(1) It is shown that, contrary to statements sometimes made, it is perfectly possible to obtain consistent sets of charges in Kuhn's ω″ molecular-orbital method, whatever the values of the parameters ω, ω′, ω″.
(2) Particular applications are made to the benzyl cation, and to the non-alternants fulvene, heptafulvene and azulene. It appears that including the ω-terms decreases the magnitude of the largest of the net atomic charges as calculated by the simple Hückel method, and results in an overall smoothing-out process. Further inclusion of the ω′-terms continues this smoothing-out process, but inclusion of the ω″-terms may sometimes slightly reverse this process.
(3) The charge distributions obtained for fulvene and azulene in (1) and (2) lead to molecular dipole moments which are still much too large.
In view of (3) it is not clear that the additional work involved in the inclusion of ω′ and ω″ is justified by the greater accuracy thus obtained. 相似文献
Acyloxyl radicals RC(O)O* (with R = alkyl, aryl) could be trapped through addition to cyclic and open-chain alkynes, where they were found to act as a donor of oxygen atoms. Mechanistically, this radical oxygenation proceeded through a transannular or intramolecular, respectively, radical cyclization cascade, which was finally terminated by release of an acyl radical RC*(O). The reaction led to stereoselective formation of cyclized products, which contained a carbonyl group at the former site of the alkyne triple bond. 相似文献
[reaction: see text] Photochemically generated nitrate radicals (NO(3)(*)) cleave the stereoisomeric N,N-dimethyl-substituted uracil cyclobutane dimers 1a-d into the monomeric uracil derivative 2 as the major reaction pathway. A preferred splitting of the syn dimers 1a,b was observed. The reaction is expected to proceed through initial one-electron oxidation with formation of an intermediate cyclobutane radical cation 11. In addition to cycloreversion, competing reaction steps of 11, which lead to the observed byproducts, are suggested. 相似文献
A profluorescent nitroxide possessing an isoindoline nitroxide moiety linked to a perylene fluorophore was developed to monitor radical mediated degradation of melamine-formaldehyde crosslinked polyester coil coatings in an industry standard accelerated weathering tester. Trapping of polyester-derived radicals (most likely C-radicals) that are generated during polymer degradation leads to fluorescent closed-shell alkoxy amines, which was used to obtain time-dependent degradation profiles to assess the relative stability of different polyesters towards weathering. The nitroxide probe couples excellent thermal stability and satisfactory photostability with high sensitivity and enables detection of free radical damage in polyesters under conditions that mimic exposure to the environment on a time scale of hours rather than months or years required by other testing methods. There are indications that the profluorescent nitroxide undergoes partial photo-degradation in the absence of polymer-derived radicals. Unexpectedly, it was also found that UV-induced fragmentation of the NO–C bond in closed-shell alkoxy amines leads to regeneration of the profluorescent nitroxide and the respective C-radical. The maximum fluorescence intensity that could be achieved with a given probe concentration is therefore not only determined by the amount of polyester radicals formed during accelerated weathering, but also by the light-driven side reactions of the profluorescent nitroxide and the corresponding alkoxy amine radical trapping products. Studies to determine the optimum probe concentration in the polymer matrix revealed that aggregation and re-absorption effects lowered the fluorescence intensity at higher concentrations of the profluorescent nitroxide, but too low probe concentrations, where these effects would be avoided, were not sufficient to trap the amount of polyester radicals formed upon weathering. The spectrum of the undulator radiation of beamline P01 at Petra III has been measured after passing a multiple reflection channel‐cut polarimeter. Odd and even harmonics up to the 15th order, as well as Compton peaks which were produced by the high harmonics in the spectrum, could been measured. These additional contributions can have a tremendous influence on the performance of the polarimeter and have to be taken into account for further polarimeter designs. 相似文献
A straightforward synthesis of cyclopropenylidene‐stabilized phosphenium cations 1 a – g through the reaction of [(iPr2N)2C3+Cl]BF4 with secondary phosphines is described. Their donor ability was evaluated by analysis of the CO stretching frequency in Rh complexes [RhCl(CO)L2](BF4)2 and electrochemical methods. The cyclopropenium ring induces a phosphite‐type behavior that can be tuned by the other two substituents attached to the phosphorus atom. Despite of the positive charge that they bear, phosphenium cations 1 a – g still act as two‐electron donor ligands, forming adducts with PdII and PtII precursors. Conversely, in the presence of Pd0 species, an oxidative insertion of the Pd atom into the Ccarbene–phosphorus bond takes place, providing dimeric structures in which each Pd atom is bonded to a cyclopropenyl carbene while two dialkyl/diaryl phosphide ligands serve as bridges between the two Pd centers. The catalytic performance of the resulting library of PtII complexes was tested; all of the cationic phosphines accelerated the prototype 6‐endo‐dig cyclization of 2‐ethynyl‐1,1′‐biphenyl to afford pentahelicene.
