Neutron reflection from a helical system

Analytical expressions for neutron reflection and transmission by magnetic mirrors with helical magnetization are derived. Reflectance curves with and without neutron spin flip are presented. Resonant properties of helical systems are studied.     

Investigations in the region of 2,3′-biquinolyl 4. Alkylation of the dianion of 2,3′-biquinolyl

With alkyl chlorides and alkyl phenyl ethers the dianion of 2,3-biquinolyl forms the products from alkylation at position 4. Their treatment with alkyl halides or water gives 1, 4-dialkyl-1, 4-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls or 4-alkyl-1,4-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls respectively.For communication 3, see [1].Stavropol State University, Stavropol, Russia 355009. Thiophene conversion in the BIMF process

Catalytic conversion of an oil distillate with the added extra amounts of thiophene over a zeolite catalyst was studied. The rate of the catalyst deactivation was found to increase with the increase in the thiophene concentration in the feed. A possible pathway of the thiophene conversion is discussed.     

Studies in the area of 2,3′-biquinolyl. 1. Arylation and hetarylation of 2,3′-biquinolyl dianion

The 2,3-biquinolyl dianion, when reacting with aryl- and hetaryl halides, forms arylation products at the 4 position, and treatment of these products with alkyl halides or water yields 1-alkyl-4-aryl-1,4-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls or 4-aryl-1,4-dihydro-2,3-biquinolyls, respectively. Oxidation of the latter yields 4-aryl-2,3-biquinolyls. The cation dependence of the arylation reaction is demonstrated.Stavropol' State University, Stavropol' 355009. Methods for producing 195m Pt isomer

Among nuclides, ^195m Pt isomer is characterized by a number of properties that make it suitable for use in nuclear medicine. Effective ways of optimizing the Pt isomer yield at low impurity contents must be sought. The method based on double neutron capture by the ¹⁹³Ir target nucleus with subsequent populating of ^195m Pt through β decay allows chemical isolation of the isomer. In this work, the problem is analyzed, test experiments on Ir activation with neutrons are conducted, and theoretical estimates of the ^195m Pt yield are presented. Full-scale model experiments on the IBR-2 reactor in Dubna should confirm the effectiveness of the method.
