt octacarbonyl, such as the alkoxycarbonylation of epoxides and the Pauson-Khand reaction, smoothly progressed with Au/Co3O4.  相似文献

Electric-field drive optical modulators using a Si ring resonator were fabricated on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) wafers. The fabricated resonators consisted of Si waveguides with width and thickness of 1.0 and 0.3 μm, respectively. In order to induce the linear electro-optic (EO) effect in the Si core layer, the strain was applied by covering the layer with Si3N4 film (0.26 μm thick) deposited by low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) at 750 °C. The vertical electric-field was applied to the Si waveguide through the top and bottom cladding layers, and the optical output from the drop port at the resonance wavelength was measured. At a wavelength of 1501.6 nm, the optical modulation of 33% was obtained at 200V (electric-field at the silicon surface ∼3 × 105 V/cm, nearly the breakdown field). The resonance wavelength was shifted toward the short wavelength side by applying both positive and negative voltages, this shift was explained by carrier concentration modulation. The linear EO effect in the Si core layer was not observed, presumably because the strain in the Si core layer was too small.  相似文献

Electronic conductivity of molecular wires is a critical fundamental issue in molecular electronics. π‐Conjugated redox molecular wires with the superior long‐range electron‐transport ability could be constructed on a gold surface through the stepwise ligand–metal coordination method. The βd value, indicating the degree of decrease in the electron‐transfer rate constant with distance along the molecular wire between the electrode and the redox active species at the terminal of the wire, were 0.008–0.07 Å?1 and 0.002–0.004 Å?1 for molecular wires of bis(terpyridine)iron and bis(terpyridine)cobalt complex oligomers, respectively. The influences on βd by the chemical structure of molecular wires and the terminal redox units, temperature, electric field, and electrolyte concentration were clarified. The results indicate that facile sequential electron hopping between neighboring metal–complex units within the wire is responsible for the high electron‐transport ability.  相似文献

A sterically demanding unsymmetrical pentafluorophenyl-triisopropylphenyl-λ3-iodane was developed as an effective reagent for the electrophilic pentafluorophenylation of various β-keto esters and a β-keto amide. 17 examples of α-pentafluorophenylated 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds 3 having a quaternary carbon center are provided. The resulting compounds were nicely transformed into chiral α-pentafluorophenyl ketones with an all-carbon stereogenic center in high yields and high enantioselectivities using asymmetric organocatalysis (up to 98 % ee) or asymmetric metal catalysis (up to 82 % ee).  相似文献
