In this work, the preparation of micron-sized polymer particles with nonspherical shapes via seeded dispersion polymerization of 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate (EHMA) with polystyrene (PS) seed particles in the presence of decane droplets and evaporation of decane after the polymerization under various polymerization conditions was discussed. The effect of monomer and decane content and polarity of the medium on the shape of the obtained particles was investigated. The experimental results showed that decreasing the amount of monomer and hydrocarbon volume of PEHMA/hydrocarbon domains, the particles decreased but they grew symmetrically, resulting in symmetric shapes. Furthermore, it was suggested that because of changing the solubility of the oligoradicals and hydrocarbon in the medium, the shape of the particles changed with changing the polarity of the medium. With decreasing the polarity of the medium, solubility of the oligoradicals in the medium increases and bigger polymer domains form on the surface of PS particles which can absorb higher amounts of decane. All of these can contribute to an increase in volume reduction after extraction of PEHMA/decane, resulting in various particle shapes. Further decreasing in polarity of the medium leads to an increase in the solubility of decane in the medium and decreasing the absorbed amount of decane by PS particles and PEHMA domains, resulting in lower volume reduction after evaporation of decane.  相似文献

The nonanuclear coordination compound [MoIV{(CN)FeIII(3-methyl-saldptn)}8]Cl4 exhibits multiple spin transitions (3-methyl-saldptn = N,N′-bis(3′′-methyl-2′′-hydroxy-benzyliden)-1,7-diamino-4-azaheptane). This spin crossover cluster is bound via a self-assembled monolayer onto a two dimensional array gold surface. M?ssbauer spectroscopy indicates that the thermally and optically induced spin crossover of the compound is maintained. Thereby, the foundation for its potential practical application (e.g. in the field of information storage) was laid.  相似文献

Copper nanoclusters (Cu NCs) are found to possess intrinsic peroxidase-like activity for the first time. Similar to nature peroxidase, they can catalyze the oxidation of 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine by H2O2 to produce a nice blue color reaction. Compared with horseradish peroxidase, Cu NCs exhibits higher activity near neutral pH, which is beneficial for biological applications. The increase in absorbance caused by the Cu NCs catalytic reaction allows the detection of H2O2 in the range of 10 μM to 1 mM with a detection limit of 10 μM. A colorimetric method for glucose detection was also developed by combining the Cu NCs catalytic reaction and the enzymatic oxidation of glucose with glucose oxidase. Taking into account the advantages of ultra-small size, good stability, and high biocompatibility in aqueous solutions, Cu NCs are expected to have potential applications in biotechnology and clinical diagnosis as enzymatic mimics.  相似文献

The effect of simultaneous Sr substitution at the Ba and Y sites has been studied in the Sr0.75Y0.75Ba1.5Cu3O7–dsystem. Attempts to replace 25% Y and 25% Ba have been successful and superconductivity was observed above 78 K for Sr0.75Y0.75Ba1.5Cu3O7–d compound with high oxygen content, i.e., O6.76, and having orthorhombic crystal symmetry. The compound was treated in argon gas at 800°C to reduce the oxygen content and to induce some structural changes. The Sr0.75Y0.75Ba1.5Cu3O6.1 compound thus obtained has tetragonal symmetry and low oxygen content, O6.1. It has also shown superconductivity at 28 K. The paper presents a careful comparison of the structural and electrical properties and infrared absorbance spectra of the two compounds with the same metallic composition, Sr0.75Y0.75Ba1.5Cu3, but with different oxygen content and crystal symmetry. The study clearly establishes the occurrence of superconductivity in tetragonal Sr-substituted (both at Y and Ba sites in) YBCO.  相似文献

Conventional lattice Boltzmann models for the simulation of fluid dynamics are restricted by an error in the stress tensor that is negligible only for small flow velocity and at a singular value of the temperature. To that end, we propose a unified formulation that restores Galilean invariance and the isotropy of the stress tensor by introducing an extended equilibrium. This modification extends lattice Boltzmann models to simulations with higher values of the flow velocity and can be used at temperatures that are higher than the lattice reference temperature, which enhances computational efficiency by decreasing the number of required time steps. Furthermore, the extended model also remains valid for stretched lattices, which are useful when flow gradients are predominant in one direction. The model is validated by simulations of two- and three-dimensional benchmark problems, including the double shear layer flow, the decay of homogeneous isotropic turbulence, the laminar boundary layer over a flat plate and the turbulent channel flow.  相似文献

Two novel dithiophosphonate ligands, HS2P(p‐C6H4OMe)(OCH2CH2CH(CH3)2) ( 1 ) and HS2P(p‐C6H4OMe)(OCH(CH3)2) ( 2 ), were synthesized and characterized by multinuclear (1H, 31P, and 13C) NMR, infrared spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis. The reactions of 1 and 2 with NiCl2·6H2O and Cd(NO3)2·4H2O in methanol led to novel complexes 3 and 4 . The single crystal X‐ray structures of 3 and 4 showed tetracoordinated structure with square planar geometry for the nickel complex, while it showed pentacoordinated structure with distorted square‐pyramid environment for the cadmium complex.  相似文献

Cross-linked polystyrene (PS) particles having red blood corpuscle (RBC)-like shape were synthesized by one-pot dispersion polymerization of styrene with ethanol/water mixture and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the reaction medium and cross-linker, respectively. Monitoring of the reaction showed that RBC-like shape forms due to asymmetric shrinkage of a cross-linked network during the phase separation. In addition, three dimensional phase diagram was generated based on the yielded data that showed that the formation of such unique shape extremely depends on the polarity of the medium and injection time of the cross-linker. In situ synthesis of RBC-like particles, as promising biomaterials in targeted drug delivery and a model for the understanding of the cell behavior, via such fast and high solid content approach makes it to be conducive to subsequent scale up, i.e. potential commercial adoption.  相似文献

Cleavage of 3-amino-o-carborane by alcoholic alkali results in preferential elimination of the boron atom from position six of the polyhedron with the formation of a salt of 3-amino-7,8-dicarbaundecaborate and, to a smaller degree, to elimination of the boron bonded to the NH2 group, which leads to formation of a salt of 7,8-dicarbaundecaborate. Cleavage of 3-amino-o-carborane by piperidine is even more regioselective.
