Nanoparticles of Zn1−xCrxS (x=0.00, 0.005, 0.01, 0.02 and 0.03) were prepared by a chemical co-precipitation reaction from homogenous solutions of zinc and chromium salts. These nanoparticles were sterically stabilized using 2-mercaptoethanol. Here a study of the effect of Cr doping on structural, morphological and optical properties of nanoparticles was undertaken. Elemental analysis, morphological, structural and optical properties have been investigated by energy dispersive analysis of X-rays (EDAX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-visible spectroscopy .EDAX measurements confirmed the presence of Cr in the ZnS lattice. XRD showed that ZnS:Cr nanoparticles crystallized in zincblende structure with preferential orientation along (1 1 1) plane. The average sizes of the nanoparticles lay in the range of 3-6 nm and lattice parameters were in the range of 5.2-5.4 Å. Lattice contraction was observed with an increase of Cr concentration. The particle size and lattice parameters obtained from TEM and SAED images were in agreement with the XRD results. The absorption edge shifted to lower wavelengths with an increase in Cr concentration as per UV-Vis spectroscopy. The band gap energy values were in the range of 3.85-4.05 eV. This blueshift is attributed to the quantum confinement effect.  相似文献

A comprehensive characterization of the heat release rate and burning behaviour of foam and foam/Basofil fabric combination has been carried out at different levels of heat flux varying from 10 to 70 kW/m2 using cone calorimetry. Peak heat release rate (PHRR) was found to increase for foam and foam/fabric combination with the increase in the level of heat flux. However, considerable reduction in PHRR was noted for foam/fabric combination vis-à-vis that of foam alone. Foam/fabric combination was found to exhibit two-step decomposition behaviour at heat flux levels of 40 kW/m2 and above due to the cracking of the char formed from the cover fabric. Flashover potential of the foam was considerably reduced by the fabric covering the foam. Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide yields were found to be lower for foam/fabric combination. Smoke toxicity, as indicated by the index of combustion completeness, was found to be lower for the foam/fabric combination.  相似文献

Monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) have been used for therapies and some analytical procedures as highly purified molecules. Many techniques have been applied and studied, focusing on monoclonal antibodies purification. In this study, an immobilized metal affinity chromatography membrane was developed and evaluated for the purification of anti-TNP IgG1 mouse MAbs from cell culture supernatant after precipitation with a 50% saturated ammonium sulfate solution. The chelating ligands iminodiacetic acid, carboxymethylated aspartic acid (CM-Asp), nitrilotriacetic acid, and tris (carboxymethyl) ethylenediamine in agarose gels with immobilized Ni(II) and Zn(II) ions were compared for the adsorption and desorption of MAbs. The most promising chelating ligand—CM-Asp—was then coupled to poly(ethylene vinyl alcohol) (PEVA) hollow fiber membranes. According to SDS-PAGE and ELISA analyses, a higher selectivity and a purification factor of 85.9 (fraction eluted at 500 mM Tris) were obtained for IgG1 using PEVA-CM-Asp-Zn(II). The anti-TNP MAb could be eluted under mild pH conditions causing no loss of antigen binding capacity.  相似文献

Undoped and Fe doped CdS nanocrystals with Fe content of 2–5 at% of average crystallite size 1.2–2 nm have been obtained using chemical co-precipitation method with 2-mercaptoethonal as capping agent at 80 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results showed that the undoped CdS nanocrystals were in mixed phase of cubic and hexagonal, where as the doped CdS nanocrystals were in hexagonal phase. Room-temperature ferromagnetism has been observed in Fe-doped CdS nanocrystals. Magnetic studies indicated diamagnetism in undoped, ferromagnetism in lightly doped (2 and 3 at%) and paramagnetism in samples of higher Fe content (4 and 5 at%). The substitutional incorporation of Fe3+ ion in Cd2+ sites was reflected in structural and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements. Isolated as well as interacting Fe3+ ions are observed in EPR.  相似文献

The effectiveness of 1H?pyrazole?3,5?dicarboxylic acid 5?benzyl ester 3?phenyl ester (PCBPE) as a preventer for deterioration of IS 513 Gr. D steel in 1 M HCl medium is evaluated via weight loss, electrochemical impedance, and polarization techniques. Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters assessed the feasibility of the adsorption process at diverse temperatures. The inhibition action on mild steel has been enhanced with increasing PCBPE concentration. It is found from the polarization studies that PCBPE behaves as mixed type inhibitor in HCl medium. The adsorption process of PCBPE on mild steel surface from acid environment is favoured Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The shielding efficiency of PCBPE has been enhanced at elevated concentrations, and it has been diminished at amplified temperatures. The Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Energy Dispersive Spectrum (EDS) were used to establish a surface characterization of metal specimens. A quantum chemical analysis of electron density distributions in the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) demonstrated how the inhibitor undergoes adsorption on mild steel in 1 M HCl. All experimental findings substantiate the corrosion mitigation performance of PCBPE on mild steel in acidic environments.  相似文献

Recombinant coagulation factor VIII (FVIII) expressed in mammalian expression systems is used extensively in the treatment of hemophilia A. It is reported that the heavy (A1–A2) and light chains (A3–C1–C2) of factor VIII purified from plasma regained the coagulation activity by dimerization in vitro. In this work, cDNA coding for the light chain of human coagulation factor VIII (FVIII-LC) was cloned into pPICZα-A expression vector downstream of alcohol oxidase promoter and α-mating signal sequence from Saccharomyces cerevisiae in order to express the protein with a native N-terminus. The methylotrophic yeast, Pichia pastoris X-33, was transformed with this cassette, and transformants were selected for production of human factor VIII light chain into culture media. SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis confirmed the expression of factor VIII light chain protein. The expressed protein was purified to near homogeneity using histidine ligand affinity chromatography (2.342 mg/L). The biological activity of FVIII-LC was confirmed by analyzing the interaction between FVIII-LC and phospholipid vesicles. The data presented here indicate the possibilities of exploring cost-effective systems to express complex proteins of therapeutic value.  相似文献
