Probabilistic properties of spiking time-series obtained in vivo from singular neurons belonging to Red Nucleus of brain are analyzed for two groups of rats: genetically defined rat model of depression (Flinders Sensitive Rat Line - FSL) and a control (healthy) group. The FSL group shows a distribution of interspike intervals with a much longer tail than that found for normal rats. The former distribution (for the FSL group) indicates a power-law with exponent α = - 1±0.1. A simple thermodynamic (noise) model is elaborated to explain obtained results. We have developed the transparent photoactive TiO2 thin film coated on soda lime glass (SLG) by sol-gel process. Titanium dioxide thin films coated on SLG exhibit lower photocatalytic activity due to the thermal diffusion of Na ion from the SLG substrate. Thin SiO2 film precoating is very effective to prevent the thermal diffusion of Na ion. We have evaluated the photocatalytic decomposition of gaseous acetaldehyde and the photo-induced surface wettability of TiO2 films with and without SiO2 precoating layer. As expected, the TiO2 film on SiO2/SLG is more photoactive to decompose acetaldehyde than that on SLG. However, as for wettability conversion, there was little difference in the conversion rate between TiO2 film without SiO2, and TiO2 film with SiO2. Different dependence of Na ion diffusion on two kinds of photo-induced reaction on TiO2 is discussed based on the difference of the photo-induced reaction mechanism.  相似文献

Nonlinear statistical properties of Ventral Tegmental Area (VTA) of limbic brain are studied in vivo. VTA plays key role in generation of pleasure and in development of psychological drug addiction. It is shown that spiking time-series of the VTA dopaminergic neurons exhibit long-range correlations with self-averaging behavior. This specific VTA phenomenon has no relation to VTA rewarding function. Last result reveals complex role of VTA in limbic brain. Effects of electric field on the rheology, electrorheological effects, are investigated on ferroelectric smectic C* phase of 4-(6-methyl)octyl-resorcylidene-4′-octylaniline (MORA-8). When an electric field is applied in smectic C* phase, an increase of the shear stress is observed with its behavior depending on the shear rates; at higher shear rates the shear stress increases monotonously with the electric field strength, but at lower shear rates the shear stress increases monotonously until about 2 kV mm−1, but above this field it discontinuously decreases to lower values, which is followed by an increase at higher electric fields. In close vicinity of the smectic C* to isotropic phase transition point, a field induced decrease of the shear stress is observed. These ER behaviors are discussed on the basis of the field induced orientational changes of the smectic layer and the director and a possible field induced structural change.  相似文献

We analyze alternating traffic crossing a narrow one-lane bridge on a two-lane road. Once a car begins to cross the bridge in one direction, arriving cars from the other direction must wait, forming a queue, until all the arrivals in the first direction finish crossing the bridge. Such a situation can often be observed when road-maintenance work is being carried out. Cars are assumed to arrive at the queues according to independent Poisson processes and to cross the bridge in a constant time. In addition, once cars join the queue, each car needs a constant starting delay, before starting to cross the bridge. We model the situation where a signal controls the traffic so that the signal gives a priority to one direction as long as a new car from the same direction arrives in a fixed time. For this model, we get a closed form for the first two moments of the waiting time of cars arriving at the bridge, and then numerically obtain Pareto optimal solutions of holding times to minimize the mean waiting time and its standard deviation. The oxidation processes of [n]cycloparaphenylenes ([n]CPPs) (n=5–12) were systematically investigated by cyclic and rotating disk electrode voltammetry. All CPPs underwent pseudo‐reversible two‐electron oxidation irrespective of ring size, forming the corresponding radical cations and then dications. The results were in sharp contrast to those observed for linear oligoparaphenylenes, which only undergo one‐electron oxidation. The difference in the first and second oxidation potentials in the CPP oxidation was affected by the ring size and became more significant as the decrease of CPP size. In other words, while the first oxidation from neutral CPP to the radical cation occurred faster as the size of CPP becomes smaller, the second oxidation from the radical cation to dication exhibited opposite size dependence.  相似文献

Using results of a direct numerical simulation (DNS) of 3D turbulence we show that the observed generalized scaling (i.e. scaling moments versus moments of different orders) is consistent with a lognormal-like distribution of turbulent energy dissipation fluctuations with moderate amplitudes for all space scales available in this DNS (beginning from the molecular viscosity scale up to largest ones). Local multifractal thermodynamics has been developed to interpret the data obtained using the generalized scaling, and a new interval of space scales with inverse cascade of generalized energy has been found between dissipative and inertial intervals of scales for sufficiently large values of the Reynolds number. The pressure spectrum in homogeneous steady turbulence is studied using direct numerical simulation with resolution up to 1024(3) and the Reynolds number R(lambda) between 38 and 478. The energy spectrum is found to have a finite inertial range with the Kolmogorov constant K = 1.65+/-0.05 followed by a bump at large wave numbers. The pressure spectrum in the inertial range is found to be approximately P(k) = B(p)epsilon;(4/3)k(-7/3) with B(p) = 8.0+/-0.5, and followed by a bump of nearly k(-5/3) at higher wave numbers. Universality and a new scaling of the pressure spectrum are discussed.  相似文献
