Liquid-liquid phase equilibria of the ternary systems: (a) polyethylene glycol - ammonium sulfate- water and (b) polyethylene glycol - sodium carbonate -water have been determined experimentally at 15°, 25°, 35° and 45°C and for two different molecular weights of the polymer (Avg. M.W. 1000 and 2000). Details of the glass cell and of the equilibration and analytical procedures used are described. Equilibrium data along with phase diagrams are presented. Finally the effect of temperature and of the molecular weight of the polymer are also discussed.  相似文献

In this paper a cubic lattice L(S) is endowed with a symmetric implication structure and it is proved that L(S) \ {0} is a power of the three-element simple symmetric implication algebra. Some non-singlet quasi-instabilities (QIs) cases that arise in the calculation of NMR-J parameters are analyzed within response theory. The relationship between ‘very close to zero’ eigenvalues of the principal propagator and the rate of convergency for specific coupling pathways is shown by a power series implemented to calculate the principal propagator matrix. A natural criterion for the analysis of the stability problem emerges from that series. This is more general and accurate compared with previous proposals. Its relationship with π-type molecular orbitals is given. We present an alternative scheme to minimize the effects of non-singlet QIs in such a way that the NMR-J parameters become close to the best theoretical calculations for H2CX (X=CH2, NH and O).  相似文献

In this paper we study the Navier–Stokes boundary‐initial value problem in the exterior of a rotating obstacle, in two and three spatial dimensions. We prove the local in time existence and uniqueness of strong solutions. Moreover, we show that the solutions are global in time, in two spatial dimensions. A new method based on frontier orbital theory has been used to investigate the binding site of molecular oxygen to neutral and anion copper clusters. It has been shown that one can make useful predictions of the binding sites based on the knowledge of the donor local reactivity of the cluster using the condensed Fukui function, f(-)(Ff). In this way, it was found that Cu(3), Cu(5), and Cu(5)(-) have the highest reactivity toward molecular oxygen.  相似文献

When a mixture is confined, one of the phases can condense out. This condensate, which is otherwise metastable in the bulk, is stabilized by the presence of surfaces. In a sphere-plane geometry, routinely used in atomic force microscope and surface force apparatus, it can form a bridge connecting the surfaces. The pressure drop in the bridge gives rise to additional long-range attractive forces between them. By minimizing the free energy of a binary mixture we obtain the force-distance curves as well as the structural phase diagram of the configuration with the bridge. Numerical results predict a discontinuous transition between the states with and without the bridge and linear force-distance curves with hysteresis. We also show that similar phenomenon can be observed in a number of different systems, e.g., liquid crystals and polymer mixtures.  相似文献

In this paper we study Liuoville type results for the system of elliptic equations $$ - \Delta u = F(u) u \geqslant 0, u \ne 0 in R^N ,$$ when the function $F:\bar R_ + ^m \to \bar R_ + ^m $ is regular, quasi-monotone, fully coupled and has suberitical growth. WhenF has a radial dependence on the space variable we also prove symmetry results. The nonexistence theorems of the nature studied here have consequences on existence results on bounded domains, through the blow-up technique and degree theory.
