Equilibrium of a capillary meniscus near a wetting film on a solid in a gravitational field is considered. Unlike previous studies, the present study proves that the fine meniscus structure in a gravitational field is a universal feature—it takes place in a wide variety of problems. In the general case, the capillary meniscus is at a certain distance from the wetting film and does not intersect it. The relation for the minimum distance from the arbitrary meniscus to the solid generalizes the Derjaguin formula for a flat slit. An equation that optimally approximates the meniscus with due account of the contribution of the meniscus/film transition region is derived. A refined solution to the problem of a meniscus on a vertical plate is derived within the perturbation theory. Both gravity and nonuniformity of the vertical static film above a capillary–gravitational meniscus do not affect the minimum distance (the influence is less than 0.0001). A general method for solving sophisticated problems of capillary equilibrium in gravitational field is proposed.  相似文献

The low specificity of the electron-impact positive-ion mass spectrum in relation to the structure of an aromatic aglycone has been shown. The glycosidic moiety is determined unambiguously from the pattern of the mass spectrum. The dissociative electron-capture mass spectra are sensitive to the nature of the substituents of the aromatic nucleus of the aglycone. [reaction: see text] An approach to the synthesis of new imidazoline nitroxides bearing an N',N'-disubstituted amidine group is reported. The approach is based on the alkylation of diamagnetic 4-R-amino-1,2,2,5,5-pentamethyl-3-imidazolines with bromoacetic acid ethyl ester; the products of alkylation are further oxidized to the corresponding nitroxides. The approach allows a variety of functional groups to be introduced into the nitroxide molecule structure. Alkylation with bromoacetic acid ethyl ester was found to proceed with high regioselectivity and afford the products of exo-alkylation. The regiochemical assignment is made on the basis of 13C NMR spectra and confirmed by X-ray diffraction study. All of the nitroxides synthesized here were shown to have pH-dependent EPR spectra with pKa ranging from 3.5 to 6.2. For nitroxides 13 bearing the carboxylic group remote to the nitroxide moiety, the changes in isotropic magnetic parameters of EPR spectra due to reversible deprotonation of the carboxylic group were found to be small. For these nitroxides, we demonstrate an alternative approach for pKa determination that is based on measuring the peak-to-peak line width of the EPR spectrum in the presence of the paramagnetic broadening agent potassium ferricyanide. The partition coefficients of nitroxides in octanol/H2O and octanol/phosphate buffer solution mixtures were measured to reveal a range of their lipophilicities.  相似文献

Movement of a liquid meniscus in a low-diameter capillary while it is being filled or emptied is considered. The liquid is nonvolatile. Assuming low Reynolds number and low capillary number, the liquid-gas interface shape is studied. Angles of inclination of this boundary to the solid near the contact line are small. Consideration is given to the inverse problem in wetting dynamics: to establish an analytic expression for the universal constant that influences the dynamics of a three-phase contact line. Inverse relations for microscopic parameters in terms of macroscopic measured values obtained in experiments with a meniscus moving through a capillary are derived. The inverse relations are substantiated independently. To do so, numerical experiments for a van der Waals liquid have been carried out, using the de Gennes model of partial wetting. General formulas for microparameters agree well with numerical experiments. The article provides the similarity criterion which influences the wetting in the case of a van der Waals liquid meniscus. The inverse dynamic problem for both an advancing and a receding meniscus is solved. A relation for the critical speed of meniscus recession is proposed. Two contact angles for a meniscus are discussed. Behavior of dynamic contact angles in the vicinity of the critical speed is studied. One of the angles is shown to vanish at less than the critical speed, and the other one, exactly at the critical speed. In the case of an advancing meniscus the equations for microparameters are valid for both partial and complete wetting. The proposed inverse expression for complete wetting allows determination of the maximum precursor film thickness and its dependence on the motion speed (also determination of the Hamaker constant in the case of a van der Waals liquid). The technique for recording Raman spectra in uranium compounds using a probe minispectrometer with a multielement radiation detector has been developed. A selective filter, which reflects exciting laser radiation and transmits Raman signals, has been used to suppress the exciting radiation. It is shown that the technique developed makes it possible to record Raman spectra from a small amount (~10–5 g) of sodium uranyl-acetate polycrystals in a wide spectral range for several seconds.  相似文献

The experiments on recording the radiation decay signal of the GIR2 reactor core in the range from 0 to 40 µs when exposed to an external intense neutron pulse with a duration of ∼1 µs are performed. The reactivity interval from subcritical (−7.5 β) to critical (+0.28 β) states of the reactor is studied. It is found that the signal of the detector with a plastic scintillator depends on the reactivity and is proportional to the change in the density of thermalized neutrons in the reactor converter. The results show that the reactivity of the GIR2 reactor can be determined on the basis of measurement of the signal decay of a scintillation detector and the well-known expression $${\alpha _\infty } = {\beta \over \Lambda }(\rho - 1)$$ to calculate the reactivity values only for states with a reactivity greater than ∼−3 β.  相似文献

Two-step-cascade spectra of the 171Yb(n, γγ)172Yb reaction have been measured using thermal neutrons. They are compared to calculations based on experimental values of the level density and radiative strength function obtained from the 173Yb(3He, )172Yb reaction. The multipolarity of a 6.5(15) μ N 2 resonance at 3.3(1) MeV in the strength function is determined to be M1 by this comparison.  相似文献

The spectra of stimulated Raman scattering in ordinary and heavy water under excitation by second harmonic of a picosecond Nd:YAG laser were compared. It was shown that when stimulated Raman scattering is excited in water in cavities of a photonic crystal (synthetic opal matrix constructed of silica nanoglobules) or a photonic glass in the form of close-packed monodimensional millimeter-size amorphous-quartz balls, the efficiency of stimulated Raman scattering increases significantly compared to a uniform liquid medium.  相似文献

The motions in a gas of thin films of a viscous incompressible liquid acted upon by capillary forces are considered. The surface tension depends on the impurity concentration of a surface-active material, soluble or insoluble in the liquid, and the liquid is non-volatile. The inertia of the liquid, viscous stresses, the Laplace pressure and the surface-tension gradients, impurity transfer and also the particular properties of super-thin films are taken into account. The motions of the films are described using the model of quasi-steady viscous flow. Systems of equations are obtained in the approximation of an ideal compressible medium and for small Mach numbers. The conditions for the incompressible film surface approximation to hold are obtained. The severe limitations of the gas-dynamic approximation in the case of a soluble impurity due to attenuation of the waves related to diffusion are investigated. A continuum model of the film as a compressible medium with a non-equilibrium pressure is constructed. The asymptotic form of the solutions of unsteady problems of impurity transfer in the limit of weak non-equilibrium is obtained. Integrals of the equations of motion of the films in steady one-dimensional problems are derived. Integral forms of the equations of momentum and its moment for an arbitrary contour of the film are presented, which hold for steady flows in a film and in quasi-statics. The boundary conditions for the solutions of the system of equations of motion of films are given.  相似文献
