La3B6O13(OH) was obtained by a high-pressure/high-temperature experiment at 6 GPa and 1673 K. The compound crystallizes in the space group P21 (no. 4) with the lattice parameters a=4.785(2), b=12.880(4), c=7.433(3) Å, and β=90.36(10)°, and is built up of corner- as well as edge-sharing BO4 tetrahedra. It represents the first acentric high-pressure borate containing these B2O6 entities. The compound develops borate layers of „sechser“-rings with the La3+ cations positioned between the layers. Single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, vibrational and MAS NMR spectroscopy, second-harmonic generation (SHG) and thermoanalytical measurements, as well as computational methods were used to affirm the proposed structure and the B2O6 entities.  相似文献

The formation conditions and dynamics of Ca colloids and point defects that appear in irradiated single crystals of CaF2 were investigated by Raman spectroscopy. The intensity changes in the Raman spectra because of the presence of different concentrations of point defects and Ca colloids that emerged in CaF2 after irradiation with 2.2 GeV Au ions were used to study their distribution and stability under illumination with three laser wavelengths (473, 532 and 633 nm) at different output powers (2 to 200 mW). A damage saturation at a fluence of 6 × 1011 ion cm−2 was observed. The dependence of the spectral changes on the ion fluence can be described by a core/halo damage cross‐section model. A radius of 13–18 nm was obtained for the outer (halo) cylinder, in agreement with previous swelling studies. Illuminations of irradiated samples with blue (473 nm) and green (532 nm) lasers were found to be extremely efficient in bleaching the samples, while illumination with a red (633 nm) laser did not lead to a sample recovery. This indicates that the bleaching process is governed by recombination of point defects that have to overcome an energy barrier. Typical time constants for the processes involved are presented. This article presents the results of in situ X-ray powder diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and electrical impedance spectroscopy of the α-phase of Bi2O3, at 0.1 MPa in the temperature range below and above the α–δ-phase transition. This work demonstrated subtle nonlinear temperature variations of the cell parameters, of the hard-mode Raman shift, and of the activation energy of electrical conductivity in the temperature range about 100–120°C below the α–δ phase transition temperature T Tr ≈ 725°C in Bi2O3. At T < 600°C, the linear variation of the inverse dielectric susceptibility (χ ?1) correlates well with the hard mode frequency shift Δ(ω 2) of Raman A1g mode as Δ(χ ?1)/Δ(ω 2) ≈ 5.5 × 10?7 cm2. A structural model describing the mechanism of O2? anion distribution and electric dipole disordering in the vicinity of T Tr is discussed.  相似文献

Large single crystals of the polar (point group mm 2) compound tris(glycine) zinc chloride, (NH3CH2COO)3 · ZnCl2, were grown from aqueous solutions. The refractive indices were measured in the wavelength region from 365 nm to 1083 nm and an unpolarised absorption spectrum was recorded (transparency range from 260 to 1550nm). The phase matching conditions for second harmonic generation were analysed: both, type I (ss‐f) and type II (sf‐f) are possible in the red and near IR region. All five components of the piezoelectric tensor [dijk ] were determined; the maximum values of longitudinal and transverse piezoelectric effects are less than one half of d111 of α‐quartz. The tensor of nonlinear optical susceptibility for second harmonic generation [dSHG ijk ] of hexagonal (point group 6) strontium tartrato‐antimonate(III) dihydrate, Sr[Sb2{(+)‐C4H2O6}2]·2H2O, was determined using the Maker fringes method and a Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm. The largest component of the tensor dSHG 333 amounts two times dSHG 111 of α‐quartz. Effective nonlinear optical susceptibility dSHG eff is given for phase matching type I for several wavelengths (for type II dSHG eff is nearly zero). The thermal stability of crystals of Sr[Sb2{(+)‐C4H2O6}2]·2H2O was determined in the temperature range from 153 K to 573 K by means of thermal expansion measurements and thermogravimetry. Structure-property relations of monoclinic petalite, LiAlSi(4)O(10), were determined by experiment and atomistic modeling based on density functional theory. The elastic stiffness coefficients were measured between room temperature and 570?K using a combination of the plate-resonance technique and resonant ultrasound spectroscopy. The thermal expansion was studied between 100 and 740?K by means of dilatometry. The heat capacity between 2 and 398?K has been obtained by microcalorimetry using a quasi-adiabatic calorimeter. The experimentally determined elastic stiffness coefficients were employed to benchmark the results of density functional theory based model calculations. The values in the two data sets agreed to within a few GPa and the anisotropy was very well reproduced. The atomistic model was then employed to predict electric field gradients, the lattice dynamics and thermodynamic properties. The theoretical charge density was analyzed to investigate the bonding between atoms.  相似文献

The lifetime of the ruby R1 fluorescence line was measured as a function of pressure (up to about 20 GPa) and temperature (550 K) in an externally heated diamond anvil cell (DAC). At constant temperatures, the lifetime is increasing linearly with increasing pressure. The slope of the pressure dependence is constant up to a temperature of 450 K and it is decreasing at higher temperatures. At constant pressure, the lifetime is exponentially decreasing with increasing temperature. The (p, T)-dependence can be parametrized by the combination of a linear and an exponential function. This allows an accurate p, T-determination by the combination of fluorescence spectroscopy using Sm2+-doped strontium tetraborate and lifetime measurements of ruby, as the energy of the Sm2+ fluorescence is nearly temperature-independent.  相似文献

In this paper, all eight tensor components of the nonlinear optical susceptibility tensor for second harmonic generation were determined for monoclinic non‐centrosymmetric lithium sulfate monohydrate, Li2SO4·H2O, using the Maker fringe technique at the wavelength λ=1064 nm. The largest component of the nonlinear optical susceptibility tensor was 0.34 pm/V.
