Four kidney stones collected from patients being treated in the Advance Urology Centre of PGIMR, Chandigarh were characterized using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA), energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. For INAA, samples were irradiated in tray rod facility of Dhruva reactor, Mumbai and pneumatic fast transfer system of KAMINI reactor, IGCAR, Kalpakkam. Radioactive assay was carried out using HPGe detector coupled to 8k channel analyzer. Elements determined in the samples by INAA are Zn, Sr, Co, Fe, Cr, Sc, Se, Na and Mn. EDXRF was used for the quantification of Ca. XRD patterns showed that three of the kidney stones are calcium oxalate stone and the other one is uric acid stone. The concentrations of trace elements in general were found to be higher in calcium oxalate stones and positive correlation was observed in the concentrations of Ca with Sr and Zn. 相似文献

We report dynamic light scattering and small angle neutron scattering studies of the pressure-induced structural transition
of nonionic micelles of surfactant polyoxyethylene 10 lauryl ether (C12E10) in the pressure range 0 to 2000 bar. Measurements
have been performed on 1 wt% C12E10 in aqueous solution with and without the addition of KF. Micelles undergo sphere to lamellar
structural transitions as the pressure is increased. On addition of KF, rod-like micelles exist at ambient pressure, which
results in rod-like to lamellar structural transition at a much lower pressure in the presence of KF. Micellar structural
transitions have been observed to be reversible.

Hydrophobic silica aerogels possesses potential applications as insulating materials for refrigerators, furnaces and thermos
flasks. In such applications, aerogel materials may get exposed for longer time to atmosphere and the adsorbed water content
from surroundings may deteriorate its properties. Therefore, hydrophobicity of the arogels becomes crucial parameter and needs
to be evaluated critically. In the present works, silica alcogels were prepared using the mixture of tetramethoxysilane and
methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) as precursor chemicals for silica. The concentration of MTMS, which is used as hydrophobic reagent,
in the said mixture of silicon alkoxide was varied between 0 and 100% in steps of 25%. After gelation, the alcogels were dried
supercritically by solvent extraction method. Resulted aerogels were exposed to relative humidity of 90% for a period of one
month which were then characterized to assess hydrophobicity by the contact angle using water drop method and adsorbed water
content measurements by Karl Fischer’s Titration method. Observed contact angle and water content measurements were compared

Using a right-angled magnetic air prism, we have achieved a separation of ~10 arcsec between ~2 arcsec wide up and down-spin peaks of 5.4 Å neutrons. The polarised neutron option has thus been introduced into the SUSANS instrument. Strongly spindependent SUSANS spectra have been observed over ±1.3 × 10?4 Å?1 range for several magnetic alloy samples. Spatial pair-distribution functions for the up and down-spins as well as the nuclear and magnetic scattering length density distributions in the micrometer domain, have been deduced from these spectra. 相似文献

In this paper, we show that self-similarity with respect to the existence of a (purely radial) homothetic Killing vector field for spherically symmetric spacetimes implies the separability of the spacetime metric in terms of the co-moving coordinates (and vice versa) and that the metric is, uniquely, the one recently reported in (Class. Quantam Grav. 18: 2147–2162; 2001). This spacetime, in general, has non-vanishing energy flux and shear. An interesting feature of this spacetime, in contrast to other self-similar spherically symmetric spacetimes (not reducible to our form) is that it has an arbitrary radial distribution of matter. 相似文献

The transport processes can be discussed either by kinetic equation method or by correlation function method. Using the former, linear transport equations are developed for the study of dynamic conductivity of a quantum imperfect gas employing a resolution of BBGKY hierarchy using Green functions. From this transport equation a modified form of Kubo (correlation function) formula is obtained to show the equivalence between the two methods. This equivalence may be used for the justification of the concept of adiabatic switching of the field. The simple formula derived, gives the conductivity in terms of one-particle Green function, unlike the usual discussions which express it in higher order Green functions. 相似文献
