Two-high power excimer laser systems with square (25 × 25 cm) and circular (with a diameter of 40 cm) cross sections of the output laser beam are described. The first (second) system consists of four (five) excimer lasers. The experimental results on the generation of the high-quality high-power laser pulses are presented. Laser beams with a pulse duration of 1–250 ns, a divergence of 0.01 mrad, a spectral line width of 0.01 cm−1, and a pulse energy of up to 330 J are obtained. Original Text ? The process of formation of surface structures in a paratellurite crystal (α-TeO2) in an external electric field has been studied by in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. This process is reversible and its dynamics (duration of tens of minutes) corresponds to the formation of a screening layer near the insulator–metal interface owing to the counter migration of oxygen ions and vacancies in the external electric field. The formation of domains has been observed in the experiment as the broadening and splitting of the XRD curve and is explained by mechanical stresses that appear in the high electric field near the surface in view of the piezoelectric effect and are responsible for a ferroelectric α–β phase transition. A change in the lattice parameter near the anode (surface of the crystal with a positive external charge) has been detected simultaneously. This change is due to the local rearrangement of the crystal structure because of the inflow of oxygen ions in this region and outflow of oxygen vacancies.  相似文献

The amplitude- and phase-frequency characteristics of oscillating bubble systems with a closed measuring cell are analyzed. The shape of the frequency characteristics is qualitatively different for bubbles smaller or larger than a hemisphere, respectively, and also for diluted and concentrated surfactant solutions. Moreover, the presence of a surfactant in the solution strongly influences the characteristic frequencies of the system. The experiments performed under ground and microgravity conditions show a good qualitative agreement with theoretically predicted amplitude- and phase-frequency characteristics and confirm the adequacy of the proposed theory. The comparison of high-frequency limits of the surface dilatational elasticity with the theoretical Gibbs elasticities calculated according to the respective adsorption isotherm shows good agreement for small surfactant concentrations. At higher concentrations large discrepancies are observed which can possibly be explained by the violation of the linearity condition for the surface layer.  相似文献

We report on a test of Lorentz invariance performed by comparing the resonance frequencies of one stationary optical resonator and one continuously rotating on a precision air bearing turntable. Special attention is paid to the control of rotation induced systematic effects. Within the photon sector of the standard model extension, we obtain improved limits on combinations of 8 parameters at a level of a few parts in 10(-16). For the previously least well known parameter we find [EQUATION: SEE TEXT]. Within the Robertson-Mansouri-Sexl test theory, our measurement restricts the isotropy violation parameter [EQUATION: SEE TEXT]. corresponding to an eightfold improvement with respect to previous nonrotating measurements.  相似文献

Autooscillation of the surface tension is a phenomenon related to Marangoni instability periodically arising and fading by dissolution of a surfactant droplet under a water-air interface. A detailed experimental investigation was performed to clear up the influence of the system geometry on development and characteristics of autooscillations. It was found that the aspect ratio is an additional dimensionless parameter that determines the system behavior equally to the Marangoni number. The influence of the cell diameter, capillary immersion depth, and droplet radius on the autooscillation period and amplitude was studied as well.  相似文献

Human biological liquids comprise various surfactants, which adsorb at liquid interfaces and lead to a variation in surface tension. The adsorption processes involving low molecular weight surfactants, proteins and phospholipids play a vital role in the physiological functions of the human organism, especially if large surfaces are involved (e.g., gas exchange in lungs, metabolism of kidneys, liver and brain). Dynamic surface tensiometric studies of biological liquids like serum and cerebrospinal fluid provide surrogate parameters that reflect surface tension phenomena. We provide dynamic surface tension data of serum and cerebrospinal fluid that were collected from healthy volunteers and patients with rheumatic, neurological or oncological diseases. Our studies indicate that dynamic surface tension data are helpful for diagnostic purposes and for monitoring of therapeutic interventions.  相似文献

This review paper presents the results obtained during the development and study of three high-power wide-aperture CO 2 lasers (λ=10.6 μm) pumped with a discharge controlled by an electron beam. In developing these lasers, the method of formation of a space discharge at elevated pressures due to uniform ionization of the working mixture by an electron beam with an energy of some hundreds of kiloelectron-volts was used, which was proposed by researchers at the Instute of High-Current Electronics (IHCE).
