Silicone has been utilized as a carrier material for sustained release system of lipophilic drugs. Extensive studies revealed that drug release rate is influenced by factors such as physicochemical properties of the drug and additives.(1-5)) When a lipophilic drug is highly potent at low concentrations, the drug release rate should be strictly controlled so as to avoid side effects. In this study, using vitamin D(3) (VD(3)) as an example of such drugs, we investigated novel method to suppress initial burst and to modify drug release rate from silicone matrix. As a result, it was found that (a). addition of human serum albumin (HSA) suppressed initial burst and enhanced release rate in the later stage, resulting constant release of VD(3), (b). covering a matrix formulation with a membrane of low diffusivity (core-rod formulation) suppressed initial burst and released drug in a constant rate, and (3) using materials for which the drug has high affinity as dissolution solvent (reservoir formulation), the drug release rate was reduced.  相似文献

The unstable species aminoborane, BH2NH2, has been identified as a reaction product of ammonia with diborane by microwave spectroscopy. The rotational constants determined are A = 138212 ± 4 MHz, B = 27487.83 ± 0.10 MHz and C = 22878.44 ± 0.11 MHz for 11BH2NH2 and A = 138199 ± 6 MHz, B = 28420.36 ± 0.11 MHz and C = 23520.78 ± 0.12 MHz for 10BH2NH2. To aid in designing high-speed optical networks, the fundamental limitations of lightwave transmission systems are investigated from the viewpoint of fibre nonlinearities, particularly of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). When SBS occurs, the fibre launch power is usually restricted; thus, SBS is detrimental to lightwave systems. The effects of SBS on signals transmitted in fibres are clarified for several modulation schemes, especially coherent modulation schemes. A generalized model based on the maximum power spectrum density in the signals is proposed to estimate the degree of SBS generation. The maximum repeaterless transmissions for various bit rates, laser diode linewidths, and Brillouin gains of optical fibres are presented. The degradation of transmission due to SBS is clarified experimentally, focusing on the bit error rate, fibre input power, and spectra of signals transmitted in fibres. In addition, various techniques for suppressing the SBS effects are proposed. A repeaterless transmission experiment conducted over 364.3 km using optical booster amplifiers is presented to verify the effectiveness of the SBS suppression technique.  相似文献

The microwave spectra of four isotopic species of dichlorine monoxide (OCl2) have been observed, and the rotational constants have been obtained. The rm structure for each isotopic species has been determined by Watson's method. The equilibrium structure has been estimated by taking proper averages of rm structures to be re(OCl) = 1.69587(7) A? and ∠eClOCl = 110.886(6)°. The general applicability and the merit of the present method for estimating the equilibrium structure are pointed out.  相似文献

Water-soluble, relatively light-stable, chiral and achiral silver(I) complexes [[Ag(2)(ca)(2)]](n) and [[Ag(2)(ca)(2)(Hca)(2)]](n)(R- and S-Hca =(1R,4S)- and (1S,4R)-4,7,7-trimethyl-3-oxo-2-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-1-carboxylic acid, respectively) prepared from the reaction of Ag(2)O with chiral and racemic Hca in 1:2 and 1:4 molar ratios were characterized by elemental analysis, TG/DTA, FTIR, and solution ((1)H, (13)C and (109)Ag) and solid-state ((13)C) NMR spectroscopy. Crystallography revealed that unique 2(1) helical polymer and zigzag structures were formed on self-assembly of the dimeric units in the crystals of [[Ag(2)(S-ca)(2)]](n) and three [[Ag(2)(ca)(2)(Hca)(2)]](n). In the crystal of [[Ag(2)(S-ca)(2)]](n) two 2(1) helices and a loop were observed in the stair-like polymer structure, whereas zigzag and a loop were seen in the crystals of three [[Ag(2)(ca)(2)(Hca)(2)]](n). Carbon NMR spectra in the solid state and in D(2)O indicated that these polymeric structures were loosely bound and fast ligand-exchange reactions took place in aqueous solution. The complexes, [[Ag(2)(ca)(2)]](n) and [[Ag(2)(ca)(2)(Hca)(2)]](n), showed a wide spectrum of effective antimicrobial activity as anticipated for weak silver(i)-O bonding complexes. Similar antimicrobial activity of [[Ag(2)(ca)(2)]](n) and [[Ag(2)(ca)(2)(Hca)(2)]](n) against selected microorganisms suggested that ligand exchangeability played an important role as well as the coordination geometry of the silver(i) ion.  相似文献

Kinetics and mechanism of the hydrogen abstraction reaction between trifluoromethyl formate, CF3OCHO, and OH radical have been investigated by using ab initio molecular orbital theory up to G2(MP2) level. The hydrogen abstraction rate constant has been calculated for the first time over a temperature range of 250–450 K by using standard transition state theory including the tunneling correction. Arrhenius parameters of the reaction have been estimated from the temperature dependence of the calculated rate constant. The calculated value for the rate constant (2.0 × 10?14 cm3 molecule?1 s?1) at 298 K is found to be in very good agreement with the recent experimental results. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Sufficient conditions are obtained for uniform stability and asymptotic stability of the zero solution of two-dimensional quasi-linear systems under the assumption that the zero solution of linear approximation is not always uniformly attractive. A class of quasi-linear systems considered in this paper includes a planar system equivalent to the damped pendulum x′??+ h(t)x??+ sin x = 0, where h(t) is permitted to change sign. This paper considers a Lotka–Volterra predator–prey model with predators receiving an environmental time-variation. For such a system, a unique interior equilibrium is shown to be globally asymptotically stable if the time-variation is bounded and weakly integrally positive. Our result tells that the equilibrium can be stabilized even by nonnegative functions that make the limiting system structurally unstable. Numerical simulations are also shown to illustrate the result and to suggest that cases with time-variation acting on predators have larger-scale convergence to the equilibrium than population dynamics with time-variation acting on prey.  相似文献
