Tetranuclear Co‐grid complexes incorporating bis‐tridentate ligands, namely 4,6‐bis(2,2′‐bipyrid‐6‐yl)‐2‐phenylpyrimidine, were electrosprayed onto a Au(111) substrate under an ultrahigh vacuum. Fragmentation occurs leaving the ligands in four different conformations. Most ligands are found to form H‐bonded dimers. The most abundant conformer of the ligand on the Au surface is an asymmetric form, which has not been observed before. The present results indicate that the fragmentation of coordination compounds during the deposition process, in principle, allows for surface trapping, identification, and investigation of high energy, out‐of‐equilibrium conformations of the ligand molecules at low temperatures, which otherwise would not be observable.  相似文献

An integral equation formulation for buoyancy-driven convection problems is developed and illustrated. Buoyancy-driven convection in a bounded cylindrical geometry with a free surface is studied for a range of aspect ratios and Nusselt numbers. The critical Rayleigh number, the nature of the cellular motion, and the heat transfer enhancement are computed using linear theory. Green's functions are used to convert the linear problem into linear Fredholm integral equations. Theorems are proved which establish the properties of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the linear integral operator which appears in these equations.  相似文献

Three imine-based metal complexes, having no overlap in terms of their compositions, have been simultaneously generated from the self-sorting of a constitutional dynamic library (CDL) containing three amines, three aldehydes, and three metal salts. The hierarchical ordering of the stability of the three metal complexes assembled and the leveraging of the antagonistic and agonistic relationships existing between the constituents within the constitutional dynamic network corresponding to the CDL were pivotal in achieving the sorting. Examination of the process by NMR spectroscopy showed that the self-sorting of the FeII and ZnII complexes depended on an interplay between the thermodynamic driving forces and a kinetic trap involved in their assembly. These results also exemplify the concept of “simplexity”—the fact that the output of a self-assembling system may be simplified by increasing its initial compositional complexity—as the two complexes could self-sort only in the presence of the third pair of organic components, those of the CuI complex.  相似文献

White‐light‐emitting materials and devices have attracted enormous interest because of their great potential for various lighting applications. We herein describe the light‐emitting properties of a series of new difunctional organic molecules of remarkably simple structure consisting of two terminal 4‐pyridone push–pull subunits separated by a polymethylene chain. They were found to emit almost “pure” white light as a single organic compound in the solid state, as well as when incorporated in a polymer film. To the best of our knowledge, they are the simplest white‐light‐emitting organic molecules reported to date.  相似文献

Two derivatives, 3 L and 9 L , of a ditopic, multiply hydrogen‐bonding molecule, known for more than a decade, have been found, in the solid state as well as in solvents of low polarity at room temperature, to exist not as monomers, but to undergo a remarkable self‐assembly into a complex supramolecular species. The solid‐state molecular structure of 3 L , determined by single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography, revealed that it forms a highly organized hexameric entity 3 L 6 with a capsular shape, resulting from the interlocking of two sets of three monomolecular components, linked through hydrogen‐bonding interactions. The complicated 1H NMR spectra observed in o‐dichlorobenzene (o‐DCB) for 3 L and 9 L are consistent with the presence of a hexamer of D3 symmetry in both cases. DOSY measurements confirm the hexameric constitution in solution. In contrast, in a hydrogen‐bond‐disrupting solvent, such as DMSO, the 1H NMR spectra are very simple and consistent with the presence of isolated monomers only. Extensive temperature‐dependent 1H NMR studies in o‐DCB showed that the L 6 species dissociated progressively into the monomeric unit on increasing th temperature, up to complete dissociation at about 90 °C. The coexistence of the hexamer and the monomer indicated that exchange was slow on the NMR timescale. Remarkably, no species other than hexamer and monomer were detected in the equilibrating mixtures. The relative amounts of each entity showed a reversible sigmoidal variation with temperature, indicating that the assembly proceeded with positive cooperativity. A full thermodynamic analysis has been applied to the data.  相似文献

Many studies apply sensitivity analysis to explore the impact of reaction kinetic parameters on model predictions. The importance of thermochemical and transport data is often assumed to be relatively low. While this is true for specific combustion properties of hydrocarbons, the role of thermochemical and transport data in combustion processes of nitrogen-containing molecules remains to be investigated. Thus, this work applies adjoint sensitivity analysis to the complete set of parameters in combustion models, i.e., kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport data. This integral approach increases the number of parameters considered in the sensitivity analysis drastically. Compared to forward sensitivity analysis, the adjoint approach is very efficient for a large number of parameters, and analysis with several thousand parameters can be performed in seconds. Nitrogen oxide formation in methane/air flames and laminar burning velocities of ammonia/air flames are considered as prediction targets. Sensitivity analysis results for kinetic, thermochemical, and transport data are compared by jointly considering all appearing parameter uncertainties. The comparison reveals that, due to their importance for the equilibrium constants of elementary reactions, the optimization potential of thermodynamic properties is often similarly high as that of the kinetics parameters. Transport parameters are found to be of the lowest priority for the model development due to their low uncertainties, even though high sensitivities are determined for several of them. More specifically, the analysis for the laminar burning velocities of ammonia/air flames reveals a high optimization potential for parameters in the N2-amine chemistry, including the molar heat capacities of N2H2, N2H3, and NH. Interestingly, analyses with different mechanisms reveal strongly diverging results, especially regarding the importance of reactions with OH, which is uncommon when considering the combustion of hydrocarbons.  相似文献

We investigate the inverse source problem of electrostatics in a bounded and convex domain with compactly supported source. We try to extract all information about the unknown source support from the given Cauchy data of the associated potential, adopting by this previous work of Kusiak and Sylvester to the case of electrostatics. We introduce, and for the unit disk we also compute numerically, what we call the discoidal source support, i.e., the smallest set made up by the intersection of disks within the domain, which carries a source compatible with the given data.
