This article reviews recent topics on the polymerization of substituted acetylenes, focusing on the synthesis of poly(diphenylacetylenes) and the living polymerization of phenylacetylenes. Diphenylacetylene (DPA) polymerizes with TaCls-n-Bu4Sn to give a polymer which is thermally very stable but insoluble in any solvents. DPAs with various groups (e.g.,p-Me3Si,m-Me3Ge, p-t-Bu,and_p-PhO) polymerize similarly. These polymers are soluble and their M¯w's reach 1 × 106 to 3 × 106. Some of them are more gas-permeable than poly(dimethylsiloxane). Several acetylenes (e.g., ClC -n-C6H13 and HCUC-t-Bu) have been found to undergo living polymerization with MoOCl4-n-Bu4Sn-EtOH. Whereas phenylacetylene (PA) does not polymerize in a living fashion, ortho-substituents in PA more or less suppress termination and chain transfer. Oxygen-sensitive and near-infrared (NIR) luminescent YbIII coordination polymers incorporating ligands based on pyrene derivatives were synthesized: YbIII–TBAPy and YbIII–TIAPy (TBAPy: 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(p-benzoate)pyrene; TIAPy: 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(3,5-isophthalic acid)pyrene). The coordination structures of these materials have been characterized by means of electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. Moreover, the porous structure of YbIII–TIAPy has been evaluated by measuring its N2 adsorption isotherm. The NIR luminescence properties of YbIII–TBAPy and YbIII–TIAPy have been examined by acquiring emission spectra and determining emission lifetimes under air or argon and in vacuo. YbIII–TIAPy exhibited high thermal stability (with a decomposition temperature of 400 °C), intense luminescence (with an emission quantum yield under argon of 6.6 %), and effective oxygen-sensing characteristics. These results suggest that NIR luminescent YbIII coordination polymers prepared using pyrene derivatives could have applications in novel thermo-stable oxygen sensors. 相似文献

Generally, cage-shaped hosts for saccharides can bind strongly to guest molecules because of the three-dimensional preorganized hydrogen-bonding sites. However, the preparation of cage molecules is often difficult because of the low yield of the macrocyclization step. Here, we report a three-arm-shaped molecule possessing pyridine-acetylene-phenol units as a new kind of host having a preorganized three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding site. This three-arm-shaped host was readily prepared compared to a cage-shaped analogue. This host associated with lipophilic glycosides to form chiral complexes, and the association constants were sufficiently high as to be comparable to those of the cage-shaped analogue. In this study, we have demonstrated a two-legged, upright molecular design method for monochromatic and bright red luminescent LnIII-silica nanomaterials. A novel EuIII-silica hybrid nanoparticle was developed by using a doubly binding TPPO−Si(OEt)3 (TPPO: triphenyl phosphine oxide) linker. The TPPO−Si(OEt)3 was confirmed by 1H, 31P, 29Si NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray analysis. Luminescent Eu(hfa)3 and Eu(tfc)3 moieties (hfa: hexafluoroacetylacetonate, tfc: 3-(trifluoromethylhydroxymethylene)camphorate) were fixed onto TPPO−Si(OEt)3-modified silica nanoparticles, producing Eu(hfa)3(TPPO−Si)2-SiO2 and Eu(tfc)3(TPPO−Si)2-SiO2, respectively. Eu(hfa)3(TPPO−Si)2−SiO2 exhibited the higher intrinsic luminescence quantum yield (93 %) and longer emission lifetime (0.98 ms), which is much larger than those of previously reported EuIII-based hybrid materials. Eu(tfc)3(TPPO−Si)2−SiO2 showed an extra-large intrinsic emission quantum yield (54 %), although the emission quantum yield for the precursor Eu(tfc)3(TPPO−Si(OEt)3)2 was found to be 39 %. Blue-phase liquid crystals form three-dimensional structures in a self-organizing manner and are similar to living tissue structures such as the teeth of mice and collagen tissues. This study presents numerical results regarding the conditions under which blue-phase liquid crystals occur. The Monte Carlo simulations are performed by employing an improved Lennard–Jones potential that considers anisotropy and chirality. The conditions for the formation of the blue phase, which vary with respect to the chirality, are examined first. The relationship between the anisotropic parameters and the chiral parameter for the formation of the blue phase is discussed. Identical blue-phase structures are obtained, even when the cell size and molecular number are varied drastically. This discussion is useful for considering the scale-up problem, which is almost always a difficult issue for molecular-scale simulations. 相似文献

5,11-Diazadibenzo[hi,qr]tetracene was synthesized as a new nitrogen-substituted polycyclic heteroaromatic compound by Pd-catalyzed cycloisomerization of an alkyne precursor followed by oxidative cyclization with bis(trifluoroacetoxy)iodobenzene. The substitution of imine-type nitrogen atoms significantly enhanced its electron-accepting character and facilitated the direct nucleophilic addition of arylamines under strongly basic conditions to afford the desired amino-substituted products. The introduction of amino groups induced a remarkable red-shift in their absorption spectra; the tetrasubstituted product exhibited intense near-infrared absorbing property. Furthermore, the π-electronic system, which includes a redox-active 1,4-diazabutadiene moiety, underwent reversible interconversion to its corresponding reduced form upon reduction with NaBH4 and aerobic oxidation. 相似文献
