We have investigated the reactions ppπ+π?a?and ppa?pp+?at 100 GeV/c. The ppπ+π? final state is dominated by diffractive production of a pπ+π? (orpπ+π?) system which shows a strong tendency to form Δ++π? (orΔ++π+). The process ppa?Δ++Δ++ is also observed in this reaction, indicating an energy dependence of s?1.5±0.1. The pp+? channel shows less single diffraction, and has a doubly diffractive component consistent with pomeron factorization. Strong Δ++(Δ++) production is agoain seen, but in contrast to the ppπ+π? channel we also observe considerable ?0 production.  相似文献

An experimental search is presented for the existence of intra-nuclear cascading which, for small values of the Bjorken scaling variable ω, is the only mechanism of particle multiplication in the target nucleus. Our data indicate that cascading does exist as one of the effective mechanisms of particle multiplication in μ-nucleus collisions. No significant variation of the observed multiplicity with ω is observed.  相似文献

Computer simulations based on Discrete Element Method have been performed in order to investigate the influence of interparticle interactions on the kinetics of self-assembly and the mechanical strength of nanoparticle aggregates.Three different systems have been considered.In the first system the interaction between particles has been simulated using the JKR (Johnson,Kendall and Roberts) contact theory,while in the second and third systems the interaction between particles has been simulated using van der Waals and electrostatic forces respectively.In order to compare the mechanical behaviour of the three systems,the magnitude of the maximum attractive force between particles has been kept the same in all cases.However,the relationship between force and separation distance differs from case to case and thus,the range of the interparticle force.The results clearly indicate that as the range of the interparticle force increases,the self-assembly process is faster and the work required to produce the mechanical failure of the assemblies increases by more than one order of magnitude.  相似文献

Using data obtained from an exposure of the 30-inch bubble chamber at NAL, inclusive and semi-inclusive two-particle rapidity correlations are analyzed for charged-charged, ??, ++, and ± particles. For the inclusive sample, positive correlations are observed in the central region. In the semi-inclusive case, the four-and six-prong events exhibit strong positive correlations near 90° CM. Selection of four-prong events with a large rapidity gap shows that the strong correlation seems to be associated with diffractive-type events.  相似文献

An event representing the production and decay of the charmed F+ meson has been identified by means of a 3-constraint fit to decay hypothesis F+π+π+π?π0, in which both γ-rays from the π0 converted. The event was produced by a charged current νμ interaction in an emulsion stack located inside the Fermilab 15-foot bubble chamber. The F+ traveled 50 μm, corresponding to a proper time of 1.4 × 10?13 seconds, before decaying in flight. Its mass was determined to be 2017 ± 25MeV.  相似文献

Results are presented on the topological cross sections obtained for antiproton-proton interactions from an exposure of the Fermilab 30-inch bubble chamber to a 100 GeV/c negative beam enriched in p's. The pp inelastic cross section is found to be σinel = 34.6 ± 0.4 mb, and the average inelastic charged particle multiplicity to be 〈n〉 = 6.74 ± 0.05.  相似文献
