The structure of K3(Me4N)3[Co(CN)6]2·3H2O has been determined from three-dimensional X-ray diffraction data. The unit cell is formed by parallel layers of cobalt
octahedra [CoC6] and potassium octahedra, [K(1)N5O(1)], separated byc/2. In each layer both types of octahedra are located alternatively. The [MeN4]+ tetrahedra are located in the cavities between the two layers of octahedra. The crystal structure of this compound is the

The liquid‐phase esterification of acetic acid and isoamyl alcohol has been studied to develop a kinetic model using a sequential experimental design based on the divergence criterion. Data come from batch reactor experiments, performed in the temperature range of 316–363 K. Discrimination among 36 possible kinetic models, written in terms of activity, mole fractions, and molar densities, is possible through the deviance information criterion, as estimated by a Markov chain Monte Carlo technique. A theoretical study, within the effective-mass approximation, of the
effects of applied magnetic fields on excitons in disk-shaped
GaAs-Ga1-xAlxAs quantum dots is presented. Magnetic fields
are applied in the growth direction of the semiconductor
heterostructure. The parity of the excitonic envelope function
related to the simultaneous exchange of ze→-ze and
zh→-zh is a good quantum number and the wave
function, both the odd and even parity, can be expanded as
combination of products of the quantum well electron and hole
function that preserves the parity with appropriate Gaussian
functions. We have simultaneously obtained the energies of the
excitonic ground and excited states and discuss the behavior of
