Determination of Hg(II) in Environmental Water Samples by Dispersive Liquid Phase Microextraction Combined with Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

In this study, a method of dispersive liquid phase microextraction combined with the flame atomic absorption spectrometry was proposed for the determination of trace Hg using diphenylthiocarbazone as chelating reagent. Several factors which have effect on the microextraction efficiency of Hg, such as pH, extraction and dispersive solvent type and their volume, concentration of the chelating agent, extraction time were investigated, and the optimized experimental conditions were established. After extraction, the enrichment factor was 68. The detection limit of the method was 45 ng mL^?1, and the relative standard deviation for eight determinations of 2 μg mL^?1 Hg was 1.7%. The results for the determination of Hg in environmental water samples (tap water, well water, mineral water and Caspian sea water) have demonstrated the applicability of the proposed method.     

Derivatized amino acids relevant to native peptide synthesis by chemical ligation and acyl transfer

Three amino acids were converted into the derivatives 5.2 (from glycine), 6.4a and 6.4b (from alanine), and 8.3a and 8.3b (from O-benzyl serine). These N-alkylated amino acids, which can be deprotected after conversion of the carboxyl into an amide, correspond to the general structure 2.1, a compound class of use in the study of peptide segment coupling by the ligation-acyl transfer method.     

Some Inequalities for the Polar Derivative of Polynomials in Complex Domain

Let p(z) be a polynomial of degree n. In this paper we prove results concerning maximum modulus of the polar derivative of p(z) with restricted zeros. Our results refine and generalize certain well-known polynomial inequalities.     

Effect of Partially Hydrolyzed Kappa-Casein on Physicochemical and Sensory Properties of Heated Milk

The chemical, physical, and sensory characteristics of renneted skim milk (RSM) containing partially hydrolyzed κ-casein were assessed and compared with skim milk (control). Rennet was added to heated milk (60°C for 15 minutes) at seven concentrations from 0.1 to 0.7 mL rennet/100 mL milk followed by heating to 63°C for 30 minutes in order to inactivate the rennet. The RSM samples had higher viscosity as well as whiter, yellower, and greener color in comparison with control sample. The range of size distribution of casein aggregates was larger than that of skim milk, while being within the range of fat mimetics.     

A heterodinuclear asymmetric catalyst for conjugate additions of alpha-hydroxyketones to beta-substituted nitroalkenes

[Structure: see text] The bis-ProPhenol ligand was designed to facilitate formation of hetereodinuclear complexes based upon the large difference in pKa of the one phenolic OH group to the tertiary OH groups. In exploring the first example of hydroxyacetophenones as donors in asymmetric Michael reactions with nitroalkene acceptors, the best stereocontrol was observed with a zinc/magnesium dinuclear complex where enantiomeric excesses ranged up to 92% for the major anti diastereomer.     

A New Approach for Solving a Class of Delay Fractional Partial Differential Equations

In this article, a new numerical approach has been proposed for solving a class of delay time-fractional partial differential equations. The approximate solutions of these equations are considered as linear combinations of Müntz–Legendre polynomials with unknown coefficients. Operational matrix of fractional differentiation is provided to accelerate computations of the proposed method. Using Padé approximation and two-sided Laplace transformations, the mentioned delay fractional partial differential equations will be transformed to a sequence of fractional partial differential equations without delay. The localization process is based on the space-time collocation in some appropriate points to reduce the fractional partial differential equations into the associated system of algebraic equations which can be solved by some robust iterative solvers. Some numerical examples are also given to confirm the accuracy of the presented numerical scheme. Our results approved decisive preference of the Müntz–Legendre polynomials with respect to the Legendre polynomials.     

Synthesis and Biological Activity of Pyrazolo(3,4-D)-8-Amino-1-Azaquinoxaline Dimethine Cyanine Dyes
