The average local electrostatic potential function, V(r)/ ρ(r), is calculated for 87 atoms, Li-Ac, in the ground state using the nonrelativistic average-over-configuration numerical Hartree-Fock density. It is found empirically that in a given atom the shell boundaries are expressed as the successively increasing maxima in V(r)/ ρ(r) and the outermost maximum presents good approximate estimates of the core-valence separation in atoms. The likeness in behavior of V(r)/ ρ(r) at each shell boundary with the maximum hardness principle is discussed. The single-exponent-fit parameters for the electron density in the valency region are provided for all atoms. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

Aromatic acetals have been deprotected to the corresponding aldehydes under biomimetic conditions for the first time using beta-cyclodextrin in water under neutral conditions, thereby overcoming many of the drawbacks associated with earlier methodologies. The oxidative coupling of phenols with 4-aminoantipyrine (AmNH2) has been studied by UV–visible spectroscopy using platinum nanoparticles as catalyst. The rate of antipyrilquinoneimine
dye formation depends on the nature of substrates, temperature, pH, and the use of microheterogeneous media such as sodium
dodecylsulphate (SDS), cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and Triton X-100 (TX-100). The reactivity trend observed for
differently substituted phenols follows the order: 3,5-dimethylphenol > phenol > o-chlorophenol > o-nitrophenol. The rate of dye formation is greater at acid pH than at basic pH and the optimum pH is 5.4. A reaction pathway
is proposed, involving the activation of o-chlorophenol with AmNH2 by metal nanoparticles and concomitant reactions of free radicals. Transmission electron microscopy results show that the
particle size is 20 nm for the platinum nanoparticles involved in catalysis.

Inhibition of mild steel corrosion by Morinda tinctoria leaves extract in sulphuric acid medium 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The corrosion inhibition of mild steel in 0.5 M sulphuric acid by aqueous and acid extracts of leaves of Morinda tinctoria was studied using weight loss, colorimetric and electrochemical techniques. Results obtained indicate that both the extracts are effective in sulphuric acid medium and the efficiency decreases with increase in temperature. Added halide additives improve the efficiency of the inhibitor. From the thermodynamic, spectral, and surface analyses, the nature of adsorption has been found out. 相似文献

The activity concentration and absorbed gamma dose rates due to primordial radionuclides (238U, 232Th and 40K) have been determined for the soil of Coimbatore city using NaI(Tl) gamma-ray spectrometer. The average activity concentrations
of 232Th, 238U and 40K in the soil samples have been found to be 31.4 Bq·kg−1, 12.8 Bq·kg−1 and 698.0 Bq·kg−1, respectively, which give the total gamma dose rate contribution of 56.4 nGy·h−1. Grab sampling technique has been used to determine the indoor radon (222Rn) and thoron (220Rn) progeny levels in different dwellings in the city. The concentrations of radon and thoron progenies range from 0.4 to
10.4 and from 0.7 to 12.7 mWL with a mean value of 1.4 mWL and 3.1 mWL, respectively. The annual effective dose due to radon
and thoron progeny has been found to be 0.14 mSv·y−1. 相似文献
