Cation-induced collapse of low-molecular-weight polyacrylic acid in the dispersion of barium titanate

Observations on the steric layers formed by the adsorption of low-molecular-weight polyacrylic acid (PAA) were taken using the colloidal probe method in an atomic force microscope. The effects of divalent barium ions and of monovalent potassium ions at varying concentrations were observed on the repulsive interaction profiles. High ionic concentrations screened double-layer forces to small distances, whereby the acting forces were reduced to steric interactions. De Gennes scaling theory was used to model the effect of electrolyte on an aqueous barium titanate system, which was stabilized with PAA. The brush model was found to represent the force curves better than the mushroom model. The collapse of PAA layers with increasing salt approximated a grafted polymer brush in monovalent electrolyte, but the addition of barium ions caused markedly less steric collapse. It is suggested that the formation of a Ba(2+)-PAA complex in the adsorbed layer increases its compressibility parameter.     

Halochrome Molekeln 8. Mitteilung. Synthese und acidobasisches Verhalten von 3′-substituierten 6,11-Dihydrospiro[[1]benzopyrano[4,3-b]indol-6,9′−9′H-xanthenen]

Halochromic Molecules. Synthesis and Acidobasic Properties of 3′-substituted 6,11-dihydrospiro[[1]benzopyrano[4,3-b]indol-6,9′?9′9′H-xanthenes] We have synthesized a series of 3′-substituted 6,11-ihydrospiro[6H-chromeno[4,3-b]indol–6,9′?9′H-xanthenes] and one of their respective aza analogues. ¹H-MR data as well as the fragmentation in the mass spectra of starting and final products supported the postulated structures. With acid, the spiro compounds form ring-opened intensely coloured xanthylium salts. UV/VIS spectra of these salts are listed and discussed. The ?_pH* curves in buffered MeOH/H₂O solutions and the pK* values are determined. The title compounds could possibly be used in ‘pressure sensitive papers’.

结合内蒙古地区现状，对沙棘的生物学和生态学特性、沙棘属植物化学成分和微量元素及种植沙生植物——沙棘的重要性和必要性进行了详细的研究和探讨。研究表明，沙棘属植物具有极强的生态适应性并富含多种营养成分和生物活性物质，并以耐干旱、耐瘠薄、萌蘖及固氮能力强等特点被称为治理非宜林地水土流失、改善生态环境的先锋树种。种植沙棘是治理内蒙古脆弱生态环境最经济、最有效的措施，是贫瘠的不毛之地发展经济、增加收入的经济树种。另外．种植沙棘的技术简便，容易掌握，投资少，见效快。
