Tautomeric Equilibrium in Polyfluoroalkylated 5,6,7,8-Tetrahydrofurans by IR Spectroscopy

The tautomeric equilibrium in substituted 5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinazolines was studied by IR spectroscopy. The effect of various substitutents in the pyrimidine ring and the solvent on the state of the tautomeric equilibrium was evaluated.     

Sorption characteristics of polyfluorocarboxamides

The dependence of the variations in the differential molar free energy of sorption of polyfluorocarboxamides R_FC(O)NR₂ (R_F = CF₃(CF₂) _i ,i=0 to 5, R=H or Me) on capillary columns on the molecular structure of the amides, the temperature of analysis, and the nature of the stationary phases (OV-101, XE-60, and PEG-40M) were investigated by GLC. The peculiarities of the variation of the sorption characteristics of amides in XE-60 and PEG-40M polar phases, which cause the inversion of the order of retention of the members of pseudohomologous series, were found.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Nontrivial manifestation of clustering in fission of heavy nuclei at low and middle excitations

An analysis of the preferable fission path manifesting itself as a fine structure of the total kinetic energy-mass distribution of the fission fragments compelled us to put forward an absolutely new shape of the fissioning system on the descent from the fission barrier. It is a multicomponent nuclear molecule constituted by two magic clusters and a torus-like neck between.     

Spontaneous Surgery on the Borromean Rings

We study the cone-manifolds whose singular sets are obtained by orbifold and spontaneous surgeries on components of the Borromean rings. We establish existence of geometric structures on these manifolds. For manifolds with hyperbolic structure we obtain an integral representation for volumes.     

Space Stereoscopic Observatory Project

The Interplanetary Solar Stereoscopic Observatory (ISSO) is designed for long-time series of observations of the Sun and Solar system bodies. The basic principle is a stereoscope with stable base, which is planned to be realized by inserting two identically equipped spacecrafts (SC) into the vicinity of the triangular Lagrange libration points of the “Sun-barycenter of the Earth and Moon” system. The scientific program of the project may include two sets of experiments: experiments related to the solar-terrestrial physics and those related to celestial mechanics, stellar astronomy, and astrophysics, respectively. The coordinate frame in the project is planned to be presented by the FK6 system (catalogues ICRS, Hipparcos, Tycho-2). It is planned to reach the milliarcsecond level of the accuracy of angular measurements. We present the main conception of the project and the solution of the problem of base stability. Gas-liquid chromatography of perfluorocarboxylic thioesters

Perfluorocarboxylic thioesters R_FC(O)SR (R_F=CF₃(CF₂)_j, R=CH₃(CH₂)_i, i andj=0–5) were studied for the first time by GLC on packed columns using SE-30, SKTFT-50X, and XE-60 as the stationary phase. The values of thermodynamics functions of sorption were calculated. The correlations between these functions and the molecular structures as well as the conditions of analysis were established. The insertion of the S atom into the molecules of derivatives of perfluorocarboxylic acids causes a decrease in the contribution of the orientation interaction and an increase in the dispersion interaction of thioesters with the stationary phases compared to esters and amides of perfluorocarboxylic acids studied previously. Reactions of regioisomeric fluoroalkyl-containing β-aminovinyl ketones with hydrazines

Fluoroalkyl -alkyl--aminovinyl ketones react with hydrazine hydrate to give the respective razoles and with phenylhydrazine they form a mixture of pyrazoles and 5 hydroxy-²-pyrazolines. Alkyl(aryl) -fluoroalkyl--aminovinylketones do not react with the hydrazines mentioned above. With 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine, both types of fluoroalkyl-containing -aminovinyl ketones give only hydrazones of the corresponding methyl alkyl(aryl) ketones.     

Gas-liquid chromatography of thioesters of perfluorocarboxylic acids 1. Characteristics of retention

Retention of thioesters of perfluoropentanoic acid C₄F₉C(O)SR was studied by GLC on packed and capillary columns using stationary phases SE-30, SKTFT-50X, XE-60, and Carbowax 20M. The retention indices of these compounds were calculated, and their relationship with the structure of the compounds and the conditions of the analysis were established.
