A series of unsymmetrically substituted N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors ( 1a , 1b , 1c , 1d , 1e ) were synthesized from the reaction of N‐phenylbenzimidazole with various alkyl halides. These compounds were used to synthesize NHC–silver(I) complexes ( 2a , 2b , 2c , 2d , 2e ). The five new 1‐phenyl‐3‐alkylbenzimidazolium salts ( 1a , 1b , 1c , 1d , 1e ) and their NHC–silver complexes ( 2a , 2b , 2c , 2d , 2e ) were characterized by the 1H NMR, 13C NMR and FT‐IR spectroscopic methods and elemental analysis techniques. Also, the two NHC–silver complexes 2b and 2c were characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography, which confirmed the linear C―Ag―Cl arrangements. The antibacterial activities of the NHC precursor and NHC–silver complexes were tested against three Gram‐positive bacterial strains (Bacillus subtilis, Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus) and three Gram‐negative bacterial strains (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) using the microdilution broth method. The NHC–silver complexes showed higher antibacterial activity than the NHC precursors. In addition, silver complexes 2a , 2b , 2c , 2d showed high antibacterial activity against the Gram‐positive bacteria L. monocytogenes and S. aureus compared to the standard, tetracycline. Papain is a protease enzyme with therapeutic properties that are very valuable for medical applications. Poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) is an ideal polymeric carrier for controlled drug delivery systems due to its low biodegradability and its high biocompatibility. In this study, the three-dimensional structure and action mechanism of papain were investigated by in vitro and in silico experiments using molecular dynamics (MD) and molecular docking methods to elucidate biological functions. The results showed that the size of papain-loaded PCL nanoparticles (NPs) and the polydispersity index (PDI) of the NPs were 242.9 nm and 0.074, respectively. The encapsulation efficiency and loading efficiency were 80.4 and 27.2%, respectively. Human embryonic kidney cells (HEK-293) were used for determining the cytotoxicity of papain-loaded PCL and PCL nanoparticles. The in vitro cell culture showed that nanoparticles are not toxic at low concentrations, while toxicity slightly increases at high concentrations. In silico studies, which were carried out with MD simulations and ADME analysis showed that the strong hydrogen bonds between the ligand and the papain provide stability and indicate the regions in which the interactions occur.  相似文献

Electroinitiated polymerization of N-vinylcarbazole has been accomplished by constant potential electrolysis. It was found that direct electron transfer from the monomer to the anode initiates the polymerization even at a potential as low as +0.95 V versus Ag?/ Ag+. Dichloromethane was used as the solvent, and the electrolyte was tetrabutylammonium fluoroborate. Conversions as high as 86% were reached even when a microelectrode was used. Effects of electrode area, temperature, and electrode potential on polymerization were studied. Percent conversion was followed by cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

Thermodynamic properties of the mixed spin-1 and spin-1/2 Ising–Heisenberg model are studied on a honeycomb lattice using a new approach in the mean-field approximation to analyze the effects of longitudinal D_z and transverse D_x crystal fields. The phase diagrams are calculated in detail by studying the thermal variations of the order parameters, i.e., magnetizations and quadrupole moments, and compared with the literature to assess the reliability of the new approach. It is found that the model yields both second-and first-order phase transitions, and tricritical points. The compensation behavior of the model is also investigated for the sublattice magnetizations, and longitudinal and transverse quadrupolar moments. The latter type of compensation is observed in the literature but its possible importance is overlooked.  相似文献

Modification of glassy carbon (GC) surfaces with phenanthroline derivatives (PDs) such as 5‐amino‐1,10‐phenanthroline (5AP) and 5,6‐diamino‐1,10‐phenanthroline (56DAP) is described in this study. Surface modification experiments were performed by cyclic voltammetry (CV) scanning from + 1.2 to + 2.7 V at scan rate of 100 mV/s applying 30 potential scans in acetonitrile (CH3CN) containing 1 mM PDs and 100 mM tetrabutylammoniumtetrafluoroborate (TBATFB). The presence of PDs on GC electrode was confirmed using CV, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), contact angle measurements and ellipsometry and comparing with the results of bare GC electrode. A mechanism was proposed for the electrochemical modification of the GC electrode surface with PDs. The structure of the 5AP and 56DAP films was also discussed in the light of electrochemical and spectroscopic data. The complex‐forming ability of the modified surfaces against metal cations was investigated by square‐wave voltammetry (SWV). It was shown that surfaces having 1,10‐phenanthroline ligands with different functional groups were quite useful for the determination of transition metal ions. We prove that arbitrary (nonpolynomial) scalar evolution equations of order    m  ≥ 7  , that are integrable in the sense of admitting the canonical conserved densities   ρ(1), ρ(2)  , and   ρ(3)   introduced in [ 1 ], are polynomial in the derivatives    u m −  i    for  i  = 0, 1, 2. We also introduce a grading in the algebra of polynomials in     u k     with     k  ≥  m  − 2    over the ring of functions in     x ,  t ,  u , … ,  u m −3    and show that integrable equations are scale homogeneous with respect to this grading .  相似文献

The molecular and crystal structure of (Z)-6-((4-bromophenylamino)methylene)-2,3-dihydroxycyclohexa-2,4-dienone were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction and spectroscopic methods. Molecules of the compound can be regarded as a resonance hybrid of cis-keto tautomer and zwitterionic form. Pairs of molecules of the compound generate pseudocyclic centrosymmetric R22 (10) R_{2}^{2} (10) supramolecular synthons with the aid of O–H···O type intermolecular H-bonds. Stacking of R22 (10) R_{2}^{2} (10) synthons along b-axis is stabilized by π···π interactions. Changes in both covalent topology and molecular geometry of the compound accompanying proton transfer were monitored by a relaxed PES scan with respect to hydroxyl bond length used as redundant internal coordinate. Quantum chemical studies at 6-311 + G(d,p) level reveal that bond lengths which are indicative to tautomerization process cannot reach their expected values even if proton transfer occurs in gas phase and pseudo-aromatic chelate ring formation has primary effect on the stabilization of NH tautomer. Resonance-assisted intramolecular H-bond affects the electronic state of its neighboring aromatic fragments.  相似文献

Abstract  

Some molecules having a molecular skeleton similar to that of stilbenes and azobenzenes show orientational disorder in the crystals due to pedal motion. Heretofore, the orientational disorder through pedal motion has been observed for the compounds containing only two aromatic rings in the absence of bulky substituent groups. Here we report that the pedal motion can be detected even in the presence of a bulky substituent group to which orientational disorder becomes invisible as a result of anchor effect arising from phenoxyphtalonitrile group. X-ray crystallographic analysis of the compound, C23H18N4O, reveals the existence of partially overlapped two pedal conformers. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 12.9429(11) Å, b = 8.5075(5) Å, c = 21.063(2) Å and β = 123.155(6)°. Major pedal conformer is stabilized by weak C–H···O type hydrogen bond and C–H···π type edge-to-face interactions in solid state. Quantum chemical calculations at B3LYP/6-311G+(d,p) level suggest that the stabilization of the compound decreases with increasing deviation from the planar geometry of trans-azobenzene fragment.  相似文献
