The increase in the flexural capacity of RC beams obtained by externally bonding FRP composites to their tension side is often limited by the premature and brittle debonding of the external reinforcement. An in-depth understanding of this complex failure mechanism, however, has not yet been achieved. With specific regard to end-debonding failure modes, extensive experimental observations reported in the literature highlight the important distinction, often neglected in strength models proposed by researchers, between the peel-off and rip-off end-debonding types of failure. The peel-off failure is generally characterized by a failure plane located within the first few millimetres of the concrete cover, whilst the rip-off failure penetrates deeper into the concrete cover and propagates along the tensile steel reinforcement. A new rip-off strength model is described in this paper. The model proposed is based on the Chen and Teng peel-off model and relies upon additional theoretical considerations. The influence of the amount of the internal tensile steel reinforcement and the effective anchorage length of FRP are considered and discussed. The validity of the new model is analyzed further through comparisons with test results, findings of a numerical investigation, and a parametric study. The new rip-off strength model is assessed against a database comprising results from 62 beams tested by various researchers and is shown to yield less conservative results. High-resolution spectroscopic measurements were made using distributed feedback diode lasers. We measured line strength and pressure-induced broadening and shift for two lines, R(3) and P(4), of the first overtone (2?0) ro-vibrational band, for the two isotopomers H35Cl and H37Cl, according to their natural abundances; measurements were also made in the presence of foreign gases. Sunto Riferendosi ad un fluido perfetto, incompressibile e di conducibilità elettrica infinita, soggetto ad un campo magnetico stazionario opportunamente assegnato, si introducono le equazioni della magneto-idrodinamica espresse in generiche coordinate curvilinee ortogonali. Si ricercano poi delle opportune ipotesi sotto le quali per tali equazioni è possibile il calcolo completo del campo magneto-idrodinamico, che risulta propagarsi per onde non omogenee nella direzione del detto campo magnetico stazionario assegnato. The aim of this paper is to study the quasistatic limit of a one-dimensional model of dynamic debonding. We start from a dynamic problem that strongly couples the wave equation in a time-dependent domain with Griffith’s criterion for the evolution of the domain. Passing to the limit as inertia tends to zero, we find that the limit evolution satisfies a stability condition; however, the activation rule in Griffith’s (quasistatic) criterion does not hold in general, thus the limit evolution is not rate-independent.  相似文献

We investigate different opinion formation models on adaptive network topologies. Depending on the dynamical process, rewiring can either (i) lead to the elimination of interactions between agents in different states, and accelerate the convergence to a consensus state or break the network in noninteracting groups or (ii), counterintuitively, favor the existence of diverse interacting groups for exponentially long times. The mean-field analysis allows us to elucidate the mechanisms at play. Strikingly, allowing the interacting agents to bear more than one opinion at the same time drastically changes the model's behavior and leads to fast consensus.  相似文献

(+)-syn-Benzotriborneol forms stable complexes with one molecule of water. This is due to the ability of the host to form three hydrogen bonds with water, to act simultaneously as a hydrogen-bond acceptor and donor, and to a perfect geometrical match between the pair. We report experimental (X-ray and neutron diffraction, VT NMR, DSC, TGA) and stereochemical studies carried out to elucidate and quantify the molecular and thermodynamic aspects of this supramolecular complex.  相似文献

An exponential decay result for the solutionsu of the equation is proved under the hypotheses thatV converges to zero at infinity andf decays exponentially. This ensures that the eigenfunctions of the two body relativistic spinless Hamiltonian decay exponentially: this result parallels the well-known one valid in the non-relativistic case.
