The particle morphology and surface structure of nickel metal in metal–filamentous carbon catalysts were found to depend on the nature of coke-forming species used in the synthesis of catalysts. Metal carbonization with hydrocarbons that are characterized by high thermodynamic stability results in the formation of well-cut metal particles the surface of which is formed by (110) facets. Selective hydrogenation reactions of diene and acetylene hydrocarbons to olefins are typical of these catalysts. In the catalytic decomposition of hydrocarbons with relatively low thermodynamic stability, metal particles become irregular in shape, and their surface is formed by (111) facets. In this case, the reactions of full hydrogenation of olefin, diene, and acetylene hydrocarbons to corresponding alkanes take place. These data are consistent with the found dependence of the catalytic properties of catalysts on the character of the exterior faceting of active metal particles.  相似文献

The MoZSM-5 (4.0 wt % Mo) catalyst has been characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, EDXA, and EPR. Two types of molybdenum-containing particles are stabilized in the catalyst in the course of nonoxidative methane conversion at 750°C. These are 2-to 10-nm molybdenum carbide particles on the zeolite surface and clusters smaller than 1 nm in zeolite channels. According to EPR data, these clusters contain the oxidized molybdenum form Mo5+. The surface Mo2C particles are deactivated at the early stages of the reaction because of graphite condensation on their surface. Methane is mainly activated on oxidized molybdenum clusters located in the open molecular pores of the zeolite. The catalyst is deactivated after the 420-min-long operation because of coke buildup on the zeolite surface and in the zeolite pores.  相似文献

Nitrogen-containing catalytic filamentous carbon (N-CFC) of chemical composition NC18-NC104 has been synthesized by the decomposition of pyridine (Py) from gaseous mixtures with argon or H2 at 550–800°C on Ni/Al2O3 (Ni) and Ni-Cu/Al2O3 (Ni-Cu) high-percentage catalysts. The activity of the Ni-Cu catalyst in Py decomposition in mixtures with H2 is about one order of magnitude higher than its activity in Py/Ar mixtures (more than 70 g N-CFC per metal gram in 4.5 h at 750°C), which is interpreted as arising from the nickel-catalyzed hydrogenation of Py. The formation and growth of carbon fibers occurs through the decomposition of Py (from Ar/Py mixtures) and/or Py hydrodenitrification products (from H2/Py mixtures). The carbon material has been characterized by elemental analysis, low-temperature nitrogen adsorption, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The effect of the noncatalytic reactions of Py and its transformation products on the composition and texture of N-CFC is discussed.  相似文献

The addition of gallium is shown to increase Pt dispersity and its stability to deactivation in n-hexane dehydrocyclization, to decrease the rate of n-hexane hydrogenolysis and to increase the selectivity to benzene, apparently, due to the interaction of Pt clusters with surface Ga ions.

The effect of visible light on propane and n-butane oxidation has been sutied on a seires of metal oxides. TiO2 and ZnO have been found to exert a photocatalytic effect. On TiO2, propane and n-butane are oxidized to CO2 and H2O. On ZnO as catalyst, partial oxidation products, aldehydes and ketones, are formed.

Differences in the structure of WS2 samples with SBET=7.6 and 75 m2/g are manifested in decreasing lengths of basal faces of some small crystallites in the more dispersed WS2. This effect increases the relative fraction of lateral faces on the catalyst surface. Ni ions in the Ni/WS2 catalysts are in an electrondeficient state compared to NiS.

Phase composition of the products of Al(III) hydroxide ageing at 473 K is shown to be independent of pH. Under these conditions boehmite is always formed whose morphological structure is determined by both the phase composition of freshly precipitated Al(III) hydroxides and the pH of their ageing. A possibility for the formation of needlelike boehmite crystals whose width coincides with the value of b=12.3Å of its unit cell, has been shown.
