Cayley hypersurfaces

We exhibit a family of homogeneous hypersurfaces in affine space, one in each dimension, that generalize the Cayley surface.     

Molecular Structure of Samarium Dibromide

The molecular structure of samarium dibromide has been studied by electron diffraction at T _exp = 1250(50) K. The molecule has C_2v symmetry; the internuclear distance R_g(Sm–Br) = 274.5(5) pm; _g =131(6)°. The vibration frequencies were estimated from the experimental values of the mean square vibration amplitudes.     

Molecular structures of inorganic compounds of low volatility : Part II. Metaborates of alkali metals

The molecular structures of caesium, rubidium and thallium metaborates have been studied in the gas phase by electron diffraction. Results indicate that alkali metal metaborate molecules have the bent configuration, with linear BO₂ groups. Parameters of the potential function for angle deformation are discussed.     

Ultrasoft x-ray emission spectra of the components in complete titanium nitrides

Results are given for a study of the TiL, TiL, and NK x-ray emission bands in TiC _1–x N _x compounds (x from 0.038 to 0.930). These spectra served as the basis for a discussion of the structure of the energy bands of TiC–TiN solid solutions and the evaluation of the validity of various theoretical models. The possibility of determining the composition of solid carbonitride alloys by analysis of the intensity of the x-ray emission bands was examined.Institute of Metal Physics, Urals Branch, Academy of Sciences of the USSR. The zero curvature equation for rigid CR-manifolds

In this paper, we present the general analytic solution to the zero curvature equation for rigid three-dimensional CR-manifolds. The solutions are uniquely determined by one function and four real parameters.
