Cyclic deformation of aluminium and its alloys

The formation of slip bands is the main mechanism of cyclic deformation in pure Al. Their density, orientation and heights in polycrystalline Al were investigated during cycling. Types, sizes and densities of precipitates are responsible for the mode of cyclic deformation in AlCu4 pure alloy. In technical Al alloys intermetallic phases have detrimental effects on deformation homogeneity and largely govern the fatigue mechanism of the material and especially microcrack initiation.

Reactions of β-aroylacrylic acids with 2-aminophenols

3,4-Dihydrobenzo-1,4-oxazin-2-ones were obtained from the corresponding β-aroylacrylic acids and 2-aminophenols. With 2-amino-4(5)-nitrophenols, stable intermediate β-amino adducts (4-aryl-4-oxobutyric acid derivatives) were isolated. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. 2-Methylthio-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-<Emphasis Type="Italic">a</Emphasis>]pyrimidin-5- and -7-Ones

The cyclocondensation of methylcinnamates and arylidene derivatives of Meldrums acid with 3-amino-5-methylthio-1,2,4-triazole in DMF gives 2-methylthio-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]-pyrimidin-5-ones. The reaction involving arylidene derivatives of Meldrums acid or its synthetic equivalents in ethyl acetate with a catalytic amount of pyridine gives a mixture of 2-methylthio-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-5- and -7-ones.__________Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 2, pp. 246–251, February, 2005.     

Diversity oriented heterocyclizations of pyruvic acids,aldehydes and 5-amino-<Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-aryl-1<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-pyrazole-4-carboxamides: catalytic and temperature control of chemoselectivity

Heterocyclization reactions of pyruvic acids, aromatic aldehydes and 5-amino-N-aryl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamides yielding four different types of final compounds are described. The reactions involving arylidenpyruvic acids lead with high degree of selectivity to either 4,7-dihydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-5-carboxylic acids or 5-[(2-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)amino]-1H-pyrazoles, depending on the catalyst type or temperature regime. The interactions based on arylpyruvic acids can take place under kinetic or thermodynamic control producing 7-hydroxy-4,5,6,7-tetrahydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-7-carboxylic acids or 3-hydroxy-1-(1H-pyrazol-5-yl)-1,5-dihydro-2H-pyrrol-2-ones, respectively.     

Alkylation of 3‐Phenyl‐1H‐pyrazolo[4,3‐c] quinoline: Theoretical Analysis of Regioselectivity

The interaction of 3‐phenyl‐1H‐pyrazolo[4.3‐c]quinoline with alkylating agents in the presence of NaH leads mainly to N1‐substituted derivatives. The regioselectivity of the reaction has been studied using AM1 semi‐empirical calculations in the isolated molecule approximation.     

Calculation of the molten pool depth in vacuum arc remelting of alloy Vt3-1

This paper is devoted to a simple heat model of vacuum arc remelting (VAR) including the solution of a nonlinear heat conduction equation with nonlinear boundary conditions typical for VAR. A finite-difference analog of the model’s initial equation is obtained by the finite-volume method. The system obtained is solved by a two-cyclic scheme of component-wise splitting. A simplified model neglecting the magnetohydrodynamic phenomena in the molten pool is tested by comparison of the results of numerical calculations of the pool depth in remelting of the Russian titanium alloy Vt3-1 (Ti-6.5Al-2.5Mo-1.5Cr-0.5Fe-0.3Si) with the results of radiographic experiments. It has been shown that the model fits the experimental data well under various remelting conditions (the ingot diameter and operating current intensity).     

Cascade cyclization of 3(5)-aminopyrazoles with aromatic aldehydes and cyclohexanediones

Three-component condensation of 5(3)-amino-3(5)-methylpyrazole with aromatic aldehydes and 1,3-cyclohexanedione afforded mixtures of 3-methyl-4-aryl-2,4,6,7,8,9-hexa hydro-5H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinolin-5-ones and 2-methyl-9-aryl-5,6,7,9-tetrahydro pyrazolo[5,1-b]quinazolin-8(4H)-ones. The reaction of 3-aminopyrazolo-4-carbonitrile and ethyl 3-aminopyrazolo-4-carboxylate with aldehydes and cyclo hexanedione or dimedome is regioselective and leads to the formation of partially hydrogenated pyrazolo [5,1-b]quinazolin-8-one systems. In all compounds the dihydroazine ring exists in the enamine tautomeric form.
